Far from vintage Utd tonight and haven’t really been all that impressive since the Liverpool game so it’s promising to see them still picking up the points despite not being on top form. Will need to be much better than this though to come away with anything from Stamford Bridge

Definitely worth a couple of quid. I think Sheffield Wednesday may be the tricky one though

I think he still asks himself the same question every day! I was probably about 10 when I first went to Old Trafford.
I’ve lived abroad in various places and in different parts of the UK growing up so I’ve never had the chance to go regularly to OT.
I’m back home this week in the UK actually. Tried to get a ticket for the Benfica game but left it too late. Will be watching with my dad on the box tonight!

@blaze just keep an eye out for the threads titled “Week x footy (including predictions)”. The first post will include a prediction sheet where you just enter all your predicted scores and press save! I usually get those out on a Wednesday ahead of a PL match weekend

Always enjoy reading these type of posts. We can all relate to that feeling of the first game, or at least be able to relate to the moment the obsession began.
Mine was in 1994, a while after yours HH! I was only 8 and wasn’t particularly into football at the time. My dad is a big Leeds fan and took me to Elland Road to see Leeds vs Arsenal. Noel Whelan got the only goal. I enjoyed it and remember it vividly but my obsession with the game was more of a gradual thing.
I didn’t get hooked straight away. My love for the game grew through a combination of playing football at school, playing football games (mainly early football manager games and Fifa International Soccer!) and then I was reintroduced to going to live games, at which point I appreciated it a lot more.
Football dominates my life still,. If I’m not reading about football, I’m watching, listening to, playing, writing or talking about it.

I can sort of get it if you go to a big game between, say, a couple of European giants. For example, you get tickets to a CL final and you don’t support either of the teams. But, you just don’t buy a Liverpool Utd half half scarf under any circumstances. I’d never buy one myself either way!

Anyone seen anything of Sancho playing for Dortmund? He’s probably the star of this batch of young players so it’s a shame he’s left the country but it might well do him a lot of good if he ends up getting games at the highest level

I think Utd are most neutrals’ choice to win the league 999. The people’s choice, if you will ?

What a way to top off an unbelievable year for young England sides. Completely schooled Spain. Brilliant

Adlab, because I have nothing better to do, I’ve just done as you suggested and looked through this site https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/man-city/2014-15/fixtures-and-results.html?no-amp=1
I went back through to 13/14 season to present and counted 16 home games and 16 away games in total with both cups included. The levels of the teams faced are really mixed too.
In fact, season 14/15 City had only home games in the cups with the opponents being Sheffield Wednesday, Newcastle, Sheffield Wednesday again and Middlesbrough. No doubt there are plenty of tougher draws in there too but I honestly think that’s just the luck of the draw.
I think we all at times like to think out clubs are hard done by and that there’s an agenda against them but I I just can’t see anything in the draws over recent years to suggest anything is untoward.

Sanchez is surely a goner in January. Hope he goes to PSG. The rest of the league could do without City getting even stronger

I just don’t buy the whole conspiracy that says Utd are given easy draws to get them through. I can absolutely understand the concerns that people have about it appearing that the bigger sides are kept apart but the Utd conspiracy falls apart as soon as you look to the previous round.
City at home to a Championship side
Chelsea at home to a PL side
Spurs at home to a PL side
Arsenal at home to a PL sideSo Utd were the only one of the big sides to be drawn away to a PL side in the last round, hardly a sign of trying to give Utd easy draws! Lucky this round, absolutely, but not in the previous round where City got the easiest draw of the big sides. You win some, you lose some fellas! City should have more than enough to get past Leicester anyway

A 1-1 draw at home to Huddersfield Sean? Surely not? I know Utd struggled against them at their place but Liverpool shopuld have enough to get a home win.
You’re right that Spurs usually don’t perform very well at Old Trafford but it’ll be a tough game. I think Utd may just scrape it though.
