Bit annoying for Spurs that Bale only just decided to remember he can actually play football though, Chucky. He’s off back to Madrid soon isn’t he?
Sure I read somewhere that he fully intends to see out his final year there. I’ve very little respect for Bale. He’s only come to Spurs to get fit for the Euros. Shown no willingness to move to play football despite not being wanted at Madrid and seems determined to see out his final year there too.

That’s exactly it, Mikus. Do I hate the Glazers and their ownership and the debt? Absolutely. Do I support the (non-violent) protests? Absolutely. Will I stop watching the games or supporting the club over a long period? No of course not. My love for the club is more than my hate for the owners.
If that makes me a hypocrite then, frankly, I’m fine with that. I’m also fully aware that this kind of attitude makes the protests somewhat pointless but I’m not sure just standing by and accepting it is acceptable either.

Pagan,I was referring to this comment from Brian which I interpreted as “who would buy a club with fans like this?”. Maybe I misunderstood though
Idiots will kill football, Who would want to buy Utd debt and fans like this, yes, it is a warning signalโฆ..but for who?

Gjblues, I don’t disagree with that. Though it’s worth remembering that this was after we won 3 titles in a row

There’s only so much you can do though. At the end of the day, you have to, at times, grudgingly accept there is little you can do. I’m sure Cityfans aren’t overly keen on their owners’ involvement in an extremely questionable regime in their homeland. A regime which punishes homosexuality with murder. However, they also do tons of good stuff in the community over here and in the club so it’s understandable a lot of that is swept under the carpet. Not having a go. I’d likely do the same.
The ESL has definitely been a catalyst though to reigniting those fires. I mean some went and formed their own club. People all have different levels of tolerance. Are we all consistent all the time? Of course not. We’re all hypocrites. We’re all the first to have a go at opposition players for diving but defend our own for doing the same.

I disagree that nobody would be interested in buying a club like Utd Brian because of a minority of idiots. If investors were that stupid, no club would ever be bought as every club has their idiots. Those idiots yesterday don’t represent Utd fans any more than, for instance, the idiot City fan filmed making monkey gestures at Fred during the derby.
You keep saying this won’t work. Fine. Maybe it won’t but that doesn’t mean fans should just stand by and see their clubs turn into franchises.
Aside from the minority of idiots yesterday, I’m very supportive and proud of the protests from the fans. More fans should be doing more to rid the game of owners who, as we witnessed only a couple of weeks ago, want to destroy the football league pyramid and milk the clubs for all the money they can.

Brian fans donโt expect any of what you are suggesting (a say in transfers, etc) but they do want a say in how the game is structured and run, and how football clubs, which are not shops but the heart of many communities, are safeguarded. If you see yourself as a customer of a business then fine, presumably when it all goes wrong you can shop elsewhere. That isnโt the way I see myself and I would doubt that is how most other football supporters see themselves.
I missed this post yesterday Mike but got the nail on the head there. I think most fans can relate to this.

Brian, you’ve completely missed the point if you think protesting against the owners of a football club is, in any way, like protesting against the board of a supermarket because you don’t like something they sell.

Good to see you Beni. All good with me. Hope you’re well too.
Spot on with your post. I’m sure there is a feeling amongst a section of the protesters that a points deduction would be a result. No Champions League money would certainly be felt in the owners’ pockets.

Ed, but as more details emerge it seems that it unfortunately wasnโt โnon violentโ there are even reports of a Police Officer having his face slashed and needing to be taken to Hospital unfortunately it would seem the minority let the majority down.
Nine, hence the part at the bottom of my post about how this does not in any way condone what a small group of idiots have done.

Very good point Mike, again. I thought this was a great tweet, also
To those patronising #mufc fans, saying โthis isnโt the wayโ, what would you like them to do? Failed by government when Glazers came in. They tried every form of polite protest. They set up a Phoenix club. The owners do not engage. What else is left but non-violent direct action?

(Not in any way condoning that minority who overstepped the mark)

Idiots. What should have been a perfectly fine and understandable protest has now been overshadowed by an idiotic minority.
Award the game to Liverpool. They shouldn’t have unnecessary fixture congestion because of this

Sean, you’re 4 points behind a Chelsea side who go to City next weekend. It’s different but far from a done deal that Liverpool won’t get top 4. I understand your pessimism though. I’d be the same

Never confident playing Liverpool. We should really be winning the game based on how the season’s gone so far but Liverpool need the 3 points much more than we do. A draw wouldn’t surprise me.
Fancy Chelsea for 3rd now as they have momentum and Leicester go to Utd and Chelsea after their next home game. Question is if Liverpool or West Ham can catch Leicester. Will be tight I think

As bad as Arsenal are, I’m actually very much hoping they don’t make it to the final as they’ve been a bit of a bogey team for us this season, for some reason.
Surely now with Arteta, top clubs will stop thinking it’s ever a good idea to bring in someone so inexperienced simply because they’ve worked under a good manager. “But, Pep?” is the obvious answer to that but he’s very much the exception and only got the Barca job because he did such a great job with the second string. Arsenal are far too big a club to give a manager their first job in management and it’s taken them back years.

Well that turned around quickly. Cavani just oozes class. If he was 5-10 yrs younger I’d genuinely have him over Haaland. Such a clever forward
