Unfortunately this postponement has just made Chelsea’s away game at the Etihad next Saturday even more of a Mission Impossible.😊

Hmm. Not sure where they are going to re-fit this fixture. As tight as it can get before the final Sunday, I can only think Friday 21st Of May.

United have got Europa too. Very Tight. See what these fans have done!

I agree with you nine that this is more about ownership, and I agree with you Ed that it’s frustrating. However it’s also a great reminder to owners and governing bodies to listen to match-going fans; it’s a wake up call to fans to realise how much power we have when we are organised and active; and it’s a realisation to TV companies that you can’t market a game for a worldwide TV audience if local fans don’t allow the game to take place – this was probably the best game for this to happen and will hit all concerned in the pocket. This was a shot across the bow.

Some compelling points Mike. Possibly in an inadvertent way, The fans of the game would have felt deep inside some sense of achievement. This would have been beamed across the World.

Liverpool’s SOS Group have a meeting set up I believe for next Tues to make their feelings known essentially no longer want to be represented by John Henry and FSG.

I wonder from the Ramifications of this, what happens for example in somebody taking out a one-day Sky Sports Pass specially for this game…..

It is the “minority fans” we always here about who will try and dictate not the loyal fans. The whole thing just gets out of control, these are acts of violence and disrepect for the laws and property. All this accountable and who will end up paying for the “minority” actions? It is a mark of just how sick our society have become, taken to an illogical end it would be like saying lets kick M+S board out because they will not sell cheeseburgers or sky-blue shirts with a pink and yellow collar. Absurd. Don’t forget Boots..they will not sell Sat Nav!!! It is our poor society that takes a hammering on these things. You need to check everything these days.

Have you seen a recent motor advert on TV
This company inviting you to try there car…14 day trip….return. NO QUIBBLE

                      Note the word NO QUIBBLE

Look at the bottom of the screen in small letters. T&C applies

Well I guess a “quibble” or two will be found there

Sorry off tangent a little but hope you get the drift….society today

Fans….can somebody explain what they actually want

                        1. A say in the running of the club?
                        2. Who will have that say, it cannot be all of them, so will further conflict arise from within?
                        3. Do they want to choose players to buy or let go?
                        4. Do they want the other half to invest more or less
5 How much are they going to invest?

I fail to see the logic in all this, Over the years I have paid for my ticket to watch a football match…that is all…every team will go through good and bad patches and a loyal fan will stay with them. To days fans are tribal and anti football for many of them…the so called “minority”. We have too many “minorities trying to influence this country

Brian, if the fans want to go for the 50 +1 rule then they need to put in 50 +1 of any investment. The main problem with this is finding an investor to put up 50 and effectively have no say.

Currently there’s a lot of people out there who want to tell someone else how to spend their fortune, with no financial risk to themselves…..Pagan

                              Brian @ 7:30,

Fully understand Brian. I saw more youths today in that protest I’d say 18-24.

Whether or not they have a deep understanding of Manchester United. The likelihood was that they were probably local Boys revved up (possibly under the influence of something) and found this as an opportunity to tear away and run riot.

I do see protests in modern society where by people essentially channel their whole self; it’s as if nothing else matters or they have very little hope and prosperity.

“What else is left but non-violent direct action?”

Ed, but as more details emerge it seems that it unfortunately wasn’t “non violent” there are even reports of a Police Officer having his face slashed and needing to be taken to Hospital unfortunately it would seem the minority let the majority down.

I don’t think anyone though would disagree the United fans have the right to demonstrate against the ownership of the Glazers providing it’s done peacefully and without violence.

Good to know Nike, best of luck to SOS on there discussions. I listened to a podcast last week with the head of the FSA and he was saying that there are plans proceeding for lots more cooperation between supporters groups across the UK and Europe. This pressure needs to keep up while we have a window of opportunity. Club ownership rules which allow debt to be piled onto a club taking money out of a community, the re-structure of competitions, stupid rule interpretations, even VAR (which needs stripping out of the game completely) the fans are not involved in any of these decisions…why? Sorry Brian but we’ve tried the polite approach my entire life and it’s gotten us nowhere. If we don’t see change then I am all for peaceful direct action and a show of fan power. I did like your advert rant though, you sound like me 🀣

Brian, a good ideology in principle to Regulate clubs where fans are Stakeholders at a 50+1 Rate.

Generally nothing wrong with investment, but traction as we’ve witnessed in recent times has otherwise spelled greed.

Supporters shouldn’t be priced out for example from being able to buy tickets and attend.

We need Agents to be Abolished. They are the Crime for me. Players don’t need to earn 500k each week.

Like Brian I don’t know how the 50+1 rule works let’s for argument say United are worth Β£4 billion the Glazers could agree to go in that direction though I doubt they would but wouldn’t they want circa Β£2 billion from the fans for the 50+1 share and where are genuine normal fans going to find that sort of money? Also why would they want to leave their circa Β£2 billion valuation for their share of United in the hands of the fans?

Brian fans don’t expect any of what you are suggesting (a say in transfers, etc) but they do want a say in how the game is structured and run, and how football clubs, which are not shops but the heart of many communities, are safeguarded. If you see yourself as a customer of a business then fine, presumably when it all goes wrong you can shop elsewhere. That isn’t the way I see myself and I would doubt that is how most other football supporters see themselves.

Nine, it would have been potentially a dangerous move for the game to go ahead as we’re learning new information.

In light of today, other clubs will be looking at this closely from a Security and Safety POV.
