This is just me airing some wishful thinking – Liverpool are going to do a self imposed chelsea and not sign anyone this summer, at least not without selling. The reason for this (here comes the wishful thinking), is because they are going to snowball their funds and go all out for Mbappe next year. Thiago could come in this window, but it will not happen without sales. A bit of tongue in cheek and to be taken with a pinch of salt, but stranger things have happened.

Apparently the police were in pain clothes. So a drunk english man speaking to plain clothes Greek police might not have translated very well. Also to add, a couple of my best mates are what I would call nice stand up blokes. After 4 pints and a few tequilas they become massive pricks.

Whatever your views on this whole city mess are. “UEFA is a Protection racket for a few” is the truest statement i’ve read on this thread. FFP has nothing to do with fairplay, and is meant to preserve the aristocracy in football. I can think of 10 things straight off the bat that would better introduce fairplay into football, than limiting an owners spending power. Ie Max Transfer Cap, Max Salary Cap. Independent Panels to determine the value of a player. This would be messy to introduce but things would iron out in a season or two. Of course this much like FFP would be open to exploitation and corruption, but sadly that’s elite level sport these days.

In a weird way, a humbling from city is just what our boys needed. We’ve just won our first title in 30 years, and everyone associated with the club has achieved overnight godlike status. Being brought back down to earth instantly is ideal imo. Credit to city as well, they had a point to prove, and they proved it. It took all of this season to bring city back down to earth, hopefully last night is all our lads need.

                I love football banter.
My mate (who happens to be a chelsea fan) – “Frank Lampard has now won more titles for Liverpool than Gerrard. Finally We can put the who was better debate to bed”

Adlab – I have a double barreled name and am white British. It is both my dads and my mums surnames heifenated together. They both kept their own last name. My wife took my last name, so my son has both his grandparents names on my side. I couldn’t tell you if it’s also part of carribean culture or not though, it could well be. For what it’s worth I was always considered a posh boy because of it.

Paxton – travelled to see his elderly parents when his wife was suspected of having covid 19. That isnt looking after your family, that’s putting them in danger. His answers dont make any sense.

Paxton – You quite simply have to hold the govt and their advisors to higher standard than Joe Public. Saying you know people who have broken the lock down, I repeat is irrelevant. As Neil Ferguson was forced to resign, so should he. His reasons for breaking the lockdown aren’t valid, even if they are true.

It really is irrelevant if people have done the same as him, unless they too are in a position of authority. They were happy to let that scientist burn at the stake, who most probably had a considerably more valuable input to any advisory group. It comes down to asking why is he indespensible, anyone else would have been sacked for this.

Mikus- “I have a bit more sympathy with Cummings” why would you have sympathy for someone who holds the British public in utter contempt and wouldn’t piss on you if you were on fire. The man is a virus.

Was deeply disappointed to read Liverpool have put their non playing staff on furlough, but then read the staff will receive 100% of the wages. I then read that LFC can claim back 80% of the wages from the government. Does this mean we will be paying 80% of liverpool’s non playing staffs wages? I apologise if the answer is obvious, this is all very new to me. My friend works as a mixologist for the Marriott hotel chain in the US. He’s been put on furlough and receives 1 day a week pay.

A small tip for those struggling to get provisions. My wife and I have been using the small town/village petrol stations. It’s marked up prices and the selection isn’t very big, but you can get all the essentials, and far lower risk of contamination, and next to no que.

Sean – I do think the criticism of the people on the tube is a tad unfair. Though I do think the London underground should be shut until further notice. My point is that they most likely aren’t going on the tube for a jolly day out. Many people in London don’t drive and rely on public transport, and many of them could well be essential staff. The pictures make for very bad viewing in the current climate though.

Steveo- I’ll be honest, posts like yours above don’t hold any water with me. Cursing our luck that this has happened, doesn’t mean we don’t care about those affected. If anything Liverpool fans are probably hoping and praying more than anyone that this virus is brought under control.

The wife and I honeymooned in Italy last year. Florence to Siena is beautiful. Tuscany is littered with view spots and medieval architecture. I remember going over the Millau Viaduct in the south of france as a teenager and being wowed by it.
I also took a train from Vienna to Innsbruck with a stop over in Salzburg, and I can confirm it is stunning. I am a big fan of alpine scenery though. I blame the well constructed sets in the sound of music.
Anyone remember the top gear episode a few years back trying to find the worlds best road. I think they settled on somewhere in Romania.

Quite a lot of panic going on stateside at the minute. From stingy insurers to a complete lack of sick pay, this is going to hit them very hard. Stay safe and clean people, and if you live in the UK with a right to NHS care, thank your lucky stars. (Apologies if there are exceptional health care systems elsewhere, you can thank your lucky stars as well)
