Slot not using yesterday to go around the stadium applauding the fans is something I will never forget, meanwhile our legends are going around the stadium in tears and Slot and the rest of the coaches just sit there.
It´s moments like these that make me dislike the guy, instead of using the opportunity to bond a bit with the fans, apologize for the bad results and support the lads that are leaving he just sits there looking at flights back to Rotterdam.
I found the game particularly bad for us, I can´t believe it yet that we limped to a draw when we needed the three points. Not one of the subs made sense, taking off our biggest attacking threats. The only sub that did anything was Nyoni, he actually had a good few minutes.

25th May 2026 at 2:27 pm #247060None of the new signings started as well. Just seems like the same ‘Template’ used and recycled over. The players are and have been trying to establish themselves with all the weight of pressure with the Transfer Fees they are wearing.
It’s integrating them back in when they’re out, either via injury or omitted due to their form. It’s telling too that there appears caution on them especially to last 90 minutes.

25th May 2026 at 3:06 pm #247063Every player has become worse right now, with no exceptions, a couple of players might be doing good because of set pieces but that is not on the coaches. Gravy might have added a few goals to his game but his overall gameplay suffers, Mac Allister is a shadow of his former self. Gakpo has turned in a Casper the ghost upfront with no touches on the ball, no assists, no goals, no dribbles, no pressing and a absurd number of offsides when he should be onside.
Alison, Gomez, Konate, Robbo, Tsimikas, Endo, Jones, Salah, Macca as well. Tsimikas might serve out his last year. Elliott will probably be sold for good. Plus a number of other players.
I don´t see a way to buy ourselves out of trouble even though I am predicting a very big window. Slot has blamed it on everything except himself, injuries, refs, players…
I still find it so strange that he did not thank the fans for the season.
I am really curious to see what the wage bill will be after the summer!

25th May 2026 at 3:34 pm #247067True Bingo. Can’t disagree with that. Maybe Rio is a shining light, but the rest…….The Results reflect that. Last win was against Palace in April. May was just a misery for us.

25th May 2026 at 5:30 pm #247071I feel like a 30-35% decrease in the wage budget might be up until Edwards retires again, we protected our value in Gakpo by handing him a 250k contract while refusing to do the same with Diaz, we sold him at top market value while he was one of the most undervalued players in the squad.
I almost want Gomez to continue for another season as I am afraid of what will happen to the culture at the club next season if he leaves. I love him to bits but he can´t be relied upon as a player but I want him to continue right now as I don´t think the team will have any leaders.
Woodman will leave as well after actually having proving himself as a capable keeper so good lucks to him, Rhys Williams will leave as well, then a number of u21 players as well, lets not forget Chiesa. I can´t see him staying for one more season considering the treatment he gets from the head coach. 11 players running out of contract in total.
Bajcetic, Endo, Gomez, Jones, Tsimikas, Van Dijk, Alison and Gomez ending in 2027. Who are all basically players we should cash in on if we wanna have a squad in a couple of years.
That is a lot of players leaving the club in the next two windows guaranteed. Not a single one mentioned except maybe Jones could be offered new contracts. That´s 19 players out minimum in the next two summer windows.

25th May 2026 at 6:44 pm #247077I’ll be cryptic on purpose, but have seen something a little while ago online that suggest all 3 will be changed. We’ll have somebody new in the Summer. And it did seem from an honest source.

25th May 2026 at 8:09 pm #247083Iraola is favourite according to this. Realistically, I think it could be
Pep Ljinders as he’s also left City. Maresca presumably has in place his own Coaching Network.

27th May 2026 at 9:01 am #247122Well, if there is a new assistant, then that shuts down all the rumours and we’re doomed.
He sure isolated himself though the other day with a glum expression. Looked on the edge too during the final post interview. Was surprised not to see the attendance of John Henry and Wife for Mo and Andy’s farewell unless I’m mistaken.
We’re stuck with all this lot so it seems.

29th May 2026 at 11:55 am #247344I am hearing most of the issues are down to one man. One man on a power trip and doesnt want to give it up. The one man that is suporting Slot probably in the entire world.
Funny thing is on TT a lot of posters, probably some on here still, absolutely lauded him. Only myself called him overated.
(for those not following its Edwards)

29th May 2026 at 12:33 pm #247346Thanks moonster thats great chum but to be honest absolutely dont need a crystal ball to see whats coming
I predict the following, just my opinion
Isak and writz will fail.
Slot be gone by Christmas with no viable replacement
This summer we will still leave ourselves short in a few areas
Footbsll be shite and this could really be the stsrt of a decline for years._____________________________
