Absolute best case scenario for me is if he turns this around. would hate to start looking for a manager now. Maybe after next season?
But some things just need to happen:
– there needs to be more fighting spirit. We have to outrun our opposition. Mo can’t just walk back when they’re counter attacking. This is also on the players of course and vvd as captain. But fighting spirit needs to be there!
– start from the back. We should just make damn sure not to concede. Start more defensive minded, win confidence. Endo anyone?
– he needs to rotate starting xi based on merit. Lex Mo vs Chiesa.
– his subs are so desperate all the time. Stop throwing in 11 attackers. Let the players work it out with the system
– we’re just to stationary and easy to defend against. Understand possession style, but we need more movement and rock and roll back
– tweak what’s not working. Lex kerkez (who is actually one of few who makes an effort)Now, make this happen Slot!

27th November 2025 at 9:41 pm #231640I think confidence is shot but it’s the manager’s job to obviously restore it. I think we started the season better because it was the start of the season and players had a lift from the excitement of that but now it’s evaporated. As I said before Slot it appears has never really had a crisis like this to have experience from. Hence I think his rinsing and repeating just hoping it will eventually resolve itself. Tactics aside, I think motivation and confidence are the priority for him. Obviously this was Klopp’s strength in galvanising a team together. Maybe Slot just hasn’t got much of that in his locker. He’s obviously got to do something. It’s now or never.

27th November 2025 at 9:45 pm #231641Sean, hit it on the nail mate re Egos and being Stubborn.
I tend to not watch Press Conferences; just all monotone platitudes churned out. I get it though; all you’re doing is feeding to what they desire.

27th November 2025 at 9:48 pm #231642Radical Change for me is the boldness to drop individuals you wouldn’t expect to see being dropped. There are egos in there and I’m suspicious these have already spilled into the dressing room.
Bit like the England Squad; forget picking players on reputation; instead pick players on other traits and characteristics.

28th November 2025 at 2:16 am #231648It doesn’t matter who is picked, the players arnt the problem (Konate aside but he has no alternatives).
Change the training, get the intensity back and then work on the more tactical side.

28th November 2025 at 7:30 am #231650Threeps, i get its tactics but chiesa can go at players with both with feet much better then gakpo so why not pay him left? Mate
Robbo has suited the system better but hasnt played in last two games.
I get if we play endo but continue with same approach then its pointless but something has to change
Play ramsey at rb and not a midfielder
We seem to man mark now. Ive seen that work with Atlanta but we dont work hard enough to press
Its like utds ten hag.
You understand tactics better then me.
What is the difference between last seasin and this? Robbo playrd invertrd last season. Forget the lack of intensity etc. im trying to understand why he has made such ridiculous changes to a winning formula
I see a man to man press
Konate following the centre forward nearly to the forwards 18 yard
No switches from vvd
Subs are ridiculous all formation goes out the windowIts absolutely shite to watch

28th November 2025 at 9:03 am #231655Sean, it’s a number of things and introducing them all at once has backfired badly.
I know you said forget intensity but that is a major issue, both going forwards and backwards. I suspect our fitness training has dropped and hence we run far less, press is non existent, jog back, cant get Isak fit etc.
Plus as you say the very Ten Hag like tactic of rushing everyone forward is abysmal. There’s no patterns, no options, and easy to defend against. Lose possesion and it’s an easy boot over the midfield and the back line is open as Slot never plays a DM. Last year Grav was the most DM like player we had but he’s been instructed to get further forward, so who covers? In fact when I heard him say that in preseason it was an alarm bell to what has unfolded.
There are some simple things he could do to improve the situation and it all starts on the training pitch. But he seems, like a lot of managers, too arrogant to acknowledge to himself his ideas have failed and need to change.

28th November 2025 at 10:40 am #231658Sean, Gakpo was our 2nd highest goal scorer last season.
Salah is one of the top goal scorers ever for us and for the league.
So what’s changed? Both have always cut inside and used their stronger foot to shoot.
The space is now gone and they are being forced wider.MacA is being pushed further forward beside the 10 and the fullbacks are coming inside more often rather than out.
How many players is that now all occupying the same space?
I havnt even mentioned the central attacker here.Who would you prefer within the width of the box in space?
The fullbacks or our top 2 goal scorers? With all these players pushed up on top of each other, what happens when we are turned over?
Who’s left back?
Where is the midfield?_____________________________

28th November 2025 at 10:43 am #231659I’d sack Hughes all day long, before Slot, simply because he oversaw a shambolic summer transfer window, with two crucial mistakes.
Firstly, not keeping Luis Diaz, who was easily the best winger/striker in the league.
Secondly, and even worse, spending £124m on the overhyped and over-inured Isak. When other top clubs were paying around £60m for players of similar quality e.g. Eze for £62m and Madueke for £57m, less than the total cost of Isak – Talk about wasting the owners money, he has a lot to answer for with his inflated over-confidence.
Now let’s get behind the team and aim to win on Sunday.

28th November 2025 at 10:45 am #231661The players need to stand up and be counted, and understand that they play for Liverpool FC.
Tactics are not to blame for poor individual performances and mistakes on the pitch, such as stupid handballs (Van Dijk), missed passes and headers (Konaté) or poor finishing (Gakpo, Salah).
As for Kerkez, he was in the PL Team of The Year last year, so he is a top left-back, and is fully to blame for his poor performances at Liverpool, such as simply not marking his opponent for the PSV goal on Wednesday, that has nothing to do with Slot.

28th November 2025 at 10:47 am #231663Lads, very good points. Im
Dumbfounded about use of macca.Ginger im not contesting that a lot has changed in just trying to understand the changes which you and threeps see a lot better then me
Kerkes is playing with his back to goal tucked inside nearly in opposition 18 yard
I really want slot to succeed but hes not going to change
Werent we a bit more conservative v arsenal at home and it worked
I understand up top is an issue but we need to stop conceding goals.

Are you dumb or something, so who exactly spent £124m on Isak, and who decided to sign him?
Don’t you even know what the job of a Director of Football is?
This is the same Richard Hughes who apparently overruled Slot in letting Diaz leave, yet another stupid decision.

28th November 2025 at 10:59 am #231669You’re the self proclaimed business expert Songman, surely you know the difference between the owners money and the clubs? And if the owners did dip into their own pockets for the likes of Isak and Wirtz we would immediately be way over the 105m PSR limit? Or even how our club is actually run regarding transfers?
So maybe do yourself a favour before calling others dumb.

28th November 2025 at 11:02 am #231670Anyway…
Yes Sean Kerkez is one of the biggest head scratchers to be honest. Best attacking full back in the league last season now a shell of that player after being forced to invert and be involved in the build up.
Going back to topic, he would suit both Alonso and Iraolo to a tee! If we bought a proper DM or at least employed someone there.

You are funny, of course, I wasn’t referring to the owners personal actual money in their personal bank accounts, that is bleeding obvious.
If you own a business, and the person in charge just starts wasting the businesses money, one way or another they are wasting your money, for example if the company goes bankrupt, and you lose all the money you invested in it.
And conversely, if they run the company properly, increasing it’s value, and then you can sell the company for a big profit, or extract big profits from it.

28th November 2025 at 11:46 am #231673Looking at the signings we’ve made and tried to make with guehi, it could be that we’re looking long term with a 3-5-2 formation.
This is a post Salah team, maybe even when he goes to afcon?
Kerkez and frimpong as wingbacks, which would suit them. And wirtz behind Isak and ekitikie.
Slot has to try something different and play a system to suit the players he has got now.
