Yep, Slot going in January was odd and considering the results, almost everyone said he was gone, but as you have seen, there is a lot of confusion at the club. So, yes, that one was in the end wrong but at the time, he was going.
The disarray and disharmony in the changing is now clearly evident, Ali, Robbo, Konate, Mo and Jones wouldnt be leaving if there was a great atmosphere. VVD and Jones did fallout in the changing room over Slots tactics and the next game Jones wasnt in the squad even when we didnt have the bodies to fill the bench. Im not sure of the game, but it was a European game against Qarabağ. That is pretty much a well known fact.
Never once did i say there’d be a big spend in 25…and remind me who did and said we’d spend £450m? Give me proof of who said that?! No one!

If I was a betting man which I’m not, thjnk I’d put a wager on Hoeneß. Just get the feeling it’s shifting more towards him rather than Iraola.
I’d be happy with that. He is possession based but it’s vertical passing not side to side, slow out the back but can explode when needs to when there’s space to exploit.

I was the one predicting a big spend or the sale of the club, it was either one before the summer. Klopp stepping down etc. made me feel that either FSG were gonna commit again or sell. We had the lowest net spend of any top club around Europe almost. We still got a low net spend compared to other clubs so I´m pretty sure we will see another 400 million window. Don´t put that on moonster even though we shared a few opinions during the last year or so. I don´t think Henry wants to sell the club anymore, I think he has figured out that we are the crown jewel kind off in their whole enterprise. With bigger potential then the Red Sox.
I´m not worried about Slot, Hughes or Edwards, they are short term solutions to a long term project and you lads can argue all you want with moonster and his contacts but you have to admit some of it actually makes sense when you connect the dots. Whether a decision has been made or not is up for speculation but all interested parties are talking right now about the future of the club.
There is a big decision coming in the next week or month, the board needs to back Slot with a new contract and get new coaches in to back him or schedule a taxi for him. There are only two options left on the board, back him or sack him.
Henry has been ruthless with our managers, the only one he has fully backed is Klopp, everyone else has gotten the sack. Even Daglish!

Having said what I just said, over here in Germany there’s little to no talk of Hoeneß joining Liverpool, its all about how he might one day manage Bayern.
Probably something to do with the fact Stuttgart play Bayern tomorrow in the cup final and journalists are trying spice it up for clicks.

3ps he is pretty destined for that job eventually but I do wonder if he wants to create his own legacy before joining up there. Like I would not be that keen on being employed by my own family at that stage of my career. I would actually love him at Liverpool, his whole family is football, I want a football fanatic at the helm. He could create his name here and then go back to Germany and manage Bayern in his own way. He is one year younger than me, FFS… That would be a first lol. That turnaround with Stuttgart is remarkable but I think he might be overhyped right now because of this one club and his name.
I don´t feel like we should have a unproven manager at the helm, like we do right now with Slot, Houness might be able to establish his authority at the club but I feel like it´s a maybe.
I don´t believe we will see any news about Slot or a new manager for about a month but the decision might have already been made. 3.5 million payoff to go back to your family is not a bad deal, he can leave with his reputation intact on mutual terms or face the wrath of Anfield next season if he fails. Cause I´ll bet that every flight he makes back to Holland to visit his family will be used against him. Especially when all the lads are also on holiday.
I don´t mind the lads getting the occasional day off from work every couple of months but they should just focus on working like anyone else, that fucking McDonalds ad by Szobo still hurts my brain. He is turning into Pogba and by that I mean the club is failing him and making him a product instead of a footballer. They even got the same freaking hair styles this season!

Looks like a major hint if Slot stays or not is the rumoured appointment of a new no2 in Etienne Reijnen from Feyenoord. I think Slot may have said something about it in his presser? Stopped watching those a long time ago myself. But if the club appoints this guy then clear sign Slot is going nowhere.

I’d completely understand it if there were green shoots of recovery – but I can’t see any – can anyone else? All I see is abject displays by players capable of far more, terrible tactics and absolute crap spoken in pressers.
Surely if they had any confidence in him as the long term answer, they would be offering him a contract extension as he can walk away next summer anyway. I just don’t get it!….

If the club are basically saying that Slot needs certain players to deliver then it:
1) begs the question why such players weren’t brought in last summer? And
2) is a concession that he is not a top coach. Top coaches deliver even in difficult circumstances. It’s like when you have a so-called world class player who is said to be not delivering because they’re not being played in the right position or in the right system. If such a player can only deliver under a very narrow set of conditions then they ain’t world class.However, better players can still make a difference though before everyone jumps on me yes I know the coaching is the fundamental problem. We’ll just have to hope for the best if Slot is staying.

If anyone watches Anfield Agenda have a look at Craig’s u-turn and announcement of his proposed resignation. For those not knowing, the host Craig for a few weeks now stated he had credible evidence from a jorno not associated with LFC that Slot was going, and if wrong he would resign as he was that sure.
Would like to point out at no point was Anfield Agenda influencing my thoughts on managerial change. The news about the no2 guy from Feyenoord has made me u-turn.
It does now seem Slot will be in charge next season.

Yes I think Slot will probably be staying, the main reason being he is a product of the recruitment team of Hughes and Edwards and rumour has it they still believe in him. Or else the club will have to ride roughshod over them all which wouldn’t make sense unless they all leave.

As far away from a Liverpool coach you can get, apart from Jose! But he does enter the managerial merry-go-round so he will replace a big name somewhere.
What I’ve heard is that as usual there will be an end of season review within the next two weeks or so. If coaching staff are added within that time or soon after then we know Slot is staying.
Watched the first half of the Pokal final between Bayern and Stuttgart and Hoeneß played with a back 3. Strong in the press, created chances and was surprised how advanced Stiller played, but ultimately their quality up front was evident. Kane then went on to score a hattrick in the 2nd half.
