Is it such a bad signing, itยดs a squad signing IMO, you need extra bodies as you are gonna play the Champions League

8th July 2026 at 7:40 pm #250011Santos is a strange fucking signing. Emerson and him seem very similar. If Tchouamรฉni is the third i have no idea who is meant to get on the ball and make us tick. Would have preferred Alex Scott but zero idea where we are going in the market. One thing i know, Ederson and Santos won’t be scaring the PL and Europe’s finest.

8th July 2026 at 7:52 pm #250012I watched a lot of Santos at Strasbourg; he is comfortable on the ball, can get stuck in, has pace, lots of energy too. A specialist DM is still needed and if thatโs Tchouameni then so be it but only at reduced wage.
But Archie Gray is also a young DM with lots of Potential.

8th July 2026 at 9:42 pm #250024Thatโs the difference between Andrey Santos and Fernandes .. one is media hyped and the other isnโt. Both Tonali and Fernandes were never 80 or 100M players.
@Jm i agree with you. Last season i also had him as one of the midfielders to sign and this window it has happened.

8th July 2026 at 11:36 pm #250026Tchouameni signing new Real deal so again papers know absolutely fuck all. If next years midfield is Mainoo, Santos and Ederson then i ain’t looking forward to that one bit regardless of what people on here are saying. Looks like we’ve gone for the cheap and easy option of players that no other top clubs were in for.

9th July 2026 at 6:05 am #250027Agree with you completely N1xer, we have gone for the cheap options and I never thought Tchouameni was a goer. Have never been happy about Ederson and Santos doesnโt exactly excite but Iโm afraid we seem to have reached our level. Then thereโs Mainoo, never been convinced about him either. The engine room has needed an overhaul for years and if this is it, weโre fucked. Letโs hope thereโs another to come in that area of the pitch.

9th July 2026 at 6:06 am #250028Then thereโs the horrific probability that weโll reintegrate that cunt Rashford.

9th July 2026 at 8:06 am #250030In what parallel universe is a bench warmer for a mid table team worth 50 million quid? Unless he the turns out to be far better than what he has shown so far that deal should have been made for around half that price. Owned by wankers, run by idiots.

9th July 2026 at 8:14 am #250031@blacky67 ๐คฃ and to top it off they have a 10% sell on clause. ยฃ50m punt that could be anything but not good enough to play for Chelsea.

9th July 2026 at 8:15 am #250032JM – Pretty sure you’ve been saying we should avoid signings like Fernandes and Tonali, for huge money, and look for cheaper options aimed towards “fast, young and hungry players”. But when we do that you say we’re fucked? Last season Casemiro’s legs had almost completely gone, he was dribbled past more than any other player in one game. So if we are replacing him with someone who can actually run and tackle then perhaps we are improving that area of the team?

9th July 2026 at 8:22 am #250033@Jumpers – Yeah, but any sell on clause is worthless anyway because we can never sell anyone unless it’s at a massive loss, eg Antony and Hojlund.

9th July 2026 at 8:47 am #250034Perhaps the sell-on clause is an indication of changing strategy at United? I can’t remember a club ever putting a sell-on clause on a player they’ve sold us before. So maybe we are starting to take the player exit side of transfers more seriously. Which could be why we aren’t spending ยฃ100m or ยฃ85m on players this summer.

9th July 2026 at 8:50 am #250035There are very few players who can displace a midfield pairing of Enzo and Caicedo at Chelsea. Also i can bet some on here have never noticed the lad just because the media werenโt raving about him. He is ranked amongst top5 best young midfielders in the league and had 4years left on his contract; i will say 50M was a decent price.
Personally i do like the signing because as i stated before he was immense at Strasbourg and he has the talent and mentality; now lets see who else they can bring in to completely overhaul the midfield.

9th July 2026 at 8:57 am #250036How is it a change in strategy by United you numpty? Are you suggesting that it was our idea to insert a sell on clause when it’s clearly something that Chelsea insisted upon?!๐
Honestly, you’re legendary flip flopping during transfer windows knows no limits. You started off this one by applauding the club for not bowing to other clubs unreasonable demands, then when Fernandes went to Spurs you were saying that we should just pay the money, but now it’s back to applauding the club for shopping in Aldi instead of Harrod’s.
Fuck me, you’re responsible for more flip-flops than the caretaker at your local Mosque mate!๐๐๐_____________________________

9th July 2026 at 9:02 am #250037@Happy-Fairplay to you mate for trying to put your eternally positive spin on things but you know as well as the rest of us that this so called midfield rebuild is totally underwhelming. For all the ifs buts and maybes you’re throwing out, what if they both turn out to be two Ugarte’s? Then we are well and truly fucked. There is a time to pinch pennies and there is time to be decisiveness in the market and spend what is needed. We had a chance to really get back on track this summer as there is nothing to be feared from any team in the PL at the moment, but instead we have decided to implement a mid table transfer structure in terms of fees and wages. Makes sense now why they appointed Carrick as u cant see any top manager accepting the level of deals we are currently doing. The only hope now ids that they go big on signings in other positions but won’t be holding my breath.

9th July 2026 at 9:06 am #250038@JM-The Rashford reintegration chat isn’t even worth thinking about. It’s the type of move that would make me not support the team. Unreal after all the toxic shit and disrespect that cunt has shown the club. But i am sure the vibe crowd will put a positive spin on it like they did with the Carrick appointment.

9th July 2026 at 9:28 am #250040Just saw a video online with some Chelsea influence going absolutely batshit crazy over the fact they sold Andrey Santos, and even worse for him was that he was sold to us. Two sides of the same coin, I guess. His logic was that we finished 10th last season and a club that is going to be playing CL football wanted him. He was giving out that selling that kind of player, only 22, makes no fucking sense whatsoever.
