The Roma players to forgo four months’ salary. Edin Dzeko and his Roma teammates will forgo their wages for four months. The players and coaching staff at Serie A side AS Roma have agreed to go without four months’ salary to help the club through the crisis caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.
That is refreshing. They no doubt can afford to do that but still, how many would do that for their employers especially the whole squad. Brilliant.

This to replace the above post which was not quite worded the way I intended.
Hoping everyone is doing well on here and also thinking about those that have not been on here for some time for whatever reason that may well still look in from time to time for a read.
I am hoping sincerely that our old mate Nil and his family are doing OK in these tough times. You take care mate and congratulations on the title. Much deserved and I am sure the team will get to raise the trophy high at a ceremony as some stage in the, hopefully, near future.

Testing on the relationship but we survive. One Restaurant (in a highly populated beach suburb going well even without dining in but the other really bad as it is located in a suburb where wealthy older people live so a bit of a battle even breaking even. Football used to be what got me through the week. A bloody big void. Strangely all our horse, harness and greyhound racing is going ahead without interruption just no public admittance so I watch some of that from time to time on pay TV. Walking about 15 km every day so the health doing well. Dropped close to 10 kilos the last 6-8 weeks.

And Vialli recovered from Pancreatic Cancer. Only 5% do that. It clearly wasn’t his time to go bless him. What a legend.
Sad news re Peter Bonetti who was apparently battling illness for quite some time. RIP ‘the cat’.

So we get to Christmas and still no football then what do they do between January and next May if sport generally can restart say February?
I’ll leave you lot to it. Take care all.

The optimism of life getting back to normal sooner rather than later can only be based on what is happening over in Wuhan China so what happens there over the next month will be a good yardstick but that is, if you believe everything they tell us.

If there is no football and we reach Christmas then my suggestion starts to have plenty of credit and why wouldn’t it? Time will tell. In the meantime the focus e to be finding a vaccine and saving lives so any thought of live sport happening in the next 2 – 3 months is a pipe dream in my opinion. I hope I am wrong.

The way things are going they may as well focus on restarting the Premier League on the anniversary date of when it ceased and finish the current season. If the world was free of disease sufficiently for the same to happen everywhere then that could be the answer for all the domestic leagues. In that situation the Champions League and Europa League could also pick up where they left off.
Contracts due to expire June 2020 and contracts due to expire June 2021 both expire June 2021.

A bit of light humour that might help. I had a good laugh which is what we all need at the moment.
Hi guys
Just be careful because people are going crazy from being in lock down! Actually I’ve just been talking about this with the microwave and toaster while drinking coffee and all of us agreed that things are getting bad. I didn’t mention anything to the washing machine as she puts a different spin on everything. Certainly not to the fridge as he is acting cold and distant. In the end the iron straightened me out as she said everything will be fine, no situation is too pressing. The hoover was very unsympathetic… told me to just suck it up, but the fan was more optimistic and hoped it would all soon blow over! The toilet looked a bit flushed when I asked its opinion and didn’t say anything but the door knob told me to get a grip.? The front door said I was unhinged and so the curtains told me to ……..yes, you guessed it ?…..pull myself together ._____________________________

Yes 999, most apart from some backpackers are finally getting it. The fines are no doubt effective and the police do generally give out warnings for minor things. Our main problem with the spread here is and was the cruise ships which account for a good number of our deceased and also some of the spread. The baggage handlers at the Adelaide airport didn’t help either.

Yes Sean there has been a one off $10,000 grant approved for struggling businesses which we will look into and also a fortnightly payment of $1,500 available to employees that have been stood down called a Job Keeper allowance which is paid via the Tax Office to the Employer. At the moment our restaurants are doing ok on take away and home delivery however time will tell how it goes as the virus takes hold. Maybe we will be closed down for safety reasons. The figures coming out of China suggest they have the virus beat already and apparently their economy has been kickstarted to produce medical equipment to the rest of the world that is suffering. You couldn’t make it up could you?

Posted earlier. amended it twice and it disappeared for whatever reason so not going to start again. Simply I will say take care guys. It looks like the data is starting to spike there in the Old Dart so stay home and stay safe whatever you all do. The figures in Australia, for now are as good as we could have hoped but our spike will come in time, no doubt.

So what is the lockdown situation in the UK (or more specifically England) regarding essential services and non essential services and in particular trading by Restaurants. As with here in house dining is long ago banned but our restaurants can still do take away and home delivery. What about yours?

So Germany is in lockdown with only essential shops open yet there’s a stack of people out and about living their lives as they always have and contributing to the threat. That being the case they may as well have all their businesses up and running as per normal. Fines of $1,000 on the spot happening here and we are not even in total lockdown yet. The majority of people practising social distancing quite well too. Went for my daily two hour walk this morning and most people appear to be focused on survival. Only 14 dead here at this point in time and many of those were let off of a cruise ship in error.

Still open for business at this time in Australia but only for take away and home delivery and actually had a good night of it last night despite so many being out of work.
Not sure how long before the dreaded Phase 3 and total lockdown but we are not there yet. That may change anytime.
From midnight tonight all returning Aussies from overseas are being taken straight off in buses to one of about 6 hotels to stay for 2 weeks isolation and testing under full supervision, courtesy of the Government/tax payers.
