Threeps thanks for that review mate, appreciate it. Whilst you & I have had some minor disagreements over the years I genuinely put you in the bracket with the others I mentioned for being a very good balanced poster. Great to hear we also played well & in the end probably deserved the win. As we seen last season head to heads with our main rivals could play a major part in the eventual winners & in that regard we are looking pretty good so far. Long long way to go & oddly enough I’m still very nervous about us being front runners, who’d have thought hey ?.
Much like in tennis though it’s no good getting the break then the opposition breaking straight back so we need to consolidate this great result with a good performance at another tough venue.
      Take care all.

Imagine my excitement seeing the score when I got up this morning, then I seen the controversy with not so complimentary comments & thought did we deserve it or were we lucky. Stats show they dominated possession/shots etc so did we outplay them or were they the better team?
Adlab is very predictable, I told y’all he’s complimentary & balanced whilst ever city are dominating & winning but bitter as heel when they aren’t. Very funny how predictable he is so I say just have a laugh at his bitterness.
Our goals were pretty good & on the handballs, there was a city handball in one of them so I’d say our handball wouldn’t have happened if they didn’t happen 1st. As for the other one it did appear TAA was trying to get his arms in but truth be told I’d expect a pen if that was against us.
Either way I’d be interested to hear from the balanced & unbiased posters such as BBlue/pagan/Sean/htown (a few others but these come to mind), did we deserve the 3 points or not.
Take care all & remember, health & happiness are much more important than a game (although happiness & football sometimes go hand in hand, but you know what I mean).

Mak me old mate, my daughter told me :>)) was a smiley face & whilst it took me a while to figure it out I finally got it. I was having a laugh mate, not offended in the slightest bud.
Threeps mate I must admit I had a laugh at your post, sitting top by 6 & being chopped for how bad we are, very good point.
Gods honest truth lads I have only seen highlights of our games as fox sport in Oz doesn’t play any games any more (Optus mobile service has the rights & I ain’t paying any more for subscriptions) so I go off those & what people say after the games. I know it’s like watching clips off YouTube to see if a player is any good but from what I read & see we are missing a lot of chances ( I suppose should be happy we are creating them) & other teams have missed some pretty easy chances against us as well. I just see city as more clinical than others & base my prediction on that.
It appears to me in big games at home in the EPL the crowd & players seem nervous whereas in the C/L it’s like there’s a belief we will beat everyone.
Anyhow here’s to a win Mark me old mate, that’d really put us in a great posi.
          Take care all.

Mak you’ll be pleased to know I won’t be posting for over a month after this week so I’ll bombard you with negative stuff before I go so you don’t miss out :>)) I’m heading over to the US of A for a month on the west coast & I won’t even see results most of the time. Hopefully we’ll be further ahead when I get back & you can lecture me about how wrong I am.

            Take care mate.

Mak: manu & city are the main 2 games I wasn’t confident in. Most of the others I’ve said I’d be disappointed if we didn’t win (maybe Leicester but I can’t remember). I think if they go at us they won’t miss the chances other teams have missed. Our D isn’t as solid as last season & our top 3 are stuttering a bit. city are probably the only team I think will beat us at Anfield. I’d be surprised if we lost another home game. It’s great your optimistic and I hope your right and we dust them up. I predicted we’d win the SG slip year and was wrong as well, who cares, it’s a forum where we have different views. I don’t take it as seriously as you and others so chill out old mate. I’ve said many times depth is why I predict city to win the EPL & I’m more confident in the cups as Anfield is such a massive advantage & literally nothing is off the table when we play there in the cups.
              Talk soon, take care all.

I like reading the echo as I get some good info from them but by god I wish they’d stop with these stories on where Liverpool have an advantage over city. They have the biggest advantage in their squad depth which pretty much nullifies all these little “advantages” Liverpool may or may not have.
Whatever way the game goes I hope VAR doesn’t play a deciding role in the outcome.

I think Pep will go at us as he knows their D is a bit shaky so attack is the best form of D. This means our D will have to be on song as their attack is freaky good but like Sean I worry about Lovern. I think they’ll nick it, we have been going on but not solid enough to hold out their attack & with our top 3 still not firing on all cylinders I think they’ll nick a close one 1-2.

Nine I can only speak for myself but when your lot & man city went crazy with the spending I for 1 didn’t really respect it that much when you won titles, to me they were brought trophy’s. yes I know it’s always been the same but it’s the extent all at once over a few seasons that made me feel that way. I know Liverpool are spending big but still nowhere near those 2 clubs spent. Throw in real, Barca etc & I think the C/L victory was a great achievement. I suppose it’s the underdog thing. I expect city to win the EPL because they have the best squad as their spending put them that far ahead of everyone else. As for Chelsea now, I think it’s a massive achievement to be playing so well with so many youngsters strutting their stuff & I really hope it continues. A top 4 finish would be a massive achievement all things considered & I hope you get there.
                    Take care all.

I said at the start of the season Chelsea were my Smokey to go well this season & even after a slowish sort of a start I thought they’d come good. Must say it’s still only relatively early but I didn’t expect them to be going so well this early but I always had a gut feeling they’d get top 4. If they are going this well with a pretty young side imagine how they’ll go when they can but again, with money @ a good young squad I expect them to be right up there in the coming seasons.

From what I’m reading we dominated the game & deserved to win. Seen the Firmino incident & think he was on side.
Adlabs a predictable but funny lad. Whilst it’s all tight & city are behind he’s very negative & non complimentary to Liverpool but you watch his demeanour change if/when city get in front, he’ll be very complimentary about how good Liverpool are & what a great season it has been.
Sad to see manu lose, NOT, they were starting to look like they were on the up & no one but them wants that.
Chelsea getting the cookies is also a worry, Imagine them being able to buy some top quality to go with their young guns, they’ll be right up there.
                        Take care all.

From what I’m reading we pretty much dominated the game and despite how close it was were very deserved winners. Good to see the much maligned Hendo pop up with an important goal as well. Is Mo injured, I’m reading he came off and might be out for a game or 2. I hope not because we will need all our big guns fit for the city game coming up soon, not to mention what I think is our best chance of silverware in the cups. All in all the season is going very good so far but as we seen last season a 6 or 7 point lead is not that big a buffer when you have to play the moneybags a couple of times.
                          Take care all.

Mikus good posts mate, like Threeps said we have no creativity in the middle, our midfielders are grinders & workers, not playmakers but credit to manu they nullified is brilliantly.

Chelsea man/ lucky: lads I’ve said for the last couple of seasons the difference between city & LFC is their quality in depth. Over a full season they just wear everyone down with depth (as you’d expect with what they’ve spent). It’s great to get off to a flying start but as the season rolls on depth plays a massive part.
I don’t think Klopp trusts our bench to fill in for the front 3 as he rarely rotates them. I said at the start of the season those 3 got f all break in the off season & the time will come where they either get injured or lose form & what do we do then. We NEVER turn up at manu & we won’t beat city home or away, they are just games we don’t turn up to these days.
I said it at the start of the season & I’ll say it again city will win the EPL again, it’s as predictable as the Patriots winning the NFL. Cups suit us better with the 2 leg contests awesome with Anfield being such a great advantage. I’m not saying we will win a cup but they are once again our best chance of winning a trophy.
                              Take care all.

Oh well I was close with my prediction, got the result right though. Once again I didn’t see the game but the result is not surprising at all, from what I’ve read maybe a bit lucky to get a draw. This season is a replica of last. Liverpool get out the the blocks fast & look solid like there is some new found steel there, city drop a few points early, Liverpool can’t beat the arch enemy despite them being truly dreadful, suddenly start dropping points, city beat one & all take the lead & don’t look back. Easy to predict, it’s as bad as any other sport for predictability.
On a positive the weather is warming up here in Oz & an awesome summer of JetSki & surf beckons.

Much like when we play our blue neighbours form doesn’t mean much in these clashes. I remember last season manu were absolute dog muck & we couldn’t beat them so I’m not overly confident of 3 points here. Would not be surprised to see a 0-0 score or a very low scoring game. Don’t think we will lose but expect a much tougher game than some are talking. 0-0 is my prediction.

Jeez this has turned into a s**t storm, Adlab is hilarious, every time city drop points or don’t play up to their lofty standards he has a chop at LFC. Threeps is spot on the money, have a laugh at the bitterness & don’t take it seriously.
As for the current best manager, I personally like a manager that builds a team into a major force and for me that’s what Klopp does. Could Pep build a club like Klopp has us without the gazillions of dollars? Maybe but I don’t think we will ever know as he doesn’t take on those challenges. Yes we’ve spent a lot but got a lot back in sales as well. Getting the jigsaw to fit so to speak.
Don’t get me wrong I think Pep is awesome at getting the best out of players & plays some awesome football but Klopp builds teams form top to bottom. Either way they are both world class managers. Maybe a little biased but thats just my take.

Take care folks & here’s to the end of these blood internationals, they obviously make some a little up tight & they annoy the bejeezus out of me.

Jeezus have we learnt nothing from last season. Bookies slashing odds on a Liverpool title, some fans not much better, yes Liverpool have been the most consistent SO FAR but ffs we are 8 games in, only 1/4 of the season. City have been through this before, they’ve proven over recent seasons they can go the distance. This is a long way from over & I still think we will get a couple of injuries & a couple of big guns will lose form as the season rolls on & city will close the gap. I’m being honest when I say I think city will still win it.

I only seen the highlights of our game but from what I’m reading/hearing from others we maybe just deserved the win. I can’t stand the saying “there was contact” when a player dives. FFS I’d love to see these dudes in the mosh pit at a rock concert, they’d spend the whole gig on the floor. Throwing the head back and arms in the air is so unnatural even if you get a touch on the leg. It’s bloody embarrassing to watch IMO.
For the record I think there was minimal contact on Mane but definitely not enough to go down like he did.
As a Scouser (adopted) it’s great to see manu struggling and just as good to see city go down again. This season is panning out a lot like last season though where we had a 7 point lead & I still think city will win it.

Might see a switch in formation today & hopefully see Shaq get a run. Would be disappointed with anything other than 3 points though. Expect manu to win as well, as someone said just when you expect them to lose they come up with a win, esp at home. city will do the usual & put half a dozen past relegation fodder (no disrespect intended, it’s just very likely). Tough one for chelsea but I’ve still got a feeling they are capable of coming good and finishing top 4, I think they’ll get a tough 3 points here. Toughie for the arse as well but think they’ll have to much up top. spurs are a strange one, could put half a dozen past them or struggle to a draw, just don’t know which team will turn up, being at home I’d predict the former & expect a comfy win for them.
Talk soon cyber chums, take care.
