Nine, I was just speaking from general experience mate. There are lots of domains online. I’m not just talking about certain forums.
Any place where it allows one to put forward a comment usually in light of a result other than a win, or if the team’s fortuitous in their result, you’ll see more knives out.
Just the nature of the beast and the run of the mill when any team is at the top. I do feel though, certain clubs are more targeted towards than others for reasons just as history, reputation, fanbase, geographical location etc.

Three Ps,
Sort of get where you’re coming from on the implications and the bigger picture. I.e. commerce and fans paying good money to watch their favourite Stars. A 3 Match ban e.g. would impact that. I wonder then where Officials are mindful of that and therefore reluctant to take any hard action.
I have heard fans mention a points ban.
I think clubs and their Managers should be warned formally/officially. There shouldn’t really be any favourable treatment. They should be punished just like anybody else or at least be warned about their misdemeanours.

Three Ps
Mentioned Ramos in another thread, that’s why I don’t read too deep into the subject in trying to find as solution. Besides, as far as forums/message boards go, it’s been exercised so many times and Associations out there have yet to come up with a resolution.
Maybe VAR next season could invest into it.

As far as diving goes, every season we just go around in circles and opposition players are dug out by opposition fans and we’re asked to ‘admit it’ that he was guilty.
No mention or recall of what Lamela did at Anfield last season with his theatrics, not to mention the treatment received by Salah by Sergio Ramos, yet nothing was done.
In my heart of hearts, based on what we’ve had to suffer with, if we get a bit of luck or the rub of the green, I’ll embrace it.

Had a revisit of all our results since the start of the season and couldn’t believe we’d won every single game of December.
We went 3 or months unbeaten yet some folk out there talk about is when we’re going to trip up or when we do ‘eventually’ lose a match to the Best Prem team, it’s “the wheels are off”.
We must have to be truly disliked or just plainly unpopular for not to be spoken about objectively or even highly. I get it. February will be a big month for us and I’m hoping we’ll be in better shape as far as recovery of our players go.

Good point on the shirt pulling – holding a player too and sort of wresting with him.
Remember seeing Heskey do this on Danny Murphy’s Free Kick for us at Old Trafford (Year 2000). What he did was place himself in the middle to break the United wall that opened up the Gap.
I would suspect for many decades, Managers have stressed in the Dressing room defenders to really get into the opposition, especially if they’re technically gifted and clinical. They’ll take their chances on pulling a shirt, wrestling or impeding the attacker player knowing that they stand a 50/50 chance in getting away with it during Real Time.

Officials and VAR can work together to try and eliminate diving. I wouldn’t label Mo Salah as some sort of a ‘serial’ diver. If that was the case, you see him in every other area of the pitch feigning injury. But it doesn’t excuse him trying to ‘buy contact’. Just let the Ref do his job.
I would be concerned based on that in favour of the Defender and a classic example was Raheem Sterling yesterday. I felt the Huddersfield defender won the ball fairly but it was the expense of unable to quickly pull himself away to the point of collision so Sterling is impeded and his standing position lost.
Something like that possibly down to Referee’s decision or there needs to be a clear definition whether or not that type of challenge would constitute a foul.

20th January 2019 at 9:47 pm in reply to: Spectators providing support/atmosphere reflecting spirit of the club #31802From a Business POV to notice even a localised area of empty seats, you would think to try and bring something in, creative. I may have mentioned this already, but at Wolves for example, the DJing works well and I truly embrace the concept as it puts in great spirit and makes you feel belonged and part of that community.
My Brother recently went to the Leicester – Man City game and they gave out a Beer on Turnstile Entrance. There’s a Top Bar and Restaurant there near to the ground that serves up a Grub.
If clubs genuinely pay attention and visualise Supporters and Fans and Humans rather than ‘Customers’ and ‘Numbers’, this will rub off instantly and those individuals in attendance regularly will be made to feel valued and appreciated.
I always felt too that these people are the Community and the Backbone to any form of Development and Progression.

Wowzers!
Think January is just a tough month so it seems for all concerned from a Business POV.
Pretty sure in viewing something online of an Interview/or some sort of a Conference with Pep, about “that is it for the time being” and because of the depth of squad and Wages to each player to factor in.
Makes me wonder now whether the Winter Transfer Window is taken up at all by The Premier League Clubs Collectively, let alone your usual suspects.
I note, the Vision re the New Stadium to relay foundations and prosperity and good luck to Tottenham. It’s a crying shame at the moment the way things are and if I was a fan of theirs, I’d be longing for a trophy, and that means for now, some reinforcements – certainly now in light of events from today – please do not sell yourselves short!
As for us, we’re not linked to anybody – not even a First Division Defender lol, ha! 😀 🙂

Good decent first half and enjoyed. Huddersfield look less vulnerable today and they’ve shown that right from the first whistle.
No walk in the park and City have had to work for their opener.

Don’t think that deserved a red. 50-50 challenge.

Fortuitous, but they all count. The Terriers had quite a decent spell before that strike.
Thought at one point looking as the Shirt Strips that they were Man City 😉 😛

Sean agree there mate.
I’m not really bothered about praise from others. 3 points is what matters. I’m not sure why one moment from Salah though is accentuated and paid so much attention to.
There’s plenty of other things too talk about. The irony too is that we didn’t even get anything for that dive, so don’t get the uproar.

I’m not sure whether Klopp has ever favoured a senior head or just somebody with a vast amount of experience in defence we could bring in like a Kalo Toure just to add steel or just be the glue that keeps it together.
Always been a fan of Laurent Koshielny. I like Gomez, but he is still new to the circuit and developing. We in my view need experience.
Milner sacrifized himself yesterday and took the punishment. Who knows what may have happened.
I can’t complain at all in waiting till the 30th. Think of it as a mini Winter Break for us and some time to recoup or rehab. We get through the next 2 or 3 fixtures with wins before Bayern Munich, we’d be in good stead. Can’t see City winning every single game even with a great squad depth as theirs.

Not sure whether the guys will be swept away for a mini break in the Sun – they just about deserve it after yesterday – ha! 😀
A bit of time out is just what they need.
Very important to have grinded out all 3 points yesterday as I feel and a slight fear that anything less and Man City are waiting in the wings to leapfrog us.
This would also grow in hope for Tottenham who are certainly not out of it.
Can see comfortable wins for both this afternoon – nice bit of Sunday rest and Sunday Lunch, and enjoy the footy and the Snooker Masters a little bit later 🙂 🙂

Two wrongs never make a right but football went in another direction for me when the Referee did very little for Salah in the Champions League Final last Summer. I totally detest Sergio Ramos, never forgive, completely stopped liking Real Madrid and withdrew my interest altogether from watching that category of football.
We do need to clamp down on those in habit of dishonesty, but in the same breath, I hear “it’s part of the game”.
What can we honestly do here as fans? Venting it too relentlessly on forums does not achieve anything but bad feeling and atmosphere amongst contributors (or at least that’s how it may come across).
