Was looking at our scheduling pre-season and pior to us playing Ispwich, play Arsenal and Man United as part of the tour, plus 2 more teams. I just feel its crammed in and I really hope we dont face again the situation we faced last time with injuries and lengthy ones too.

What about our headers saved off the line? Spain was shaking in their boots at one point; we came close once again.

What next guys? I feel proud of our guys despite all the criticism and flak coming out from various quarters. Really thought this was the one. Spain I don’t think were overly special, but they grinded us down with that little bit of quality they needed – just got caught out.

Sean, I think you might be right. Good analogy re Coventry. It was Liverpool too,but yeah the 58 year wait may finally come to an end 💫⚽️🏴🙂💯🎉👍🏻

Can’t disagree with that Gents. Trippier is unfortunately slow. I’m thinking Konsa, but he lacks the experience. We need tightening up a bit in the middle or alternatively, the wide men track back. The higher line against the Spanish will be risky as they are capable of picking us apart.

Sean thanks mate. Different approach with the formation playing higher up, pressing and effectively releasing the handbrake and pressing high. The tempo and the enthusiasm in the attitude and drive was the key, matching the dutch.
We will have to exact, if not, bring our A* game versus Spain on Sunday.
The goal down early was well managed in mentality, but we were a little bit lucky on the Pen and didn’t have to wait to long in finding the equalizer, so dynamics worked well for us above all.

Looks like we’re all in agreement judging by the comments; I thought I was dreaming on what I’ve been witnessing lol 😀 Cool heads 🙂

We’ve kept up with the momentum of pressing higher up and it seems this is the approach tonight that I was hoping for rather than being reserved in our own territory and just launching it to either flanks.
We are finding little pockets of space in the right areas and formulating more meaningful patterns of play that actually lead to an effort on goal. More ambitious and determination.

Been an enjoyable first half to be fair. Obviously happy with the Pen decision going our way. Foden etc are getting closer 🙂

Agree, individual quality is poor compared to previous decades. Personally, I think certain players are overrated and paid too much money.
Spain deserved it tonight; played Yamal 🙂
Not sure which England will turn up tomorrow night.

Strapping myself up for Weds 🙂 I’m calling it 1-1 and Penalties. I just wish for us to be adventurous than a bland Geography Exam Paper lol. Southgate’s about that at times hahaha 😀
Who do we strap for back 4? I think trying to play Walker for the full 90, we’d be out of our Depth against the Dutch.

Good Vibes; we’re through and the Pens look self assured. The scary bit is being reactive to being a goal down; perhaps flipping that to a 1-0 early lead and holding on to that render a turn around from the opposition.
Looking forward to Weds 🙂

Patterns of play from both teams now becoming repetitive. Hurried Chess!

This is like boiling Acid in a Beaker; France have somehow kept Portugal at Bay, but I think it’s only a matter of Time.

I liked Spain’s winner in the way it way delivered. I’m not sure what’s happening so far with France; the guy on the right hand side for example just aimlessly crosses the ball into the path of a cluster of Portugal players. Lol, he’s playing into the zone but nobody actually there to meet it 😀 Pointless!

Only really saw the ending of the Spain-Germany game but WOW! Heartbreak.
Ronnie or Mbappe? 🙂 Come on Portugal!

Spot on 3ps, completely agree with that particular ability of Walker that he is reliable tracking back because of his speed. He also rarely lets anybody get past him. Reminds me to a degree of Rob Jones mid 90s before his injuries.
The only other guy I would bank on is Kieran Trippier, but he is at the point of fading out; same age as Walker, 33.
What bugs me the most is that Southgate despite all these international friendlies over the months has yet to forge a regular settled 11 established. Stones at CB, I’m not sure about. Guehi and Konsa could work together as Dunk is also getting on and Shaw seems to be struggling because of his history of injuries.
Southgate should have had all this sussed and mapped out knowing how many good quality players of English that lacks in our league. Saka and Gordon should definitely be playing because of the pace they offer and we need that, plus their ability to run at the opposition. Otherwise it’s the same old same old pedestrian, ball passed sideways, and then just launched in the air, long-ball.

I’ll try and look at this from a different angle now I’ve had a bit of time to reflect 🙂 Maybe a hidden gem we have in leaving it till the last minute or dying seconds! Wow, happy we’re through.
Why don’t Southgate ever show some ooomph? Look at the late Bobby Robson and Terry Venables back in the day. Get the nation together. The players are there, but we need the right 11 selected to start the game and be more proactive in changing it bringing subs on more earlier.
This should be used as a springboard for Switzerland.
