Ive a feeling Szobo might be back for this one, nothing concrete, but if he is there’s a strong case to start him instead of Wirtz for this one for me. He may not play the full game but if he can give us 60+mins and when the game opens up it might be a better time to introduce Wirtz into the game.

Id keep Nyoni in for this one also, but a much bigger challenge for him.
We may see Iraola, however drop Nyoni and have a midfield of MacA, Szobo and Wirtz and then bring on Nyoni as a sub. I think this what Iraola will do if Szobo fit.
Our other midfield options means a significant drop off in quality.

It may be the case of Szobo playing 60+ as the 10 then dropping back into the double pivot for Nyoni.
Nyoni hasnt played many (any?) 90s yet for the seniors so with 85mins the other night playing more than 60/70mins in this one might be a struggle with the quick turnaround.

Possibility Isak or Gakpo make the bench.
We may know more after training today.

Agree Sean and Threeps.
Brentford is the real test.

We can only play who we’re drawn against in the CL, and in the case of last night it was an Austrian side who sit 3rd at the min.
The Prem league tends to be much harder, whether that’s one of the top teams, one of those sitting mid table or even those struggling at the bottom. Rarely are there any easy games.

Hopefully Szobo back for it and maybe Isak can make the bench.

Job done but it’s very slightly deflating due to the goals conceded.

Hopefully the 2 centre backs are injury free as it’s very unusual to sub both CBs at all nevermind at the same time.

For that last goal Frimpong far too easily bypassed while Tsimikas nowhere near his man who’s a danger.
For at least that one I’d be looking at the full backs.
