Was never a fan of Matic purely cause he passes the ball sideways and backwards too often without going forward similar to Carrick, Bakayoko is big upgrade on him once his fit. Its too bad for fans and Conte that Chelsea have to start the season without their better players injured or suspended and now another 2 suspended as well.

Got to say though, not seen much of young Master Ryan, but judging from your comments you see it as a plus… those two and who else? Still think Barkley will end up coming, then there’s the Diop chap who I wouldn’t know if he smacked me in the face with a smoked kipper, and possibly Martail?

Am I right in thinking that Paulinho who is joining Barca is the same one who was at Spurs? £40M – WTF? Maybe Banjo can put me right, but he was pretty ordinary, wasn’t he? Where did he go after Spurs offloaded him cos he must have pulled up some trees wherever it was?

HH… pretty ordinary is kinda complementary, to be honest. When we off-loaded him to China there was a bit of a party. No idea what he did there (did a youtube of what was “one” cracking goal) but the rest is a case for Moulder & Scully.

The fee (rumoured £40mil) just makes it even more bizarre. He’s 29/30 too. How does someone like that, deemed not good enough for top European sides, do enough in China to convince an elite club to spend that amount of money on him at that age. Just bizarre. Makes the Gravesen to Real Madrid move a few years back look entirely logical
