Well we might not have a fight for the title this season but the top 4 fight could be an interesting one now. Out of interest, from 2nd (Utd) down to 6th (Arsenal) which managers do people think would/wouldn’t survive finishing outside the top 4? I think Klopp and Poch are possibly the only ones who would almost certainly keep their jobs. Jose just signed a new deal but could he really survive finishing 5th? I’m not sure. Conte surely a goner if he doesn’t get in top 4?

Well that’s not taken long has it?! Another thread descends into chaos. Nil, I think I’m starting to agree with you, that you starting your own Liverpool Football Club FC Website may be the way to go for you. I’ll make that process a little smoother by removing your ability to post on here again, and this time indefinitely.

Yeah can’t disagree with either of those points Chucky. I think we’d see a hungrier Utd if the gap between them and City was smaller and the title felt within reach. As things stand, top 4 feels relatively secure and the title is well and truly gone so there’s little left to fight for. That’s slightly concerning though, as that could easily lead to complacency and falling out of the top 4.
It’s a dangerous place to be in with the expectations at the club because defeats lead to a loss of confidence and it can easily become the start of a downward spiral. Jose had better hope the players start performing in the FA Cup and CL at least

Easy to get carried away and start calling for the manager’s head after results like that but it really was just one of those games. We didn’t get the luck in front of goal and Newcastle put on a good defensive display.
As for the wages chucky, it happens! That’s football. In the same way Spurs struggled to get past a Newport side who pay their entire squad less than Spurs pay Sissoko, it’s just one of those things ?

Spurs at it again, diving, in an U23 game vs Liverpool
If you look closely you can see Lallana pull away at the last second, no contact is made. Another trademark spuds dive, the conspiracy against Liverpool is unbelievable. Also he's clearly offside pic.twitter.com/WqsvxUPTIY

I’m sure you’re right Nine. It’s pure speculation on my part. Assuming others sign the players though, IMO it’s not all that illogical to think those people could put pressure on Conte to play them after the club have spent a lot of money on them, so as to avoid making a loss on any of them. But I’m sure you’re right.
If not even slightly true, I’d have to question Conte’s justification for continuing to pick Bakayoko who looks, at best, out of form.

Pagan, I fully appreciate it’s easier said than done these days but (I know using Mourinho as an example is somewhat risky but hear me out) look at Jose benching Pogba and completely ousting a £30mil left back in Shaw. I know people don’t like him but there’s no denying he’s the decision maker at Utd.
The whole Bakayoko situation is very strange. He’s clearly having a horrid first season but is Conte being forced to play him? Did Conte want Barkley even, after recently saying “When there is an injury to one of your best players it is not simple, especially when on the bench the only substitute is Ross Barkley!”
From the outside, it looks like Conte is not making any of the decisions he wants to be making. That tells the players they can get away with not playing for the manager as he won’t be the man to drop them anyway.

This is certainly not a dig at Chelsea but they do chop and change managers more than most. Whilst it’s hard to argue against that policy, considering how many trophies it’s brought them, I do sometimes wonder if it’s a policy which ensures player power remains higher than it should.
If the players knew the board absolutely and unconditionally backed Conte, they might think twice about downing tools, as they appear to have done now for 2 consecutive managers.

I haven’t thought that far ahead but I’m only suggesting having some moderators there to deal with obvious trolls or drunken rants, certainly not posts which they just don’t agree with.
Fair point though, it could just escalate the problem. I need to have a think about it. I don’t want to bring Nil back if it means losing other posters.

If the general consensus amongst the posters is that Nil should be allowed back, then I’m all for it, after a bit of time away from the site anyway. It’s a difficult one, though, as I know some have just had enough now of the nonsense. A potential solution may be to let him back but appoint another 2 or 3 moderators so as to ensure things aren’t allowed to escalate. Leave it with me for now!

I’ve given Nil yet another enforced break from posting. Not quite sure what happened between the in-depth detailed analysis of the game post and calling Chucky a tit, but it’s becoming a joke now and so predictable.

I’m really confused now! It’s hard to tell who’s arguing with who. Nil, give it a rest. I don’t know how many times I’ve said now that this is not a closed shop for Liverpool fans. If that’s what you want in a forum, I suggest you look elsewhere

This angle shows Van Dijk clearly kicked Lamela. You can argue it wasn’t enough for him to go down but equally you can argue it was. Personally no complaints with the decision. pic.twitter.com/6lJWcNM35W

Even with VAR, these kind of calls are not easy

Can’t find a clip but here’s a pic. I’ll be honest, I didn’t see the first half as I was playing footy myself but sounds like it should have been a pen anyway
Should Spurs be 3-0 against United? ?
