Whether Bellingham makes it or not, it is embarrassing to retire the shirt number of a 17yr old kid who has had a few decent games. Would love to see Roy Keane being asked about this ?

Anyone know if this is a wind up or not? Surely can’t be true can it?! ?
Birmingham City will retire the number 22 shirt following Jude Bellingham's transfer to Borussia Dortmund.

I don’t really buy into these “we saw him first” debates when it comes to targets. Naturally, we read more news about our own clubs and their primary targets but a lot goes on behind the scenes that doesn’t even make the media. As far as we know, Chelsea have been chasing these players since they were kids. We really have no idea.
I realise you weren’t having a go Mak and that you were in fact praising Chelsea for their ruthlessness, but I don’t think we can ever claim that anyone is “our” target. I mean, Utd have been linked with Sancho more than anyone but there won’t be a club out there who hasn’t discussed the possibility of signing him, I’m sure. He isn’t “our” target because more column inches have been dedicated to our chances of signing him over anyone else.
Every club in Europe would have looked at Havertz, Werner, Sancho etc.

Mikus, I always said I’d be quietly confident as long as we went into that last game not needing a win. We’ve now done that. We’ve pulled back a 14 point gap from Leicester and closed a reasonable gap on Chelsea, too, so even that is pretty impressive considering where we were midway through the season.
Considering we couldn’t put West Ham away, though, I would not say I’m completely confident, no. It could be a false sense of security that we only need a point as we could be a bit too cautious, letting them come onto us. That could well suit us though.
I wouldn’t like to call it. I think we’d need the win for 3rd, though. My worry is that we’ve faltered at many crucial pats of the season. The amount of times Chelsea have slipped up, having played first, only for us to throw the chance away to overtake them is crazy.
We should have enough, but we have a nervy goalkeeper at the moment and a nervy goalkeeper tends to lead to a nervy defence.
1-1 I reckon with Chelsea getting a narrow win to take 3rd, meaning we’d get 4th. Slightly reassuring to know we get another shot if we do mess it up, though, with the EL coming up soon after.

Yeah City as low as evens (SKY BET). I think Chelsea will jump above Utd when their transfer business is done, too.

Manchester Utd

Sean, think you’re contradicting yourself a bit there. As you say, he’s been making mistakes since 2018, so no I don’t think 2 years of mistakes is writing him off too early. He’s been given the benefit of the doubt for a while now with everyone expecting him to just recapture his earlier form. Some keepers do just tail off. Joe Hart, Casillas etc.
That’s it Nine. Although I’ve absolutely no doubt we’d be able to find a buyer for him if we wanted to. Juventus would surely snap him up, PSG? Utd wouldn’t be asking top dollar for him with his wages in mind.

This could get tricky for Utd with Henderson. Very similar to the Cech/Courtois situation at Chelsea a while back.
Huge call to replace De Gea with Henderson but an equally huge call to let a rival snap him up. Henderson simply won’t come back to play second fiddle.

Sounds like City closing in on Ake now. I really think he’s a good signing for anything under £40mil

Yeah you need tons of views and clicks of the ads to make anything worthwhile really ?

Schools actually never closed over here in Sweden. Remains to be seen if that was a good decision or not but certainly has helped keep the economy alive with people being able to continue working.
Don’t think they’re open in England yet

Haha no worries Sean ?
Yeah I suppose the difference between the two is that England has tons of big Cities like Dublin so it’s obviously going to be more spread around the country. Obviously worrying either way!

Sean, is it really any better in Ireland? I googled “Ireland pubs reopen” and this was one of the first articles
https://www.thejournal.ie/pubs-restaurants-lva-drinkers-dublin-dame-lane-5142357-Jul2020/
Sounds pretty bad when you read that.
images of hundreds of drinkers, with little social distancing or mask-wearing, were a major concern.
Gardai walking around the streets in Dublin City Centre to make sure pubs are not breaking the guidelines on social distancing, serving food or time limits etc
Yet this is allowed on Dame Lane….. pic.twitter.com/4inEgsY2Rm

Yeah I know they’re pretty annoying on mobile. Again, I just want to give it another few days or so to see how everything performs before making any long term decisions. So far, I’ve made around £2 in a week so may even scrap the whole ads thing unless it picks up. Not really worth having annoying ads for ~£100 a year
