I remember Chelsea waiting 50 odd years for their second ever title (1st Premier League) of which I had been a supporter of well over 30 of them. When we finally did it the emotions were right up there, something I had never experienced. Enjoy the moment nil. The challenge now is to double up. BTW that Trent Alexander-Arnold takes one hell of a good free kick and I’ve seen a few of them now. Nice win v Chelsea overnight. Hope you enjoyed it 🙂

Trent freekick and also cross for Firmino’s goal were incredible alright. I think it was Mikus who asked if he’s the best since Beckham (for crosses , specifically) and he might be right.
As for the title, I loved seeing them all getting their medals, even though I was anxious the stream would be cut short and wanted to see the trophy lift but ya, it was all great, especially with the fireworks. The lack of fans was obviously a bit tragic but it didn’t take the sheen off it for me, as you could see how much they were enjoying the moment as a group.
I had a weird dream last night where Allison’s contract was up after that and he decided to leave. I remember wondering if he’d go to Chelsea but luckily for me, I woke up before I found out.23rd July 2020 at 8:11 am #133424EditorKeymaster533 pts23rd July 2020 at 11:18 am #133481maverick1973Participant627 pts23rd July 2020 at 11:21 am #133483steveosnakeeyeParticipant297 pts23rd July 2020 at 12:34 pm #13349823rd July 2020 at 1:32 pm #133511

Sean, I thought Liverpool put on a pretty good show for the trophy lift.
It wasn’t easy and it did feel weird with no fans to enjoy it with the players but I think Liverpool pulled it off as best they could given all the circumstances.23rd July 2020 at 9:24 pm #133697steveosnakeeyeParticipant297 pts
Can’t ask for more than a 5-3 end to end blitz with some beautiful goals from both teams at home and winning before picking up the trophy
Just add to the buzz!
Think Chelsea will spank us in the final unless we can pull another display out ….23rd July 2020 at 11:05 pm #133735

Just coming back down to earth 36 hours later. My kids aged 28 and 26 were round to watch it with me on Wed night, along with my daughters boyfriend who’s a United season ticket holder!! First time the kids had seen us lift that particular trophy, and my fears of an anti climatic result was unfounded. Great game with some great goals, and a good effort at a presentation. Still feel somewhat cheated in not being there to watch it live, but that is no ones fault, and we’ll just have to do it again next year!!
Another summer where I am confident we will lose no one we don’t want to lose, but still feel we should be strengthening in some areas, but we will certainly be there or thereabouts again next year.25th July 2020 at 9:27 am #134181
