I’m more worried about our game on Wednesday, that is the game I think which will give us £50m extra war-chest to rebuild our defence. I still think full-back and holding midfield is our biggest weakness and not centre back as people are leading to believe us. every time Zouma and Rudiger play together in recent times they kept a clean sheet. but both of our full-backs are not up to the level required to play at this level.

We also need an out and out holding midfielder who can hold and sit next to Kante and who is physically astute. if we can get a left-back who can defend plus Reece James in his second season to improve, and a holding midfielder who will sit there and protect the back four. our attack is very good with the addition of Ziyech and Werner. plus Pulisic, Mount, CHO, Barkley and Abraham that is if we can persuade Willian to extend his contract.

Our worst-case scenario could be a blessing in disguise at the same time. if God forbid we miss CL and we get the Europa, it could give us a platform to test our young and fringe players and another avenue back to the CL.

They say one bite doesn’t fill a stomach, and one good game doesn’t make a whole season. yes, he was magnificent yesterday but he has been terrible throughout the season. and Arsenal would have been up there in the top four if you deduct his mistakes. the other one was the entire Arsenal team defended deep and there were no spaces for City which they usually thrive to exploit. De Bruyne was not given enough spaces, but also City missed Aguero’s movement in the box.

The other problem that is a pattern to City is that they don’t have answers when teams defend deep and deny them spaces. it’s something that cost them the league this season. and Arteta knew that well when he set up his team to counter-attack City. I think Guardiola needs to have a plan B. as for Arsenal and Arteta, if they sign one or two players and keep their current players, they will be up there in the top four next season if not challenging the league.

Congrats to Steveo for Arsenal’s wonderful defensive performance. i was watching the media analysis and they were praising Arteta for what they have slated for Mourinho.?

I was reading from somewhere yesterday that Chelsea is due for £18m from Real Madrid for lifting the league, and £14m for qualifying to the CL that is £32m the original amount we have paid for Hazard, and anything else is a profit. I’m still wondering how did Marina pull that fantastic deal? and still, we are also in for more should Real Madrid win the CL which I think is next to impossible given the lead that City has.

Whatever may happen now and in the final two games, I’m happy with how our season has gone so far. were it not for our terrible defenders, we would have been closer to City and not in this top four dog fight. this season we have scored 64 goals and conceded 49 and our goal difference is 15+. we scored more than one goal United have scored but conceded 14 goals more. scored 3 goals less than Leicester has scored. so in terms of goal scoring, we are not disadvantaged, but in terms of defence, we are the worst. and considering that this is Frank’s first season, and Rome wasn’t built in one day, I’m hopeful that he will have the time to rebuild his defence. we never replaced John Terry though impossible to replace him.

I see a bright future for Chelsea and more progress next season. the pundit and rivals may knock Chelsea, but I’m feeling excited for the first time in years about the future for this club Real trusted Zidane without experience, the decision proved to be inspiring, Barca did that with Pep, United did that OGS, and we followed that route. the advantage for Chelsea is that Frank is a homegrown coach and has been at the club and have done it, and knows the demands as well as the supply routes. and I’m expecting his second season to even be better than now.

If i have to rate him i would give him A- for his season.

First of all, I was addressing Lampard’s progress as a manager and not Chelsea. so you missed me there when you jumped the gun there by claiming Chelsea have a £750m squad, again I was wondering how having a £750m squad to do with one’s ability as a coach. so the issue was specific to Lampard as a coach and not the club.

I’m neither the editor nor the moderator of this forum, so I don’t have the powers to let you or block you from any thread in this forum that you wish to post. so I was wondering why you choose to go that side.

Once again, if I repeat my point, I was rating Frank’s first season as a premier manager and not the Chelsea season. besides everyone is entitled to their opinion and the best way is to respect their opinion even if you don’t agree. you may not agree with what I posted and there are many other you will not agree with me, but on the other side, there are plenty who will agree with my assessment of Frank in his first premier managerial season.

You see i’m not speaking from the point view of a Spurs fan. i support Chelsea i know how the club works. Frank has nothing to do with Pulisic and Kovacic. and on top of that he lost one of the best player in the league. as for you saying Chelsea have a £750m squad, not sure where you Have got that. and i never expect a Spurs fan to say good things about Lamard given his history with Spurs during his playing days.

And if the media are giving him a free pass, it’s because he is humble.

Given the number of disadvantages that Frank has faced when he took over at Chelsea, the loss of our best player, the two transfer window ban. and he was written off by many including his own fans. part of that stems out from the fact that Frank has had one season of the championship level managerial experience under his belt. so many were sceptical about him earlier in his career. that coupled with the media stirring the pot at every opportunity. but I have to say he has weathered the storm impressively. whatever happens, whether we get or miss CL football next season. Frank has laid an impressive foundation for years to come.

Liverpool are on holiday already. they were just there for fun. i hope they still continue to be on holiday by the time we visit Anfield. but the Liverpool i knew didn’t turn up for the game tonight. and it’s in anyone guess which Chelsea and which Liverpool will turn up for that crucial for one team and meaningless for the other.

I have already bought my Sheffield and Spurs jerseys. plus I want the hammers to lose their next game, to still be in the relegation dog fight by the time they go to OldTrafford.

I hope Jose finally remembers the love he has for Chelsea and does the job for us by beating Rodgers. that could give us some breathing space. also, I hope our ex-captain and South London friends show some fight. if Sheffield beat Leicester, they will be only a point behind them. that is an extra motivation. but before that, we need to have the game of our lives at Anfield.

I would congratulate City for winning their appeal. that is good for the Champions League. managers like Pep and players like KDB and Aguero are star attractions. without offending Leicester, I would rather have City representing the PL than Leicester.

That one I have surrendered to already, United are playing some lovely stuff and had a shot in the arm when they signed Fernandez and the return of Pogba and Rashford has given them an extra boost. so where ever they finish and whichever they will finish I don’t know. but I had them in the top already.

Well, that was a heart beater! I haven’t been this anxious for quite some time. our defence has been nervous even though Norwich looked harmless. but the objective of the night has been met and that is the most important part of the story. over to you United and Leicester. I hope our friends from Sheffield and North London are up to the task. on the other hand, I would also expect our friends from the Merseyside to return the favour and tweak their line up at the very least since we have done the job for them earlier???. anyway, that is just a joke. but we need to play the perfect match to stand any chance from taking something at Anfield.

At this point in time our strengths like in utilizing Alonso and Reece James as wing backs. both have very good crossing range, both are attack minded fullbacks, both are not comfortable in defending in a back four system. so why not play to their strengths. Also include Azpi in the back three with Zouma and Rudiger. in Rudiger’s case whilst he is offline, at least he is better suited to standing to the physical challenges of Pukki than the weak Christensen. part of our defeat to the Sheffield team was down to the fact that we lost the midfield as Jorginho isn’t Kante and our players expected too much from him. and I now realized why Frank prefers Gilmour instead of Jorginho.

Keep Willian and Pulisic rested for the weekend Game, both are running on an empty tank. and instead play Loftus-Cheek and Barkley behind Giroud. 3-4-2-1 formation is our strength at this minute. we seriously need to win this game to put pressure on Leicester and United. i still can’t figure out how we are still third despite our problems. I would give Frank A+ in that case by managing to keep that defense in the top 3. our defence is the worst in the top 10.

Well, I’m not one to give their reaction in the heat of the moment. but that performance was the worst I have seen since Frank has taken over Chelsea. but the goodness is that we are very lucky that the North London teams are having their worst season for while, Leicester is crumbling at the perfect time, although we have. However, we have a resurgent United, we still have it in our hands. but I’m not still comfortable.

I would say Frank should revert to 3-4-3 in these 3 matches, and in the summer strengthen our defence. there is no reason in slating players here and there. our goal is to finish in the top 4 which we still have in our hands whilst we are having some slump, but thankfully our opponents are giving us a free ride.

I’m a huge fan of him, this guy is the dream of a coach. people make comparison with our best player of all time Eden Hazard, and I feel it’s a bit premature given that Pulisic is in his first season and Hazard has come and conquered the league in his own. but Frank has highlighted where Pulisic beats Hazard,
“I think with Christian he is possibly more direct in his style in terms of how he goes past players and runs off the ball, which I like”

“Eden would come and get the ball and take it past players a lot. I think with Christian he has the real ability to break a line and run forward which is a really great trait in the modern game”

The only concern I have from now and then is the rough treatment he will receive, and his injury record has been bad. if he stays fit, with Wener and Ziyech coming in, he will have help, and can even develop better.

At this minute Frank should restore Rudiger and bench Christensen. I think Rudiger has a good understanding with Zouma. with Kante to return, we will have some security. Reece James was also caught off guard at a times, but he is still young and learning so I have no complains there. pleased for Abraham, the lad has been out of form, and all of those injuries, I hope that goal inspires him to regain his scoring touch. I’m also pleased for Loftus-Cheek. but Pulisic is begging to remind me Hazard. although he is not there yet. but there are some promising signs he is on the right track.

Giroud is very important for our attacking right now. and I don’t think Frank would bench him. also, a big shout goes to Willian, I have always defended him and he has been my favourite player. but he is justifying the faith that Frank has on him now.
