Good win for us and a much-needed one after our last away game. Pulisic is turning out to be some player this season. I think Frank is thinking of selling his entire back four and keeper. you have to feel nervy every time a team attacks Chelsea. I’m not comfortable with Christensen there. he is prone to moments of a lapse in concentration.

Although a bit late, i wish to congratulate the Liverpool fans here, Sean, Mak, HH, and Nil. enjoy guys, what you club have achieved this season will be written in the history books. I’m pleased to say that we can take some credit for your title win by beating City (anyway it’s a joke). you have been impressive this season. and Klopp is the best manager right now.

Judging by how the two teams played, the draw was a fair result. didn’t see the United penalty so I prefer to reserve my judgement. but I saw that ridiculous dive by who? i don’t know, he should have been booked once they checked and confirmed it wasn’t a penalty.

Seems like United have won Sancho’s signature. and I thank the Lord for that. Β£120m for Sancho is not what we should rush to.

β€˜I’m happy to say that in Callum’s case, he has made great progress and almost feels his usual self, which is the news we all want to hear,’
β€˜I am of course aware that not everyone can or will recover from this virus, so I urge all of the football and sporting community to continue to act responsibly and look out for the health of others. β€˜I want to make it clear that I am no medical expert when it comes to challenging times such as these but please do take the time to call older relatives and vulnerable people who might be alone, or offer to drop round shopping if they can’t get out. Let’s make sure we all take care of each other.
β€˜Social distancing can leave us feeling isolated, however, we can continue to support each other even if that means doing it remotely. β€˜Of course, we still don’t know when competitive football will restart, but it isn’t worth worrying about that too much at the moment. β€˜We all miss football, but right now it’s about acting responsibly and in the best interests of society. I am sure I wasn’t the only one who found myself in a strange place with no sport this weekend, but ultimately none of that matters when we consider the bigger picture.’

When their game against Chelsea was postponed, Astonvilla has donated their entire staff lunch to the homeless people charity. that is a classic gesture and such humility in this era and age for the club is amazing.

Life is more important than football, and the decision to cancel all matches is the right decision. although this will halt the momentum that we had been building in our last two matches, but still that is the right decision.

I think we are missing a player of Hazard’s talents who could dribble opponents when they tighten between the lines and since Coutinho rallies on vision, I don’t think he will add anything to our current. and his form since he left Liverpool has been terrible, add that to his lack of physical traits and his poor work-rate. even Bayern said they won’t take the permanent option. and Barcelona is desperate to offload him.

Did I read you say you would go for Coutinho? you will never have back the Coutinho that was at Liverpool, that has varnished long ago mate. I will be surprised if Chelsea goes anywhere near him unless he is available on loan with a view of a permanent move. because buying him on his current form is not only a risk, it is also a bad signing.

How can assist be misleading? against Spurs, I watched the post-match assessment, and every football pundit I watched was waxing lyrics on Barkley’s performance, the only exception in his last five matches has been the Bayern one. against Spurs, he had an assist and nearly scored only the goalpost denied him the goal, against Liverpool he had a goal and an assist, against Everton he had two assists. that shows he is hitting form at the right time. the days of Frank Lampard like midfield is long gone. so I’m happy with Barkley’s recent performance but the challenge is, can he maintain that week in week out?

I won’t say Barkley had a terrible game against Spurs as he had an assist in that match, and only the post denied him a goal. as for Bayern, all of our team has been poor, sometimes teams can overpower teams, it has nothing to do with a player’s individual quality. the only thing that counts against Barkley is that he is inconsistent and has attitude problems, and I trust Frank to sort that out. watch out this space if he maintains this form could be the one to fire us into the top four.

I disagree with you on Barkley one, the boy has talents in abundance and his contribution in the last two matches has been extremely fantastic. the only challenge to him is, can he produce like that kind of performance week in week out? and on the bases of his last two games, he is on the right track in my opinion. at 26 he is entering the prime of his career. and what better coach to learn from than Frank? already I’m seeing improvement in his game in the last two matches. this season he has had issues with his discipline and fitness, and he says that is behind him now. and he is looking forward to helping the team. he should be kept in summer.

As for Christensen, I agree with you. the boy has been at Chelsea for 3 seasons and apart from flashes he hasn’t shown any progress, so it’s time to cut our losses and sell him. Pedro is giving Frank a headache now. his last two games have been superb. he was running behind the defences, something we don’t have when Abraham isn’t there. I agree with you also on the Batshuayi one. there is one single Chelsea fan who doesn’t agree with selling him. but as I stated in the past, I have my reservations about Koulibaly. the Premier League is different from Serie A, and at 30 this summer coming, he won’t have time on his side, plus the insane money that the Napoli chairman will demand. I will be surprised if Chelsea goes anywhere near him unless he is available on the cheap.

How good was Ross Barkley in the last two games? i have seen him play good one or two games a season and then switch back to his old self. but this last two games has given me hope that he can finally fulfil his potential. and at 26 he is at the right time.

Interesting result it has exceeded beyond my expectation. i would have taken a scrappy 1-0 but credit to the boys for that marvelous performance. i thought Pedro had an outstanding game today, i have to give him credit to him for his performance. i like how he runs behind the defenders. and i was one of his biggest critics, his last two games have been outstanding. also he started to run in behind defenses which gives our midfielders the chance to spot him.

I have also been impressed by Ross Barkley, credit to him for how he has turned his season. his last two games has been outstanding. three assists and a goal is fantastic. i was also one of his critics but if he keeps like this performance, he will be one of the best midfielders in the world. and i’m also pleased to see Mount score for the first time in 19 league games. how much confidence will that goal give him? i think that goal is huge for him.

Interesting that several players are hitting form at a crucial stage of the season, players like Barkley, Mount, Willian, Rudiger, Pedro and Giroud are hitting form at crucial time. and the young Gilmour is our answer to Bruno Fernandez. he is given the whole team a lift. i saw Roy Keane praise him, and you don’t see often Roy praise people and more so a young player. so this young man must be doing something special.

We have little margin for error now. we have lost an opportunity to get a day light between us and the chasing pack last week and to close the gap on Leicester. but this game is much tougher that the obe we have dropped points last week. i would have taken a point in tgis game and won the Bournemouth game. but bow we are under presssure to win this game now. especially now that our biggest rivals United are playing against City.

Who will play in midfield now that Jorginho is suspended, Kocacic and Kante are injured, RLC is lacking match fitness? i saw people suggest Reece James as one possible option, and that is not a bad choice to have. i can see Frank sticking Mount to play in the wing and let Barkley carry on in the middle. and if Barkley can produce half of what he has done against Liverpool, i can see us winning that midfield battle.

Giroud is the actual choice here, but the only regret will be, if Reece James plays in the middle, who will put crosses as Azpi is poor in crossing?

I don’t have that much to add with what my fellow blue army have already pointed. it was a performance worth to be proud. and the young Gilmour was the standout player of the night. Giroud has given a tough night to VVD, and that is what you need from your strikers, he was unlucky not to score with his shot that hit the woodwork. even Alonso of all people put a defensive shift last night. pleased for Ross Barkley, the vultures were circling at him, but last night he has shown his class, but the question is can he keep that level of performance game in game out?

I don’t know what to say about Pedro, on one hand, he has been wasteful and could have given the team under pressure, and on the other hand, he worked tremendously for the team. the one worrying factor from that match last night was the injury that Kovacic has sustained, I hope Frank took him off as a precaution rather than a serious one. he was one of the reasons why the young Gilmour has thrived as he has done all the dirty work and drove the team, and this gave Gilmour time and space with the ball.

I would say Deigo Costa was a consistent 20 goal striker as he has scored 20 league goals two of his three seasons at Chelsea. Drogba was the PL top scorer twice, Anelka has won once, there has been an elite number of strikers in the PL who has maintained consistent 20 league goal a season, Henry, Aguero, Shearer and recently Harry Kane who has joined that elite group. others have scored and sometimes missed. i would say our current striker was on target to reach 20 league goal before his recent injuries.
