Lads I think we need to be more fluid, we need more players capable of playing different positions, there might be a time for a old fashioned 442, there might be times for a 442 diamond, other times we need to play a 433 in some way or another. It depends on which low block we need to demolish, or which Champions League team we are playing but then again if we just find something that works every game we need to stick to it but we still need that threat of being able to change it up. Cause otherwise we will be found out in the long run, teams will learn how to combat our tactics.
I´ve been pretty vocal about what kind of profile I want as a forward for us, it´s basically any top target that can play over the front three or more positions.
No player can own any position unless he delivers over 20-30 goals and assists per season in the league, I actually want more to be honest. 20-30 goals and assists should be the minimum for a forward in the league.
We are pretty certain to get Diomande, we are so advanced in the talks I don´t see anyone else stepping in unless we give up and I do not think for a second that we will give up. If Leipzig wants more money that money will come in clauses such as winning the Champions League.
I can see him and Wirtz having a understanding on the wings actually. Diomande being more direct as a right footed winger on the right and Wirtz more of a playmaker left. In theory you can not leave one of them unattended and that would stretch any defense.
Then Munoz seems like a excellent squad player for now, he is one of the fastest in Spain, likes to dribble. I can´t remember another youth player that has attended both La Masia and Castilla and then gone on to say no to both of them and fight for his chances at a smaller club. I reckon his determination is out of the roof but we need to show patience with him, he is gonna look like Nunez in front of the goal.

I would be inclined to agree with you Bingo.
Arnie tried a few different formations to be fair to him but didn’t go to plan.
I don’t want a person coming in set in their ways but not open to adapting to different formations.
It would be counter-productive signing somebody, but then mis-matching his style of play or not playing him for the position we signed him for in the first place.
Absolutely about being flexible and unpredictable more than anything in how we set up and play to demolish low block or teams purposely parking a double-decker Bus.

I am a fan of how they are dealing with VAR at the marketing cup, it only takes a half a minute to get a call, we do not need to see a AI version of a line to know if it was a offside of not. Take this offside goal for Uruguay for example, I saw it was offside as the ball got passed behind the line and I actually did not understand why the flag went up then again there was another offside suspicion. Took 20 seconds to call it.

That was actually one of the best games of the tournament so far, that was warrior mentality, I loved how the ref allowed the game to flow. I´m gonna start rooting for Cabo Verde after that, they deserve to go into the knockouts. I hope they smash the Saudis but that would be a totally different game for them as both Spain and Uruguay possess a bit more going forward.

He played a good game Rob, Cabo Verde were very tight at the back during the final minutes, they closed the box and Nunez could only deliver a few good crosses into the box. I´d swap Gakpo out for Nunez, like I really doubt Gakpo wants to stay at the club, I don´t feel he is prepared to sit on the bench which is very likely to happen after this summer. Cause I can see Rio starting over 20 games next season and it is being proven that Wirtz plays the best in that position as well. We already got one winger in and are getting Diomande. I´ve heard a rumor today that the deal was finalized yesterday.

one thing about the Marketing Cup itself, Doku, I can´t believe the criticism he is facing. It´s not like he is ditching the World Cup, he is just going back to see the birth of his child. He will be back and can you imagine the morale boost his team mates are gonna experience, when he comes back all smiling. There was a healthy discussion about it here in Iceland with Eiður Guðjónsen and Arnar Gunnlaugsson talking about and they went into overdrive to make the point. The score was 4-5 births between them and their wives, all witnessed in person. Then the interviewer started crying, it made me tear up.
