I turned it off at the ad break in the 2nd half. So boring, very anti football tactics by Argentina. Glad Spain won but its a final that won’t be remembered for anything positive.
Now back to proper football!

In fairness threeps i had
lost a bit of faith in the standard of football last season but i thought wc was very good. Some excellent goals, games and general playPl was desperate last year. Really poor.

This was pretty much the vibe received on other platforms. It was definitely over the top and overwhelming. I mean, does Tom Cruise and Madonna really need to be there? I can understand former players and ones of which well known and have achieved in their career, but this really was like a showbiz cheerleader commercial break fest.
People paid absolute ridiculous money to travel and watch this.
I enjoyed the 5 weeks and was getting used to the matches appearing daily even if the kick off times were a pain in the backside. But it was about players playing football getting their focus on and the officials more up to scratch than the Premier League. Good longer format so shall look forward to that.
Chosen locations for future World Cups however you’d think there’s a money driven agenda behind it.

Don’t get me wrong Sean I agree there were some good games and I liked the genuine top scorer race between some absolute megastar. I think a good WC needs megastars, either already made or in the making.
But that final was dross and I cannot put any blame of Spain. Not the most exciting side ever but they are efficient and affective, worthy winners.
Player of the tournament always comes from the winners so no argument over Rodri who was superb. Big shout to Cucceralla who I thought was excellent also, and young Cubarsi.
Tuchel must have regrets, should have been England in the final which would have been a far better game. He played right into their hands.

that final ends in a pretty disgraceful way, I hope those players that started the fight get a long ban, I´m talking about 6-9 matches, I´m really thankful Spain won. Football would have lost with Argentina, they played too dirty. Few bans and Infantino out, that would be nice. The bloody carrot was there as well, good to see the whole Spain team ignore him as well.

I felt we left on a Positive note securing a Bronze medal. The attitude of the players in my mind has changed and they seem to be able to believe in themselves and have faith in their abilities.
Football matches will resume in September when the Nation’s League comes in, plus other international matches.
We can push on from this for sure.
I always felt with Argentina, we played into their hands and got drawn into the occasion more than the game itself.
