Watched a good bit of it and thought Mbuemo looked very limited for one of our supposed star players. Said it at the end of last season, he needs a long spell on the bench.

18th July 2026 at 8:14 pm #250788If this transfer window doesn’t improve dramatically, Wilcox must go at some point, he’s fucking clueless. And these transfer picks must have been signed of by that big soft geordie cunt Carrick who, btw, is reportedly looking forward to coaching Rashford. It’s fucking embarrassing.

18th July 2026 at 8:52 pm #250796With regards to the preseason game, even though I have seen fuck all of it. Personally I don’t pay much attention to the performance or result.
Although saying that I have a feeling at the end of the season. The general consensus will be one step forward two back.
Hopefully I’m wrong_____________________________

19th July 2026 at 7:09 am #250818I don’t understand it tbh. We have Mainoo and Bruno in midfield, we needed a player sit between them to win the ball back but can also play football. We have spent £85m and I don’t believe we have done that.
We also paid Chelsea £50m for a reserve that strengthened their position to spend £117m on Rogers. A player that on paper improves their first eleven and the type of player we should be going for.
I get we need extra bodies this season and plugging those gaps is important but WTF. We are either skint or we do not have a clue what we are doing.

19th July 2026 at 7:20 am #250821Chelsea will get most the £117m back buy selling Garnacho and Santos. It’s not working out on the pitch at the moment for them but sooner or later it will. The difference is they know what it takes to sign potential or top players and more importantly offload them when it fails.

19th July 2026 at 9:17 am #250829Agree it seems we are shopping in the bargain basement but also have to say that the fees being paid for the likes of Anderson and Rodgers are fucking insanity. Don’t know how i’d feel if we were paying those fees for those players.

19th July 2026 at 9:32 am #250830Hate or love the way the likes of Chelsea and the rest do business; but no one can deny the ruthlessness as they get rid of whoever needs to go.
Maybe Bruno will be sold hence why Tielemans was signed 🤣🤣 but a real Defensive minded midfielder is needed and they wanted to wait after signing a replacement before selling Ugarte but now stuck with him for the rest if the year. 40M could’ve been gotten for mount already but they chose to keep him.
Furthermore, the decision to retain Carrick is something i still strongly believe will also come back to haunt the club.

19th July 2026 at 9:54 am #250835Diggy – Whilst you can never condone a defeat to Wrexham, learning that they are weeks ahead of us in terms of their pre season at least offers some mitigation. I see Zirkzee missed a sitter again yesterday and we just simply have to upgrade him if we have any ambition. I’m pretty confident we will get the signings in that we need this summer, probably another 3 first 11 players. But i do share the fear of others about whether those signings are going to be good enough. Which is what happens when you let your top 3 transfer targets go.
I suppose we can’t have it both ways. We either get ripped off for our top targets or we go to a more affordable list and pick up some players for better value. People on here will obviously moan either way!_____________________________

19th July 2026 at 10:05 am #250837Zirkzee did not miss a sitter mate, don’t know where you got that from. Yes, he had a shot, the only attempt all day I think, but not a sitter.
Agree N1xer, it’s a dilemma mate. We are definitely bargain basement and yes, the fees for Anderson, Tonali, Rogers etc are ludicrous. But if we don’t start buying big and better we’ll be going backwards at a rate of knots. By the time this window closes, all the top teams will have kicked on again and we’ll have stood still. Truth is, we’re not going to win anything with a midfield of Santos, Mainoo and Tielemans. It’s a fucking shambles that this once mighty club that every PL player used to want to play for has become so fucking average. What’s the answer? Fuck knows.

19th July 2026 at 10:39 am #250842@Jm1502, we may have missed the opportunities to go big for central midfield. If Barcola is available for £110-£120 would you go for him?

19th July 2026 at 10:43 am #250843Jumpers – Why do you say that? Because we didn’t pay £116m for Anderson? Or because we didn’t pay £85m for Fernandes? Or £100m for Tonali? Curious to know. So far we’ve replaced Casemiro with Santos and Tielemans and we’re now looking for a Ugarte replacement too. Malacia left so we’ll b replacing him and we’ve got the back up GK in the replace Onana. Once we find a home for Rashford we’ll probably bring in someone like this Summerville lad who is super quick to compete on the left with Cunha.
The only position that will be undercooked is up front as no real back up for Sesko. I don’t think its a disaster. Not yet anyway!!!

19th July 2026 at 10:59 am #250846We’ve bought bargain basement happy, just fucking admit it man. And Santos was completely left field. I don’t think anyone saw that coming and if it doesn’t work out…
As for Summerville, average. I remember that fucking donkey David Bellion we bought from Sunderland back in the day being as quick as fuck. Trouble is, he was shite.
Barcola for 100 million + Jumpers? Probably mate. I’m fast coming to the conclusion that if we don’t compete at the highest level, we’re fucked.

19th July 2026 at 12:21 pm #250850Happy, how many clubs are going to let their best central midfielder leave later in the window? The longer we leave it the more the other club will try and strengthen their bargaining position and ask for more.
Chelsea also paid £18m for Santos and made £30m profit. How was that good business for us?

19th July 2026 at 12:35 pm #250851Chelsea making a profit off the santos deal is because they recruited him when he was unknown.. took a gamble on him and then sold him for profit so the onus is on the so-called scouting department at UTD who have failed over time to recruit these unknown players.
Also loosing to Wrexham should carry zero excuse @happy irrespective of them having had pre-season ahead of our lot; they are still WREXHAM .. Zirkzee shouldn’t still be a United player and that can be said for a lot of players still at the club.

19th July 2026 at 1:45 pm #250855I think we were looking at Andrey Santos when Chelsea got him. Vivell was there at the time and moved for him before we could, he asked after him in the January window just gone as well and then got him again in this window. He must really rate him
