Agreed, now that they have CL football, he won’t leave and they won’t want to leave him. At the same time, apparently he wants to win trophies so he might push for a move regardless. Then the question would have to be, why come to United? We’re a country mile away from winning anything at the moment.
In terms of midfielders, I know we were linked with him because Carrick arrived but is Hayden Hackney any good? Anyone been watching the Championship? Would he be worth a punt?-

19th May 2026 at 5:54 pm #246480He’d still be 100% better than your mate Onana even if he was 50 years old and had no arms or legs!😂😂😂

19th May 2026 at 7:38 pm #246482Yeah Rodgers will no doubt stay another year at Villa unless they get a ridiculous offer for him. Tbh I was thinking more the summer 2027 perhaps. Providing he’s form doesn’t drop off a cliff and we’ve got CL football.

19th May 2026 at 8:04 pm #246483regarding midfield, is anyone else concerned we are going to find someone to play with mainoo and just have the two of them in there? no matter who it is, I think we’ll get overrun in midfield without having 3 in the middle. that being said, we can’t just buy 2 ready to go midfielders, we need a minimum of 3 which doesn’t sound likely.

19th May 2026 at 10:01 pm #246505Don’t hold ur breath mate; let’s just hope if they get 2 or 3 midfielders one out of the lot should at least deliver consistently.

21st May 2026 at 6:59 am #246596Yeah, I’m worried bob. With Casemiro and Ugarte (hopefully) moving on, we need at least replacements for them, plus another. But I fear that with all the recent hype from the bullshit media around Mainoo, United see him as a shoe in and may only need one more. Personally, due to his lack of pace and physicality, I don’t see Mainoo as the answer to controlling the middle like Vitinha does for PSG. It’s a worry with the usual clowns deciding incomings.

21st May 2026 at 9:39 am #246607Well, if we get rid of all the players we definitely want rid of:
Bayindir – £35k (supposedly going back to Turkey)
Onana – £138 (wants to come back, some fucking hope)
Malacia – £75k (leaving on a free)
Ugarte – £120k (wants to leave to get first team football)
Casemiro – £350k (leaving on a free)
Zirkzee – £105k (still in demand in Italy)
Rashford – £270k (conflicting reports, reported this morning that he has agreed terms w/ Barca)
Sancho – £200k (leaving on a free)
Hojlund – £153k (Obligation triggered, definitely leaving)That’s £1.5m a week, approx £6m a month, £72m p/a, not including any fees we might get for them
On top of that, I’d say we’d take good offers for:
Shaw – £150k (anything over £20m would be hard to turn down with only a year left on his contract)
Dalot – £85k (APPARENTLY, Bayern, Real and others want him)
Mazraoui – £135k (has been average at best for us, anything over £20m would be good business)
Mason Mount – £150k – I’d take £25-30m for him, Coventry are apparently interested on loan, make it an obligation if they survive the drop and I’d say done deal)
That would be another £550k off the wages, although I doubt Coventry would be able to afford Mounts £150k a week. They might pay half or slightly more._____________________________

21st May 2026 at 9:41 am #246608With Carrick staying Shaw and Mount won’t be going, he’ll be loyal to British players.

21st May 2026 at 9:48 am #246609I’d say we’ll keep Shaw being honest, purely because we have other areas we want to prioritise. By all accounts Mount is on the chopping block, not because he’s bad, rather because he’s never fit.

21st May 2026 at 10:23 am #246612The problem is that we need A LOT of players to be anywhere close to competitive:
– Right Back (Dalot is not good enough)
– Left Back (unless dorgu plays there)
– Centre Back (at least one beast of a player who is always fit)
– 2 CMs (at the very least)
– a natural LW
– potentially a backup striker for Sesko (assuming Mbuemo and Amad take the RW spots)That’s 5 or 6 first team players as well as 1 or 2 backup players… quite the cost.

21st May 2026 at 10:39 am #246614Shaw won’t be able for a season of twice a week games, the leg he broke won’t be able to handle it. Dorgu and Diego Leon will definitely get some game time there, if Diego Leon is deemed good enough. Don’t know how much of an impression he’s made this year so far.

21st May 2026 at 11:46 am #246619Mount should be one of the first names to be sold … he will be earning 250k+ just to sit on the bench or give mediocre performances. He isn’t a natural CM or Winger and i rather play Cunha at No.10 than Mount.
Shaw was stable this season and will survive until next season at least.

21st May 2026 at 11:55 am #246622If Diego Leon was any good he’d been in the first team squad by now. Same as Shea Lacey who everyone bangs on about, who clearly mustn’t be good enough. As for Harry Amass, do me a favour. These guys must be nowhere near good enough. Fuck me, it’s only two minutes since some on here were waxing lyrical about Toby Collyer.
