The defence is a horrorshow for us and comedy gold for rival fans. If we don’t get new blood in I expect that we concede at least two goals in every game in PL. That’s how bad it is.

27th August 2026 at 10:18 pm #254640I was talking with a united fan the other day and we could only think of one player we agreed on who we are pleased is at united. that’s bruno. admittedly he had a bit of the happyhurling about him because he also said he liked dalot but he’s a young man and doesn’t remember the days when we were any good. he’s just happy that dalot tries. that’s how bloody far we have fallen.

28th August 2026 at 9:36 am #254662I see two of our youngsters have been picked up by Arsenal. How the fuck they expect to break into Arsenal’s first team squad is beyond me, particularly when they weren’t considered good enough for us. And the lad Devaney, 19, off to Hibs for a year long loan. Another one bites the dust. And you have to wonder why, when we’re crying out for a left back, why Diego Leon, 19, another one of our so called wonder kids, isn’t considered good enough.

28th August 2026 at 9:58 am #254665@jm The club doesn’t give much chances to young players and as for defensive reinforcements i think they might sign a LB and that’s it. Deligt is back and they’re not selling martinez so they won’t be signing a new CB.

28th August 2026 at 11:30 am #254669happy, we do need some positivity mate, albeit I haven’t checked his bank records to see if he’s kosher. I just wonder, and have for many years now, when our fanbase will start to really shrink given it’s been bad for so long. once that happens, if indeed it does, then we might get an all out sale to someone with very deep pockets and we can wipe the debt. of course the irony is our spending power will have depleted by then under the current rules and so too our by-rights advantage in the market from a financial point of view. how do you stay so positive through all these years, happy? genuine question, mate.

28th August 2026 at 11:33 am #254670Ndiaye apparently on his way to City.. yet some on here said he wasn’t good enough to play for us…

28th August 2026 at 11:46 am #254671I’m personally not a massive fan of Ndiaye, good player but not someone I’d be wanting to sign. He’s just another one of those second tier players who’s now considered to be in that very popular 70-80 million quid bracket. Fuck me, that’s just about anyone with pace who can trap a ball. The world’s gone fucking bonkers

28th August 2026 at 11:48 am #254672As for Dalot, you don’t have to remember the old days to know that he’s a fucking donkey bob. Your young mate wasn’t wielding a fucking crack pipe was he?

28th August 2026 at 2:06 pm #254679JM – Ha ha the crackpipe is very under-rated mate! I think a lot of these sums of money are being splashed around to avoid FFP rules. Some Sky reporter was saying that swap deals don’t work very well with FFP. But If Rogers goes to Chelsea and then Garnacho goes to Villa the same money works for both clubs in a positive way for FFP. Delap going for £50m to Forest probably means Chelsea will over pay for a player from the Forest owners Greek club. Or Villa will over pay for a player from Strasbourg – just ways of moving money around that seem “legit”.
It’s all corruption._____________________________

28th August 2026 at 2:23 pm #254681Bob, the opposite is true with regards to the rules and our spending. Other clubs are complaining that we massively benefit from how the new rules work. I think us and Arsenal are considered to be the biggest winners from the new spending rules.

28th August 2026 at 3:54 pm #254686@jm aside from the likes of Mbappe, Haaland, Yamal, Vini, Olise, Dembele etc
Which other players do you actually rate?? I am curious and don’t limit it to just attackers.
We don’t have a player who beat his marker easily with d ball, create space intelligently for his teammates or the least thing in football put a simple good cross into the box.

28th August 2026 at 4:26 pm #254692There are plenty of players I rate as good Dee, you may recall I described Ndiaye as good. But every cunt’s granny is going for over 60 million these days mate. In fact fairly ordinary players like Anderson are going for double that. I just don’t get it.

28th August 2026 at 8:22 pm #254712Dee, I’m inclined to agree with Jm in the main regarding talent. Yes there’s the obvious players that you’ve mentioned but fuck me how much would those players cost in this transfer window.
It seems that any player who can pass it 10 yards forward is now worth excess £100 million. Furthermore they’re not want I would class as game changers. Unlike the ones you mentioned._____________________________
