We used to play football at school using our coats and bags as Goalposts and sometimes the amount of people piling on their belongs made each Goalpost bigger, so when the ball struck it, it opened to debate the size of the posts 😀

I’m not sure hether it’s down to trust on Fabinho, but you might be right. Clearly Henderson was picked ahead of him in a conventional 4-3-3, but what looked to be then changed to a 4-3-2-1 was better suited.

Henderson frustrates me because he’s a Captain yet, hardly exerts any leadership qualities. He’s not consistently putting himself out there as a figurehead and somebody who could grab the game by the scruff of the neck.

Van Dijk for me a whole lot better. Hendo has always been more into the habit of the short sideways pass. What use is that? All that allows is time for opposition players to track back and make things difficult. He’s been at the club for a fair few years and should really be setting an example.

I do feel both Keita and Fabinho are already ahead of him, but I’m thinking maybe Klopp is trying to be careful how much he uses these players because of the number of games and maybe didn’t want to risk them picking up an injury.

Sure, Hendo has a tackle in him, but I’m afraid he’s no where in the league of Fernandino and simply does very little which away from home against Man City a game of such magnitude effectively left us short of optimum quality in midfield.

It’s not so much sour grapes from my end as I’m quite cool now that the dust has settled. I’m septic on that cartoon type imaging and how they are actually delivering the accuracy, because there was more than one angle that clearly showed the whole of the ball inside the goal mouth.

Do they take that into consideration when assessing or is it just some machine, I wonder.

To be that little more pedantic, the width of the lines marked are wider that the actual goal frame which would explain the 11 millimetres.

Flawed if you ask me mate.

Alfie @1:24, very true mate. I mentioned all that yesterday and annoyed at Henderson because he’s a journeyman and offers nothing these days. He’s got it in him to be a better al round midfielder and in the past I have sung high praises for him, but it’s increasingly vivid now that we have Fabinho and Keita, how physically balanced they are on the ball not to mention forward-thinking to the front 3 with dribbling ability.

Henderson just does nothing.

This begs the question on this thread whether or not last night was judgement. All I keep hearing and reading “City back in it”. Gods honest truth from my point of view was that I never saw them out of it in the first place. Neither Tottenham.

I don’t pledge on 10 a ten point as out of sight and the nuances too when we’re just barely come over the half way mark of the season.

It’s as always certain quarters of the Media. They keep chipping away and Klopp’s press conference after the game was one of the best ever as he eloquently and emotionally too reasoned well with the media explanation why both him and the team don’t ever get too carried away. This is purely because the club have not had that experience for nearly 30 years in getting over the finishing line.

Keeping feet firmly on the ground and not being swayed by the tide is so important. The Media will always receive a win-win outcome because they’ll always find a way to print a headline.

It’s might well be too a blessing that we lost because if it was a 12 point lead open, the Media would probably pronounce us as Champions. That is just plain wrong and of course disrespectful to the other PL teams.

Significantly, the white line markings show more thickness in width against the Bar of the Goalmouth, studying the footage when paused. The ball is in.

I know now exactly how Tennis players feel, and plus, VAR should be in place to be able to overrule this.

Again, the whole of the ball from another angle on 0:20 shows it crossed the line.

Weird and a bit spooky lol. I don’t know ‘scientifically’ how the technology has reached this conclusion.

It’s easy to feel sorry for ourselves and look in the direction of injuries. A great shame about Gomez, and no Matip too. Of course, Ox is still out for us, but Man City have of course missed key players too.

It’s evident for me that the Captaincy should now be handed over to Van Dijk. Henderson’s no real leader. At best now, like Lallana, he’s a squad player. I truly hope this season we do win Silverware irrespective of whichever the trophy from the competitions we can compete for.

We are on the right track and have a quality first 11, but it’s the squad we still need to work on and perhaps in need of at least another 2/3 top quality players.

There’s plenty of football still to be played. As mentioned in my previous post, we should take things into perspective. Nothing was won prior to this game.

The difference now being, a 4 points reduction. And yep, I WOULD NOT rule out Spurs.

A race is exactly of that where challenging teams or teams on par with each other can change places over the course of the season.

Albeit being caught out for their second goal, I thought we were the better of the two from the second half. Pep out of these two latest fixtures clearly has been more defensive minded and encouraging more physicality out of the players which in the first half we struggled with.

A little perspective and we’ve been blessed in all fairness – to be where we are with 4 points ahead to our name, I’d be thankful.

I don’t feel upset as such, just disappointed by nature of losing the game and selling ourselves short in midfield.

Although nothing can be taken for granted, we got a good run of fixtures and can’t see us drop too many points.

Looking forward to a change of scene with the Cup game.

One huge criticism for me on team selection tonight is starting Henderson; Keita would have been better as with Fabinho too. By all means, rest these guys for the cup game, but we needed muscle and somebody to engineer defence into attack.

Henderson offers neither and Milner is not up to his optimum in my opinion because of recent injury. By playing Keita and Fabinho supplements Wynaldum and collectively, the Midfield is solid and offers the front 3 creativity.

Not really a great deal to say on Lovren as Lovren is Lovren.

Perhaps a new face could be bought defensive wise in January, but the question is who?

I’m more than convinced that I can’t see us lose a game and if anything, go on another unbeaten run, but as they say, time will be the judge.

2 exquisite finishes from both Aguero and Sane reduces the gap to 4 and well done to Man City – great camaraderie between these two sides in recent seasons.

One could argue the best game of the season.

From what I saw in the much improved second half, I am truly proud of the Reds. Although, it was the physical battle tonight that was our weakness, we showed more resilience and character and proved we don’t crumble like we have done in the past.

We forced City to defend greatly and perhaps if this was a 120 minute Cup game, we might have found an equalizer. The monkey is off our back and we lost to the Champions, but as mentioned, proud, and we still hold TOP SPOT. YNWA
