Everton have really bombed haven’t they so far? Koeman could be in trouble if they carry on. I must admit, I bought into the hype around them.
I almost forgot there was a game tonight. You see Bournemouth vs Brighton and easily forget it’s a PL game!

Hightown, I think you’re right re the banner. My first thought was that it must be a windup. In the unlikely event that it is true, it would be silly anyway as it is clearly not representative of any reasonable amount of the supporters’ views.

Hopefully there will be no more of those issues with logging in now. It’s a real balancing act to keep out the bots/spammers and prevent real users being locked out. I think the issue is resolved now though.

Oz, sorry to hear you had those issues. I’ll have a look at it. I had to put some things in place to prevent spam signups as I was getting 10-20 fake signups a day. Where were you trying to post?
I certainly can’t promise there will never be issues on this site but I can assure you that I will resolve any issues that arise asap.

That’s a big win for Spurs that Paxton. Terrible decision at the end to send off Vertonghen. Sounds like both City and Spurs have benefited from the Walker move, with Aurier looking strong too

I think he’ll be a top player for Utd. As you say, he’s been a bit hit and miss so far and you’d have expected a bit more of that Vieira-esque fight in him. I’m not sure he’s that kind of player though. I’d say he’s much more like Toure than Gerrard/Keane/Vieira.
France seem to know how to get the best out of him. He completely ran the show in the last game against England. He made Alli and Co look like schoolkids.
I think he’ll eventually grow into that leader role for the club. The fee won’t weigh as heavy on him this season, being no longer the most expensive player, so I think that will help him settle into the side quicker.

You could be right Jim. Mourinho knows how to close out the big sides better than most. City, I think, are quite capable of outplaying the Barcas/Madrids and so on, but could just as easily go out to a lesser side. I don’t think we’ll be outplaying any of the top sides.

Too right 999. I’d add PSG to that list now though. I think City are probably the best equipped of the PL teams to go furthest but they still seem some way off the very best in Europe.
Hightown, I reckon that’s good bet. I think Spurs might be the ones to let you down though,unfortunately

@Mike welcome to the site. It’ll be interesting to see how the Ox gets on there. I think he’ll be a decent addition to their squad which was severely lacking in depth. His development stalled at Arsenal but I sometimes wonder whether Arsenal are the problem there, rather than the player. How many young prospects have fulfilled their potential under Wenger within the last decade or so?

Yeah it would have been incredibly difficult for him to break into that City side Jim. I hope Foden gets some games. He looks a real talent too. I hope for City’s sake, they’ve built in a buy-back clause otherwise just in case. Never nice to see young players leave your club through lack of opportunities to then have to buy them back for a world record fee!
Yeah Banjo, fair play to him in that sense. He has big boots to fill there, that’s for sure. It’ll be a big test of his character to go there at his age and make a success of it.
