Have to agree with you Nil. Bring back Pellegrini, definitely a class act and City should sack Pep now and look in to bringing back another gentleman in Mark Hughes. Not being biased as I am just looking out for City here.

Giggs is a surprising one. I reckon it is just bookies trying to make some easy money. I am going for O’Neill getting the job.

            I’ll do the honours.

Basically Nil, what Banjo and Jim are implying is Lallana, Clyne, Lambert, Mane, Van Dijk and Oxlade-Chamberlain via the Arsenal.

The massive increase of foreign players only means one thing as soon as the big spanish come knocking, they are off. These players grew up watching and following Barcelona or Real Madrid, especially South American players. Their heroes when they were growing up played for these sides i.e. Ronaldonho, Ronaldo, Romario, Maradonna, etc.

                Pagan-

Agree with that. I guess we have to wait and see what happens with Chelsea.

                9-

That is true. That goes hand in hand with what Pagan said earlier in regards to City. City have adopted a European ethos. The only thing different is the manager has the final say at City. I cannot see the likes of Walker, Silva, Jesus etc being signed without Pep having the final say. English football clubs in general are run differently to the likes of Bayern, Real Madrid and Barcelona. Conte may have got a few of his targets, from the sounds of things he was thrown players to him without him having a say.

In general I believe Chelsea are taking a massive risk with Conte. He is one of a few managers out there that has a vision in what he wants with his football club. He is like Klopp and Pep and has a philosophy. You know what to expect from the likes of Ancelotti, Jose etc who come across as stopgap managers.

                  Pagan-

I understood your point. My point was that the manager has the final say in transfers at most top clubs, but with the exception of Chelsea. Conte has come out and said that the club have ignored his targets and gone for alternatives.

Chelsea are yet to prove they are going the direction that you’re suggesting. If Chelsea end up with Simeone, you have 2 different type of managers in Conte and Simeone. Simeone is just as cautious as Jose with his football. Whilst I agree at City they opt for attacking minded coaches and it makes the transition easier. But in general the manager has the last word on incomings. Going back to your commitment comment, do you think Conte would have commited if the board backed him and allowed him to build on last seasons success?

Wow 146m for Coutinho. Well done to Liverpool. I wonder how much Messi Lingard would go for in todays market.

                      9- Haha

Jose can be petty at times and I partly disagree with his spending comment, I reckon he deluded himself in to thinking he had a better squad that what he actually did have. Van Gaal bought a lot of deadwood. Reason why he has gone off on one in regards to spending etc.

                      Pagal-

The players Pep bought over the summer were his choosing. Just like the players the summer previously were his choosing. I agree that lack of commitment may force Chelsea board in to not following up on the managers request, but commitment works both ways. If Conte feels the board have let him down with targets, then why should he commit to the club when they refuse to allow him build the squad he wants that implements his style. Look at Klopp at Liverpool, he is slowly building a brilliant side with players he knows that will adapt to his style. If Klopp was at Chelsea, would he been given the same freedom? If he was at Chelsea and asked for Van Dijk, the board would have given him David Luiz.

United are currently 2nd, in to the knockout stages of the CL and are through to the next round of the FA Cup, that is a massive improvement from last season. If that is United and Jose in a massive meltdown, where does that leave the other PL clubs.

Conte this week hit out at the Chelsea board again. There is uncertainty over his future. He claims the players that he got over the summer were not his targets, rarely gets the players he wants and looks like a man rattled considering his attack on Jose.

A common trend has occured at Chelsea FC after they have won a major trophy, where they fail to relive the previous season and pressure on the manager mounts. Ancelotti, Di Matteo, Jose and now Conte.

                          9 and Chelseaman-

When I watched the press conference a few days ago on MUTV, I thought he was talking about himself. When he was questioned about his lost of passion, he mentioned about not behaving like a clown on the touchline and maturing now or something along those lines.

The problem with Jose is, no matter what he says, it will sell. You guys as Chelsea fans know that. Journalists will misinterpret what he says and opportunists who despise him will do whatever it takes to have a go at him. I have seen a few praise Conte for his unnecessary comments, but if the same was said by Jose, they would be uproar. He can be a tosser at times and does dig himself in to a hole and does drag his clubs down the gutter at times, but I genuinely believe his current comments were not aimed at anyone and a opportunist journalist baited Conte. How boring would their jobs be if they did not have something like this to write about.

Well the press have got a lot to answer for, especially the journalist who brought the question towards Conte and the numerous news outlets who ran the story that Jose was having a dig at Klopp and Conte. Anyone who actually saw the press conference and not go by the cherry picked quotes the media used, Jose was actually talking about himself. He was saying how he acted like a clown when he was a younger manager, but now has matured a bit more and does not need to behave like a clown after being questioned about his lack of passion or goal celebration. He was not aiming a dig at anyone but himself in regards to his past passionate antics, Conte press conference today suggested he did not know that because he oddly aimed a dig about Jose’s past. What does the media do? Stir the hornets nest, headlines of Jose attacking Conte and Klopp etc. Conte the poor soul gets baited by the journalist, using a unnecessary dig and now it has turned in to tit for tat with Jose being Jose retaliating.

Been to watch Manchester City a handful of times this season. Work colleague is a season ticket holder for himself and his son. If his son cannot make it for work reasons, he asks me to come along. I got to admit, they have been my guilty pleasure. I told my work colleague the last time I saw a side play this good was Liverpool in the 2nd half of the 14 when they were blowing teams away for fun.

Also go and watch Halifax town and Huddersfield a few times now and again. Little cousin has been a ball boy for Halifax Town a few times this season.

Congratulations Paxton. Just a bit of advice. For the rest of your life you’re never right under your own roof, appreciate any spare time you have for your hobbies because as soon as children come in to the picture, well you’re screwed. My own experience, you may become a bit more argumentative on here or elsewhere because you cannot ever disagree with the wife no matter how much she is in the wrong, so you need to have a bit of gratification when you’re right about something on here.

Happy Hanukkah(4 days late) and Merry Christmas

The chelsea fans onviously know Jose better than any of us because he managed their club for a combined total of 5 and hald years, winning 3 league titles. But I have to agree with the posters who are saying he may not be at United next season. His body lanvuage just signals that he does not want to be there. I remember on teamtalk some Chelsea fans were saying he looked a broken man when he arrived back at the club even after winning the title and I have to agree when observing his behaviour at United. At Madrid he lost the dressing room for the first time in his managerial career and that seems to have got to him, bringing his mood swings back to England. 1st tenure at Chelsea and at Inter, I have always known him to defend his players to the hilt. Yesterday he laballed some of his players childish with their approach towards the end, although true, the Jose who was at Chelsea first time round would not have openly ridiculed his players in public from what I remember.

                                      Sean-

LVG was a funny one. Against the top 6 sides in the league, he had a brilliant record. Beat Arsenal twice, lost once and drew 1, beat City twice and drawing 1, lost 1, beat liverpool 4 times, lost to chelsea twice and drew against them twice, beat spurs twice, lost once and 1 draw. It was against the lesser teams that he struggled against. The football was bland and boring, yet in small patches was entertaining.

Jose is a funny one too. The style is inconsistent. One game, you have watched the best game since the Fergie days, the following it is boring and the only thing predictable is park the bus against top sides. United started off well this and then momentum was lost when Jose decided to park the bus against Liverpool, the loss of Pogba did not help also. But the cautious approach did not help too. Like Pagan says, it is Jode style, you do not know what to expect.

In regards to Pogba, you hit the nail on the head. But Gerrard was a level or 2 above him at the same age. Gerrard grip games by the scruff of the neck when required, Pogba has rarely done that since arriving to United. At 23/24(2005) Gerrard played a part in helping Liverpool win the CL, Pogba helped his side win the EL, but his performances in comparison to Gerrard are no where near good enough. I agree he has the ingredients to be world class, he is a long way off. I have grown to like him and see what others do.

Have to disagree chelsea man. There are plenty of indications that he is not happy.

Jose still stays at the hotel and has not attempted to purchase or rent his own place. His family still live in London and have made no attempts moving to Manchester. Jose has flirted with the PSG job recently with speculation in France saying he is the next PSG manager. He only has 18 months left on his current contract and if reports are true, United are reluctant to extend that. If you look at him and his return to England, he looks like a drained man. Has not cracked a smile, rarely celebrates a goal.

Saying that Conte came in and had a team that had Jose and the previous managers players, you could see what sort football he had the side play. Same with Pep, yesterday he had 7 players in the lineup that he did not purchase and you can see what he is implmenting, Klopp had 8 players that was bought from the previous manager and he came in and you see what kind of football he wants his side to play. Under Jose at United, I and many of my United supporting mates just cannot figure what kind of football he is playing at times.

Just caught highlights of yesterdays game. Extremely annoyed and Jose has every right to be pissed off. I suppose his post match comments were aimed at Rashford.

You have 2 players through on goal in the 92nd minute, what does Rashford do. He slows down, does not pass just to keep the ball. United end up losing the ball and Leicester end up scoring.
