I am fairly surprised Nine because I was expecting Lloris to hit the back pages because I believe Spurs and France’s world cup captain needed more coverage after what happened. Same way Rooney was all over the papers after being pictured getting drunk on his day off. Jose being moody after a loss is not exactly new to the world and is expected, he has been behaving like this since his days at Porto. The reason I am surprised is because people are still surprised by his behaviour. Every manager reacts differently, that is how Jose reacts. The Jose you see in front of the cameras is probably different to the one who see behind closed doors. There are plenty of pictures online of him smiling and having a laugh during training sessions.

IMO Martin Samuel sums it up

Gary Neville confirms Jose has not lost the dressing room after he spoke to a few people who are connected to the club. Yet the media reluctantly refuse to cover this. If the media are spouting lies, do you expect Jose to pat them on the back and say well done you made alot of clicks from creating a negative story about me.

I don’t think it is the Jose who is the problem here, it is the media. Jose has been around long enough to suss them out, like Ferguson did.

9, you are muddling what I am talking about. Jose splattered on the back pages does not bother me if it is justified. I always said he can be a prize plum.

My point is how him not saying much at a press conference gets a bigger headline than someone who has been done for drink driving, a serious criminal offence.

If you want to go down the root of me ridiculing Jose in the past (although I ridiculed him during his spell at United too), I remember you defending him to the hilt and not allowing anyone ridicule him at all because you were the only Chelsea fan on a forum. The things you said above, you wouldn’t have said if he was still Chelsea manager. ?

Here I am ridiculing him and asking what his style of play is-

Manchester United lack of or no identity

Whether Jose was right or wrong in regards to his conduct yesterday. Is it more news worthy than a footballer getting done for drink driving. Remember the headline news when Rooney went to a wedding on his day off and was on the lash. Yet later on Firminho was done for drink driving and you got headlines like this.

His team lost on the 2nd game of the season and the press had a massive field day like it was a title defining moment. Making stories up along the way. What do you expect him to do? Pat them on the back for it. The opening post just proves he should rightfully be aggrieved with them considering him not speaking at a press conference is more news worthy than a footballer getting done for drink driving. The guy cannot win no matter how he behaves.

Again I have to disagree Mav. Ronaldo was the next Henry in terms of how exciting he was in the PL. Ronaldo could glide past players too, left them for dead and was just brilliant to watch. Some veteran United fans say he is the best player to watch at Old Trafford since Best, with some saying he is better.

                  Mav-

No doubting how brilliant Ronaldo was at Real Madrid, but the player you saw at Real Madrid was the player who was developed at Manchester United. He won 9 trophies in 6 years at United, he won 11 in 9 years at Real Madrid. United turned him in to one of the greatest players in the world, Real Madrid had the luxury of taking on this world class player and for him to show he is one the greatest ever.

Still would go for Ronaldo, even though his best years were in La Liga. What he did and won in 2007-2008 still goes unmatched today by any PL player. Henry and Bergkamp were brilliant, along with the likes of Zola, Cantona and others. Ronaldo went from being a 1 trick pony to 1 of the most complete footballers in the PL. Just had everything in him. Ronaldo could play out wide and up top.

I never understood the resale value logic. Majority of the time most clubs get very little for their players when they hit past 30 and most clubs expect and hope to have their players with them during their peak years. Manchester United paid 17m for Valencia 9 years ago, they will get peanuts for him now. Just like they did with a past his best Rooney. If you pay big on someone during their peak years and he improves your side instantly for 3+ years. Then it is money well spent. Especially when you consider how the market is today.

Arrived at the age of 17 and within 3-4 years took the PL by storm. Won everything at United too. 3 x PL titles on the trot, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League, Ballon d’or, world player of the year. This was done by the age of 23.

Agree about Maguire. I have a belief that United were not serious about getting him. He was just a back up option, then were put off by the ridiculous price. The rest was embellish by the press to make out they were genuinely in for him. Things do not add up, Woodward tells the press he vetoed the deals because they were short term, Maguire is not a short term option. In my opinion, Jose wanted Alderweireld and Willian, with Woodward not wanting to spend big on both. Thats where the fall out is.

I believe it is their year and they are going to get promoted. Bielsa can be a hot head, but is a good manager who instills good football amongst his teams.

Maguire is 25 years old. Woodward refused to pay big on players much older. So Maguire would have made sense to him at that price considering his age. Yet he didn’t go through with it. A bit of a contradiction by the press reporting imo.

                                          Mick-

Many newspaper ran the story which was sent out by City. Just like they ran the story which they put out when Jorginho rejected them for Chelsea.

End of the day no-one knows what he earns, with the exception of the club and Sanchez himself. One minute he is on £26m a year, another story says 180m after 4 years, which 26m after 4 years does not even come near, unless you’re counting his bills, how much it costs to feed his dogs and so on. Another says 14m a year, clearly not stating before or after tax. Funny enough I read he was on 275k a week basic and he gets £115k on top for image rights as bonus. Something no other media outlet do with any other player, they just go by their basic wages.

Now using your logic and numbers here, City offered £60m for Sanchez last summer, just say he would have been on £275k a week excluding image rights obviously over a 4 year period. 60m + 53m is 113m. If your wage figures are true 26m X 4 is 104m. Funny enough there was little outcry when City offered 60m for a 29 old year old, along with big wages. No short term fix and so on. Like I said earlier City’s PR team were in full force when he rejected them, they don’t take rejection well. Ask Chelsea fans in regards to Jorginho. Ironically they went by the money theory. Considering Pep is on £20m a year, one of the top earners in managers, would he have joined City for half.

Everyone knows that this United side need a bit of experience in there. End of the day the old saying goes, you don’t win anything with kids, unless your Fergie. Pep proved that last season when he relied on a 28 year old right back which he paid £50m for, 33 year old defensive midfielder, 31 year old Silva and a 29 year old Aguero. These expensive defenders cost the same as what City paid for Laporte and 10m less than what they paid for Stones.

I am not dismissing your numbers, they could be true. But this is the media we are talking about. They do love their click baits and stir the hornets nest in order to get a reaction.
