I have to agree with Sean on this. Juventus although played great, United were just dreadful. Spurs played Juve off the park last season and were unlucky to lose against them.

Part of me believes it is Lukaku. The guy has been terrible this season and deserves to be dropped. He is extremely easy to play against. Jose was at fault too, where were the subs. The midfield lacked energy and he could have brought on Herrera/ Fred or Pereira, brought on Chong. Change the system a little.

What confidence does that give the subs when he does not have any trust in them to bring them on.

I dont think you can compare the old European Cup to the champions league now. They are just 2 different competitions. It is easier to qualify for the CL than the European Cup. I will maintain that winning the CL has always been difficult to do. Real Madrid won it 4 out of the last 5 times, but they had some tough competition along the way. They played Dortmund and Spurs in the group stages, then had PSG, Bayern, Juventus and Liverpool in the knockout stages last season.

I remember Uniteds run in 99, they played Bayern and Barcelona in the group stages, then played Juventus, Inter and Bayern in the knockout stages. Coming up against the likes of Rivaldo, Del Piero, Zidane, Ronaldo, Figo, Matthaus and many others.

With Zidane, Blanc, Conte and Jardim available, why would they go for Benitez. Eddie Howe has a better shout than Benitez. Benitez’s Newcastle currently sit bottom of the league without a win.

That is true. They do say winning the league is a marathon and winning a cup competition is a sprint. With the squad depth nowadays, you expect some of the top managers to do better in the CL.

I have to disagree in regards to Nistelrooy SRD. His movement was quality, his hold up play was quality and he offered a lot off the ball. Lukaku does not offer any of that. Reason why United can look bland in the final 3rd at times. It is quite surprising Jose went for him, he is not a Jose striker. Jose likes his strikers to hold up the ball and bring others in for example like Drogba did with Lampard, Costa wsith Hazard, Milito with Sneijder.

If you remember Jose’s first season at United when we had Zlatan, the amount of chances the club had, but due to poor finishing and the opposition goalkeepers having the game of their lives, they did not go in. Them chances happened because of Zlatans hold up play. IMO one of the reasons why Sanchez is struggling is because of Lukaku lack of hold of play. He may have scored a few goals, but what he offers without the ball is next to nothing.

Jose poked Tito Vilanova eye over a year before he was first diagnosed with cancer.

Jose gave an interview when he was Chelsea manager, he was asked if he had 3 wishes to come true, what would they be and his reply was ‘In this moment, I would say Tito Vilanova to recover from his problem’

Both moved on from the incident. It is quite sickening for you to use a cancer victim in order to get one over Mourinho by misleading facts.

I watched it again Nine. Even Sarri said it was wrong for what one of his coaching staff did. Punching the air in front of Jose whilst staring at him and then running back to celebrate in front of Jose the 2nd time time.

Difference between the Pardew and Wenger incident years ago to the Jose and Chelsea one yesterday is Pardew just celebrated, he did not goad Wenger, Wenger did not like Pardew overly celebrating. With Jose yesterday, he did not do anything wrong with the exception of chasing the coaching staff member after being goaded twice. It was just childish.

Sarri’s reaction after the incident and the way he handled the incident during injury time was class. Just held his hands up and sent the member of the coaching staff to the away dressing room in order for him to apologise. Only for Jose to say he has done similar things throughout his career. All water under the bridge now and hope the FA do not take action. That is the passion of the sport there for you, just impulse reactions after witnessing your side score a last minute equaliser.

Fergusons record against Chelsea was very poor. They are one of the only teams that have won more games than they have lost against a Ferguson United side. Chelsea record against United was very good before the take over too. They just have this apt to upset United in the PL era.

Napoli beat Liverpool at home with Liverpool having 0 shots on goal throughout the game. These things happen in football.

It was not about United sitting back, most teams naturally sit back when playing a Sarri side. He loves his side to keep the ball. You’re not going to see many teams outperform them with possession this season especially at Stamford Bridge.

Would have taken a draw before the game, felt like a loss after the final whistle. Thats why Stamford Bridge has been a graveyard for United, poor record there. Chelsea showed they are in a title race with that result.
