Other than Messi and Ronaldo (and Hazard) the next 2 best players come with baggage – Bale and Neymar.
I reckon Frank will be tough on Pogba but Pogba wont have that many defensive duties. Frank would get the best out of Pogba and i reckon Pogba would respect what Frank achieved with us given the similar positions they play.
United want to sell him! (maybe not to a rival). We can give them Barks lol. I’d happily swap Jorg for Pog though and put Kante in a holding position

Regarding creativity, I have one great solution which comes with a hefty price tag and probably an unimaginable transfer…
This player would have Kante to do his defensive running, he has this in his national team already, he plays great through balls for strikers on the shoulder and he would be given freedom to do what he wants on the pitch…

Pagan yes I agree but we still concede too many for my liking. Draw 0-0 v West ham, Bmouth and Soton I can deal with but we lost them all and we conceded 2 today. Let’s get out defence sorted. Then get Sancho in summer.

Blaze you are right, Conte was the pioneer of the 3-4-3/5-2-3 formation. As 999 says, wingbacks have been used before but more in a 5-3-2 formation.
Brilliant performance by everyone yesterday. Shame we didn’t win by more!
Now we have a another test in a couple of days when we will come across a team that will sit back defending deep and play on the counter at SB.

442 Pedro is similar to Pulisic, clever runs off the ball. We need someone who is great on the ball and can either use a bit of skill to beat a man or 2 with a decent cross, pass or shot at the end of it.
The jury is out on CHO. He has had 1 good game away against Southampton and has been very poor since. He doesn’t seem to be doing what Lampard wants him to do as a winger.

The best rule they can make on offside is calling offside if only your head or foot is offside. Any other part of your body that is offside is fine.
Realistically who is going to make sure their hip/knee is in a offside position to gain an advantage?

Hey CM, just have a look at Sancho’s stats this season.
He is not world class, but he is on the road to it. He has tricks in 1v1 situations and gets in to dangerous positions. You should watch a few highlights of him just to get a better understanding of what he will give us.
He was instrumental for Dortmund last night v Leipzig.

We need a creative midfielder desperately. Whether that’s in the form of another winger or a central midfielder, i’m not sure. Maybe both?
Jorginho is redundant v teams that sit back when we are at home. We really do miss a third man run from one of our midfielders. We did that so well at the start of the season, Mount needs a break.
Realistically this transfer window won’t see us get a player we desperately need, maybe the only one would be Ake.
Ziyech from Ajax would be good but would rather wait for Sancho…

I’m with CM on this. Stay well clear of Zaha. We need to improve our first team in this area, not our squad.
However i have a different view to CM on Sancho. He is able to score goals as well as create. Neymar will cost around £200m plus he is always injured during crucial times for PSG.

442 it’s about spending money wisely.
In our current circumstance, we need a couple of great players to blend in with our qality youth players, as well as our need to replace Pedro, Giroud etc.
I don’t think Christensen is good enough, Alonso is also going to be sold as he clearly has dropped down the pecking order.Tammy needs help as Bats is not good enough and won’t hang around too long to play 2nd or 3rd fiddle.
Our squad needs freshening up that’s for sure.

Hey Pagan, I’m an early 80s baby.
In this day and age the best teams go out and buy the best players (not for every position and doesn’t guarantee you success).
The best examples I can give you is the season after we won the league with Jose 2nd stint and Conte. We didn’t go out and buy a player to improve our first team and freshen things up. Then we just collapsed. Teams around us will always improve so we have to as well.

We didn’t buy Christensen to help better our first team, we did with Morata, and yes 2 years later were able to sell him and not lose much money.
it’s different with a CB, especially a world class one. They can play until they are 33/34 at a high level. Koulibaly is a commanding CB and there are not many around, he is great in the air, powerful and won’t get mugged off like Christensen does, fast so can at least keep up with some fast strikers, can read the game well and can pass.
