Linekar just retweeted something about the fact Atletico fans are not allowed to watch their team in their own stadium but there’s a few thousand in Liverpool today for the game. Same will apply next week with City.

Regarding a specific date for when the league must end I’m not convinced by that, and there’s a lot of suggestions that the Euro’s be delayed to give leagues time to finish in the summer.

Edit: we are now getting Italian teams being refused entry for Euro competitions and other nations teams refusing to travel to Italy. Won’t be long before France, Spain and Germany is as affected.

Same will apply next week with City.” That’s because currently the UK and Spanish Government’s are working to different strategies

I think there’s every chance the Euros will be cancelled altogether or postponed until a later date anyway. If it’s not safe to play the Euros it won’t be safe to play the Domestic Leagues.

Every day is a new day with this but if they are talking about postponing the Olympics for two years nothing is impossible.

Personally I would hate to see Football stopped but I think it should be alongside everything else anything that adds to the potential of the Corona Virus spreading faster and further needs to be stopped now imo and without this thing begins to fade then countries will begin to shut their borders across the whole of Europe and further afield too.

Public health has to become before sporting events…it is a no brainer to me. I do not want to see Football stopped but if that what it takes to help stop the spread and deaths…get it done now. I was really surprised they let Cheltenham go ahead but then I think the betting industry had a good lobby!!! I would also cancel the Euro’s now I am no expert but I would have thought a six month stop on all gatherings should be of significant help, in the meantime I hope they find an answer

102 years ago we had the Spanish Flu, which killed between 20 to 50 million people, it’s believed it started in the USA late in 1917 and ran until the end of 1918 and was spread around Europe by American troops towards the end of WWI, oddly the least affected country was China, possibly because they’d suffered an outbreak of a milder strain of the same flu previously and so had built up immunity.

Thankfully we now have a better health care and medical knowledge, so although it may spread easily hopefully the mortality rate will be vastly less.

Not trying to be morbid, just putting into context how unimportant sports and entertainment are in comparison to the current situation…..Pagan

Behind closed doors football looks like being sanctioned by the UK Government today but is that the answer when you look at the thousands of fans outside PSG’s ground last night?

Imagine how many thousands of Liverpool fans would be outside the ground on the day the title is finally confirmed.

I just can’t help thinking that Corona Virus is such a massive problem now that we have to take the most extreme measures. Allegedly the Bundesliga is likely to be scrapped which seems the most sensible decision to me people’s lives are much more important than football.

Joking aside, really not looking forward to the fact it could all be behind closed doors soon but rather that than finish the season early. However, if that’s deemed the only safe thing to do, then so be it
