ModeratorSwine flu was a big deal though Sean. “The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that swine flu infected nearly 61 million people in the United States and caused 12,469 deaths. Worldwide, up to 575,400 people died from pandemic swine flu.”
Maybe lessons have been learned?

InactiveI wouldnt exactly say we’re seeing panic Sean. Within 5 hours of the emergency being declared in Beijing, all masks had vanished from shops and alcoholic wipes and gels were being sold at premiums.
It is sensible to stock up on food stuffs. Pasta/ rice/ lentils/ smash hydro type edibles/ tinned fruits, long lasting vegetables and or none of those and go straight for the Frey Bentos Steak and Ale pies… Russians believe vodka kills the germ… kills Russians at an early age.
Im hoping to self Isolate so I dont have to go in and work with my numpty colleagues… Something to look forward to anyhow.

ModeratorI know it’s been 30 years Sean but tens of thousands are infected and suffering from this virus all over the world thousands have already died and financial markets are beginning to crash and you’re just worried how it might impact on Liverpool winning the League????

ParticipantWhy wouldn’t he be worried about Liverpool not winning the league because of it? Just because a few people have died from it, why would that stop him worrying about not winning the league?
We didn’t shut the country down because of SARS or Brid Flu or Swine Flu so why should we because of this?
To be honest I will be pissed off if the Euro’s is cancelled as I have tickets for a last 16 game in Dublin, a quarter final in Munich and a semi final at Wembley. All flights and accommodation paid for. Will I get a refund on those? Probably not.

ModeratorTugay, I hope you get to the Euros without any problems buddie and nothing interferes with Liverpool winning the League and I don’t think it will but my only concerns are for those suffering from the Coronavirus and for those who have died from it both currently and going forwards but that’s just me mate.

InactiveTugay, I think its just the manner of transmission and the fact we still dont know enough about it.
Did you get insurance for your summer plans? might be a good time to look into it.

ParticipantIβm pretty sure that the rules say that if a team fails to complete its fixtures then all itβs results will be expunged from the competition, so if no team completes its fixtures then there is no league. I also think that the end of May is the latest any fixture can be played, but not totally sure on that.
Mav on the bright side it wonβt go to the current holders, a precedent has already been set there…..Pagan

ParticipantThat’s just brilliantly funny, they take it away from a team who haven’t won it for 30 billion years and their own rules mean they have to give it to a team they’re about to dock points from for creative accounting naughtiness… you couldn’t make that up!!
