Ya maybe Rafa wouldnt be the right choice but I’d put him in there before Lampard, who’s really only proven that he can’t yet manage in the PL. Im sure there are loads of suitable young managers out there, Im just not massively aware of the up and coming talent.

Mak. the Leeds supporters hate Frank due to his Derby connections and all the conflict between the two Clubs. Frank needs to get back on the horse I think a Championship Club would be best for him and for him to try and build from there. It might not happen though he’s incredibly wealthy estimated at £40m he can afford to be choosy.😊

I agree, a Championship club would be best. Gerrard’s skip up to Scotland was risky as hell but it worked out. With Lamps, I think he’s got a better chance of developing a real career as a manager if he goes to a quality, competitive league (which the Championship is and the Scottish league isnt).
I’m not taking away from what Gerrard did, he won the SPL with a team who had no right to be in the mix and that is definitely something but my point is that you’ve got to do that kind of sensational thing up there, or your time is wasted.
I’ll be honest, I never thought Gerrard would be a good manager but I have to say that he’s a lot better communicator than I expected. He’s actually got potential. Frank is quite an intelligent person and is also articulate, especially for a footballer. His career was stalled by taking the Chelsea job way too soon but I definitely dont write him off. I write him off in terms of most PL jobs but that isnt at all the same thing. present ability against future potential…
These young lads really need to take a look at how the modern top level managers are. Pep, Klopp, Tuchel and (controversially) Conte are your teachers. Before anyone says it, Ya, I know Conte can go down in flames but he’s a top manager and he’ll probably get something out of Spurs in his time there. Obviously, I hope that doesn’t include any points against us…
Nine, I hope there are no hard feelings between us. I took on board what you said about me coming in after matters are sometimes resolved, or at least cooled. I read back and I will usually respond as I go. Sometimes it works out, others it doesn’t.
I still think it was ok for me to make some comment, since I had been mentioned several times, without actually saying anything. I hope you can at least understand that and I’m happy to leave it all go there then. There has been a lot of tension on this forum recently. I think frustration between Liverpool and Chelsea has been boiling over. As I tried to say before, it’s the sign of a good season and we’ll always have flare ups. I dont think anything went too far though.
LD, I do hope you havent left us though man. I think you sometimes get overly defensive about Chelsea but you’re a brilliant poster. You add rather than take from this forum.

40m though woah. Well earned mind you. back int he day, I dont think I could fully appreciate Lampard because of his rivalry with Gerrard but wouldnt the PL be so much better if they were both there in their prime now?
NO Ballon Dors for them but neither had a team that was entirely focused around giving the ball to them. Lampard had a lot of quality around him, with their team in mind. Gerrard had to force the issue.
I really dont know if I agree that Messi was the best ever, anymore. That used to be my position on the matter. The guy was the main outlet for a brilliant team, in a rubbish league. He had the chance to go to City and as i said before, I have a suspicion that he didnt take it because he knew it would be too much of a challenge. He wouldnt have the main man priority at City. He’d be up against actual proper teams every weak too. I hope he’s loving France.

As for Lucky he has his reasons for stepping away and they are deeper than just this site he’s also stepped away from the Chelsea site too where there are very few confrontations he’s a highly respected contributor on there and whilst I respect his decision and his reasons I sincerely hope we haven’t seen the last of him. Ye nine, Arsenal really do have some smashing young players mate. They just need to start showing the fight in the big games away. Partey is an excellent player but just hadn’t hit going. Get the best out of him and they can get much stronger

Some teams in the league have to depend on their strongest players. They don’t have a quality in depth and are in essence thread bare. No Bamford, no Daniel James and now Jack Harrison out.
Although they are capable, Leeds defensively are a worry. Most opposition teams will have a field day. Something needs to change. I like Bielsa a lot but I feel his time is up if results don’t start to improve and if they plummet into the bottom 3.

With some teams not playing and hence fixture difficulties I think that after today there should be a short break to reassess the way forward even if it means playing some games behind closed doors for a period and as last season every game on TV.

Agree in principle Adlab, however, the big ‘cardinal sin’ we all realized as fans is that we need fans. There were ‘freakish’ results. Some teams too come away from home done good out of it because of no home supporters to face.
Huge difference as we know so from that point of view I’m against it, but if it means it allows football to continue then I’m cool with that.
Maybe a cut off point at the end of this calendar year or even after today’s matches just to see where we are with everything.

Just 4 outfield players on the bench for Chelsea plus 2 Keepers Jorginho and Loftus Cheek added to the injured list on the positive side Kante and Chalobah back.
Playing games with stripped back teams and limited benches potentially distorts results and ultimately potentially the PL table at both ends!
