There is no doubt how good matip can be.
He was absolute class when he came back to Chelsea. Patchy last year but maybe he wasn’t happy as Jose went and that’s why he wanted out?
Time will tell. It’s very very early days for everyone.

Very happy with 3 points as this is a game we would have drawn last season.
We badly need players though. After we went 1-0 it could have been a few more

That’s it ginger. Some players need to be rested already. I think zaha is out for 4 weeks which is lucky for us.

Ed, that’s the thing, everyone expects Liverpool to hammer palace but it’s only one game they have lost. I remember West Ham losing to Bournemouth at home then going to Anfield and hammering us 3-0.
Palace have beaten us the last 3 times st Anfield but I fully expect us to win. I’m just not over confident as we are so bad the back. As sat showed, anything can happen

That’s it beni. It’s the system. Full backs pushing in make us exposed on the wings. No organisation from set plays. It’s chaos back there and it’s the managers fault.
He has us going forward with some flair but it’s his job to fix us at the back.
Vvd is not going to solve our issues at set plays. Looks like Chelsea are back in for him.
Let’s be honest, it’s been another terrible window for us. the vvd saga is us all over. It’s bizarre. I still think we will have a good season but injuries are already hampering us
I fully expect us to get through to cl groups but I don’t think this tie will be that easy

Chris, it didn’t serve him well last season mate. Dreadful tactics away to city especially. Utd only picked up 2 points away from Liverpool, city, Chelsea, spurs and arsenal. Maybe the few faces might see that tactic change.
It did work well for him at Chelsea. Utd are going for the league so need to pick up a few more points in the big games

Very good from Utd. Lackau will get a lot of goals. Be interesting to see if Utd go and try to win or at least have a go at the likes of city, Spurs, Chelsea etc away from home

Tough game. Klopp has said the team worked in defensive organisation at set pieces a lot in the summer. That’s a massive worry. Osaka was the dangerman but we on,y started to man mark him at set plays after he scored.
It’s crazy this is still going on. I’m getting a bit concerned about Matip aswell. Doesn’t seem to be aggressive enough.
Going forward we are fine but the squad is depleted already.sturridge aswell. What’s the point with him. Klopp said he be bsck for tomorrow yet he’s still out.we need players in. Players that can come into the first 11.
Klopp has my full support. I think we will have a good season but the defence has to improve big timr

I don’t get this obsession with sahko. We still conceded a shit load of goals with him in the team. Set plays are an issue because of the way we set up. That’s the managers fault, it’s not the players.
Okaka is a beast in the air but no one was man marking him? It’s half zonal and man marking. It’s not working. We concede to many goals. 3 in our first game. Absolute madness and we be out of cl if we defend like that
The squad is already depleted. Great going forward. I have full faith in klopp and I’ve friends turning on him. It’s nonesence but he’s here two years and we still can’t defend set plays. That’s worrying

Our conceding of goals from set plays is nothing to do with the players we have. It’s how the manager organises us for set pieces. It’s half zonal and half man marking and it doesn’t work. I know who okaka is so I’m sure klopp knows he’s a big unit and a beast in the air. Why wasn’t he man marked?
Why are the full backs pushed so far in in open play? It leaves massive space for the oppositions attackers.I’m not to disappointed. It’s one game. It’s the first game but if we don’t improve defensively then we won’t be going anywhere this season.

Cantona, if any team are open against luveroool they are in trouble but I fully expect Watford to sit back. Silva masterminded a 2-0 win fir hull Last year against us. Our defence is a worry but o expect us to win 1-0

Saurez requested a transfer Alfie mate. I agree with ginger but everything is coming out now
I’d sell him. Or if it’s going to unsettle us. Typical shite we don’t need before our pl opener
Couthino is no were near the standard Saurez and Torres were when they left. He’s still quite inconsistent and takes far to long to recover from injury but he’s a very key player. If it was may, get as much as you can and get him out but it’s 20 days till window closes. We have hardly streghtend at all. He be a big blue but bigger and better players have left.
