Incidentally, I end the first week of Fantasy Football on 59 points, with the highest so far being 107 – not too bad I guess lol 😀

Perfect start for Utd, but shouldn’t get carried away. Still need a winger and Shaw has to be on form when he returns as Blind does not have the pace to perform well at full back in that team.
Great start for Lukaku and fantastic to see Martial and Pogba get off the mark early on.

Brilliant to see the Huddersfield win so convincingly yesterday. All these record purchases amongst the top teams and multimillion pound squads and yet a little team like Huddersfield can still put on a performance like that. I think their manager could be a man in demand if they manage to have the season I think they can

Hope to not see any silly comments from Utd fans after that performance. It’s 1 performance. If we’re still playing like that after even 10 games, we can start being hopeful. Whilst I’m biased, I definitely think we were the pick of the bunch if the title favourites. Will be someone else’s turn next week though. So many twists and turns ahead. 1 down 37 to go

Gold Star this week I think has to go to Huddersfield, not a bad way to start your time with the big dogs, 3 points and 3 goals away from home against half decent opposition!
Silver Star to YooUtd, close to gold, but whereas YooUtd were good, Spammers were poor. Methinks they could be in for a long, long season playing like that every week!
Bronze star… hmm… nobody else really seemed to cut the mustard, no frills away wins for Spuds and Spuds Rejects (see what I did there?), maybe Leicester and/or Watford for having the tenacity not to roll over against “bigger” opposition….

Very good from Utd. Lackau will get a lot of goals. Be interesting to see if Utd go and try to win or at least have a go at the likes of city, Spurs, Chelsea etc away from home

I’m so hung up on the problems at Liverpool that I’ve barely paid any attention to what other clubs are doing but that was a very convincing result by Utd. I didn’t catch the performance but I’m assuming it’s all good.
I wonder if the members of the board at Chelsea who forced through the sale of matic will keep their jobs. It seems Conte was against it and I know it’s only day one but it’s already sounding like a huge mistake.

Pretty fair assessment Banjo. Spurs will be fine as long as they can keep Alli and Kane fit. I’m surprised they didn’t go for Defoe as a decent backup for Kane. I’m sure he’d have loved to have come back.
Sean, I just can’t see Utd going at the big teams away from home. Mourinho has always been cautious in the big games away from home, in particular, and it’s served him well until now. I really don’t think he will change that.
Makaveli, there certainly appears to be something amiss at Chelsea. They’ve got a tough run of games now so they could easily find themselves with a fair bit of catching up to do very early in the season. I want to say they need to try to change the setup to give the manager more control and therefore keep the managers longer, but it’s hard to argue that their manager policy is wrong. Chelsea have probably won more than anyone over the last 10 or so years. Why would they suddenly start changing things. Top managers will always be attracted to big wages and the chance to live and work in London

Chris, it didn’t serve him well last season mate. Dreadful tactics away to city especially. Utd only picked up 2 points away from Liverpool, city, Chelsea, spurs and arsenal. Maybe the few faces might see that tactic change.
It did work well for him at Chelsea. Utd are going for the league so need to pick up a few more points in the big games

Yeah fair enough Sean. Utd were pretty poor in the league last season and in particular those big away games. Definitely need to see more this season. I meant through his career he’s done that more often than not and it’s usually resulted in trophies but you’re right about last season
