I actually think the opposite and get where Marco Silva is coming from.
I feel Press Conferences, and the ones post-match even when you have won a game you feel as though you are placed on some sort of a trial – so many questions to answer from various quarters of the media.
I do grab hold of the ‘this is football explanation’. You only have to look at the quick turnaround at Wembley with Wolves – did anybody really see that coming?
Even at Anfield yesterday, 2 quick fire goals when I was honestly thinking Arsenal would have either doubled their lead or we would have gone into half-time with a goal down. This is football because this shows you have to be on top of your game ALL the time in order to be consistent and see the job through.

Mak @ 8:06, agreed and good point.
We’re just in the lead, but can’t really place a label now other than just to at best enjoy the moment.
I can’t discount Spurs or Chelsea, and Arsenal have been different gravy under Unai Emery.
Results and fortunes can change dramatically, with ease.
I’d say positively, the challenge is:
1) How we deal domestically with the second half of the season
2) FA Cup
3) Champions League
Boost in news of OX, but we don’t have cover should for example, Robertson pick up an injury or just in general, in need of recovery. This is an area perhaps where we could be in need of strengthening.
Long way to go and so far, we’re in a great place π

Nine, handshake truly and hope you are well and good. Long time mate X
Yeah, really happy mate so far – bit more depth and steel added to the squad and it seems everyone is playing and looking after each other.
Cheers mate and great to be back.

Good to get Ole (he is a Liverpool fan :-)) and somebody with courage to take on a massive responsibility. Would love Robbo back in some capacity.
The players in particular Pogba, I noticed just seemed more relaxed and happy.

Fabinho reminds me a bit of Fernandino though is even better when supported by Keita.
With these new editions, Vijnaldum to me has grown in his own game and has become more aggressive which you need week to week.
The Midfield is the fulcrum, but you can’t underestimate duties of the full-backs; pace and discipline. Not to mention being able to consistently offer the front 3 another dimension.
Benjamin Mendy is missed by Man City, and we are wholeheartedly thankful in Van Dijk being fit and resilient. He genuinely serves leadership which Liverpool in previous years have lacked and Henderson truth be told, doesn’t possess in him as a given trait.
I love Shaquiri π Just somebody free and happy enjoying his football.
I don’t know going forward whether Jurgen Klopp has the thought of bringing in a new face to freshen things up or to just add a bit more steel.

Had a read of the thread to Oz and half of me agrees with where he is coming from. I am liking and thankful we have a Manager in Jurgen Klopp who is delivering measured press conferences that spell ‘feet to the ground’.
I truly don’t believe the way the league is now 10 points is some sort of a getaway. The reason why I say this is because had Spurs won today and we’d lost, then our lead would have only been 3 points.
So this is what is capable of happening.
Also from experience, Liverpool have been in this position before but couldn’t get over the finishing line, so it’s understandable for Supporters to be cautious.
I didn’t think Wolves would get a draw let alone anything else and Spurs were in my accumulator today, so it just goes to show there are no guarantees or givens.
Man City away in the New Year won’t be easy and we have to be prepared.
I do agree with Jose that Liverpool have had luck and in fairness, we’ve had the rub of the green in the way results have panned out for us – maybe a ‘helping hand’ like this is essential.
For now, it’s enjoying the journey, but it’s another box ticked, and another one to prepare for.
π Seasons Greetings one and all

Fabulous performance and everybody all pulling together including the supporters. Robertson first class, the trio all getting on the scoresheet, and mentions of course to Van Dijk, Fabinho and Allison who are our key components to this well oiled machine

2nd June 2018 at 1:31 pm in reply to: *UEFA Champions League Final 2018*Liverpool V Real Madrid – Saturday 26 May 7:45 #22491Just seen a pic of Fekir with a Liverpool shirt on and with him holding a Red shirt.
He actually looks as though he’s related to Salah, albeit the hair lol π
Hope he joins us.
Light heartedness to one side, until we get straight back on that saddle, and ultimately win a trophy, this is something that will always be difficult to get over. I’ve had the opportunity to chew the fat at work and nobody at any level on centre stage would make that type of mistake if you are deemed as decent or top class quality.
It’s like saying or thinking Roger Federer double-faulting a serve in succession of 2 game points. Maybe against Karius, that’s not the comparison to use and alarm bells were there against Roma. I remember Hendo hairdrying him after the final whistle. Klopp always knew deep down he was faced with a double-edge sword as Mignolet was no different.
This has to be addressed this summer as priority and we’ll need to make a statement in the way we did with Van Dijk.
It seems, when it comes to Europe, we’ll go a long way with Jurgen. We need to just nail that first trophy even if it is the League Cup again.
As for Real Madrid, YES when it comes to the CL and the Big Stage, they have that nous, but they were BEATABLE I kid you not last week. and when it comes to their domestic league, they are capable of dropping points uncharacteristically to teams you’d least expect.
If we played Barca, we probably would have lost, and I wouldn’t have felt so aggrieved about the whole affair. Some pundits are just blatantly ignorant towards Liverpool and agenda driven – sod them.
Anyway, there is obviously no point dwelling on this for much longer as we’re into a fresh month and we can’t change what’s happened, but instead think positively, look forward, and hope for the best.

Probably the right time to quit and the club may benefit from a change and different direction.
There is baggage no doubt with certain players not knowing whether they will stay or go; plus upholding your status against your rival clubs and delivering continuity of success.
Either one of Conte or Wenger would be a good fit for the club in my view.

30th May 2018 at 8:50 pm in reply to: *UEFA Champions League Final 2018*Liverpool V Real Madrid – Saturday 26 May 7:45 #22446Good to get together with a few lads off Bank Holiday back into work which ultimately for me does do you good.
Often you get belittled and laughed at with a reply of “land and Sky to Pro level” which is true to an extent, but whatever level YOU have played, there’s always guidelines, natural ability and a setting to take into account.
No GK would do in essence what Karius did.
It’s unforgiving.
And on a personal level, this has been possibly the worst experience for me losing this final.
