Cheers Mak, nice of you to say mate. I know who your referring to & there’s a few more as well for me. I can cop a different view & as I’ve said I’ve even changed my own view after some good points but some of them just can’t hack it when you don’t agree with them.

There are a number of posters on TT who just like to be controversial. Certain posters are just so disrespectful to others, not actually appreciating that football is by and large a subjective game, and yet arguments are presented as though there is a definite right and wrong. Other than any factual debates, there are no right or wrong opinions – they are just opinions – but the likes of Davinci, timetogobr and to an extent, Ginger are just disrespectful and there is no need for that. It’s a shame cos there are a lot of decent posters on there, and I just wish more would come over here on a regular basis, so Mak and Oz, please make more contributions over here – no-one will call you out on your opinions of Henderson, though of course you are wrong (smiley face!)

The 2 I was referring to are of course (did you have to guess) Bingo and Ginger. They aren’t here to defend themselves, so I’ll not say anything about those pricks. OOPs! 😉
As for Hendo, it was hard to get through that thread without loathing our captain due to association but really I don’t have it in for him at all. My issue is that he’s our captain, not our player and maybe bloody Superman Gerrard is partly to blame for that, who knows. Don’t think that I’m watching our matches, putting pins in my little Hendoll, hoping he’ll snap in 2. Discussion for another thread I guess. Here’s an idea!! …. 😉
TTG is 100% a WUM and I kind alike his insanity. I mean, he’s a good reminder of how we we have it. It’s like he’s a fan from the G&H years who had a ‘Memento’ style brain trauma and wakes up with “Yanks Out” glaring back at him from his mirror.
Nine, I wonder how much I really posted over the years. I don’t remember many names at all, so I’m guessing that I was as filthy and casual as filthy casuals get. So, a technicality no doubt.

The Liverpool forum on TT is not quite what it was, shame really as it was always the stand out Club forum on TT imo. Still a lot of very good posters on there though.

Yeah nine I used to love the Liverpool TT page but you can no longer have a debate on it, you either agree with a certain few posters or your wrong & the childish s*** starts. If they put up reasonable points of view you have to accept that, which I have no problem with, but no matter what reasons you give for your opinion it’s simply wrong. A little group of them hang on each other’s coat tails & it just destroys the site.

Oz, as you know I used to post on there quite regularly but find it difficult to post on there now. I always tried to give an objective non Liverpool view of Liverpool issues which were generally very well accepted but I find it too difficult to post on there nowdays for all the reasons you highlight.

I think a lot of forums generally tend to descend into trench warfare. Many people are passionate about their views which is good in one sense, but it can stop reasoned debate. It’s why a lot of Twitter is just people throwing stones at each other. All you can do is be calm, listen and rebut statements and be prepared to change one’s mind if the facts are clarified. Not everybody will want to listen, but that shouldn’t stop people trying. Or else there’s no hope!

Mikus I tried to ignore it for a while but I just can’t cop the keyboard warrior stuff. I’m happy to agree to disagree, which I have done may times but you only have to look at the Hendo thread to see some think they know more than everyone else & they start twisting everything you say & carrying on like they are above everyone else. I’d rather not bother. It doesn’t seem to have filtered over to here yet so hopefully it won’t.

Look, I’m a man to get into a heated debate sometimes, I’ll admit that. What’s going on over there though, it’s just ENDLESS and I tried a number of times to get that Henderson thread back on track but they just weren’t having it. Aussie, the twisting or words and strawmanning BS is what has killed it for me. There are a few good posters left over there and it’s a shame they aren’t here but there are definitely a few who I wouldn’t want to make the journey here. That said, we have a more active Ed here and I’m sure a harsh word here or there would stop the derailments but ya, I have struggled to have a genuine football conversation with those 2 lads 😛
Its a shame cause I’ve been using TT on and off, for half my life! That’s actually really shocking to think about.

Mak I wouldn’t bother bud, they just won’t accept that you see things different to them & they feed off each other & just go crazy.
As you say there is still a few good posters there, Sean for example but the smug know it alls are getting quite a following & the site is quickly going to s***. I just worry they’ll end up here because no one will be left on TT to preach to, hopefully not though._____________________________

I didn’t contribute to hendo thread but I read it and laughed. It’s all opinions and it never bothers me
Still best forum around for me but you would think we were in a relegation fight ffs
Team is doing very well. Hightown gave me some good advice about just enjoying the moment which I actually do these days
Huge few weeks ahead and always remember it was only 3 years ago we were absolutely terrible and losing a lot of games

Aussie, if they do come over and start their shit, they’ll be put in their place. My worry is that they’ll chase off the few good posters left and we’ll end up losing them (like we have others) and end up gaining the ones we don’t want. Again though, this isn’t TT, where the admins don’t admin.
Sean, it does get to me a bit because they obstruct the purpose of the forums in the first place. There are some good topics that don’t really get delved into because of the constant bickering. I get sucked into it myself and I’ll give as good as I get with those 2.
As for how some of us fans are kinda upset with all things Liverpool ATM. I’m not really upset, I’m just worried that the brilliant position we’re in now is not sustainable unless we start performing better up top. I totally get and have actually said the exact same myself on TT, that we’ve got to take a moment and enjoy what we have right now because it is something special. The thing is, if we get our forward line just doing what we know they can do, we could be one of the best teams ever. Now, is that a completely ridiculous thing to say> it should be but I don’t think it is.
We’ve currently got arguably the best defence in Europe. I don’t like to lean on stats but they do back this claim up. Of course it’s early days but so far so bloody good. The midfield was actually quite good at what it does for a good while but we’re starting to see the cracks I think. Up top though, it’s got to get back to where it was some time. I think the WC really did a number on some of our players. I don’t think Firmino and Salah look tired anymore but it’s still got to click. I think Salah has been improving but as I’ve said before, I’d drop Firmino for Solanke for this match. I’d at least hope to see him feature. I think klopp is the kind of man who will try and make use of good form too and Solanke is just off scoring a few for the U23s so..
Anyway, I got side tracked there 😛

Why not, 999? It’s doing no one any harm. If Mak and Oz start posting more on this forum, then it’s got to be a good thing. They are both excellent contributors and as far as I am concerned talking about why they are pissed off with the Liverpool forum on TT is fine by me. I got pissed off there some time ago now, but we need more posters on here. You may have loyalty to TT, and that’s fair enough, but there’s a lot of people who have left that forum, and by and large that is the admins fault there. It’s pathetic.
Ed here contributes regularly and joins in discussions. There are few if any fall outs, though sadly, Jim seems to have disappeared again. Best forum, best posters!

Regarding the Henderson thread my intention was to create a well balanced debate whilst the international break was on but sadly it turned into a bit of playground. After Aussie took offence to one of my comments (Sorry, I really did not mean it come out the way it did!) I asked the editor to close the thread. I got no reply. It should of been closed a lot earlier but as mentioned here already the editorial staff are letting the site down.
So apologies to anyone that was involved in that damn thread!
