Your history on these forums?

I have just realised that I have been posting on these forums for the past 10 years. I remember joining the dark side about May 2008 when United won the league title. Thought it was amazing because there was a platform of fans from various different clubs engaging in debates. I remember the likes of seaguls, truefooty, itsa, Alfie, Youknighted and a few others representing United at the time. Thats when I became stuck or addicted to the place. I then joined footyplace for a few years and rejoined teamtalk in 2015 after the revamp. I decided to take a break last year from forums and became a reader on and off, contributing here now and again.

I am wondering how long you guys have been posting for and what made you stay on these forums. Apologies if this is a bore of thread. I am genuinely intrigued.

I too joined TT in 2008 and exchanged views and opinions with some brilliant fellow lovers of the beautiful game inc seagulls & trawlers,itsa,truefooty,jk Johannesburg,taxidriver,hylle,Ron Mallorca,oldgrendel,and many,many,many more posters.TT USED TO BE great once upon a time.Had a great time chatting to posters like Agueroooo,gj blues,BJ,Adlab,and a few others on City page,and I visit the Chelsea page-the best run site of TT.Footyplace I joined after Steve aka oldgrendel told me about it,but that place didnt last,and now enjoying this place.Still post on United page now and again.

Started posting about 2002 but on the Leeds page as a wum lol

Leeds had a lot of Irish players so it was good crack. Never giving Leeds stick, was jay a laugh posting silly things and conversing with bomber

Started posting on lfc page in 2004 when I was sick of houllier and the terrible football we played

Lfc is a great forum. Always good debates

Went through a wum stage for years on tt main forum.gas crack giving rob Walton stick. Some right characters in there

Footyplqce then here. All good. Don’t take it to seriously and some good chats

Find it hilarious that grown men can get wound up about comments on a forum but it’s just passion everyone had for their clubs

I am not good with remebering dates but I think I joined TT sometime shortly before 2006 as I distinctly remember agreeing with fans of other clubs that Ben Thatcher deserved a long ban and big fine for his assault on Mendez at the start of that season. Enjoyed the debate with other fans such as those mentioned above plus sandbagger Chris tats. Good fellas. Including those that have hung arround on here today. I like reading the opinions of others. Although sometimes I find that fans can get more irate on an anonymous forum, and i include myself in that!than chatting in a pub or at work. But hey ho. It’s all good. Jim

Circa 2006 for me on Teamtalk then Footyplace and now here. True footy what a Gent invited me up to OT for the Chelsea game. Lots of great posters have been on those sites and still are on here and on Teamtalk.

I moderate the Chelsea site which can be tricky at times when you’re a poster too but generally like on here the lads on there are all good guys.

Just want to say what’s great job Chris the Ed has done with this site super poster too but he’s time poor at the moment with a young family so sadly we don’t hear from him as much.

Can’t exactly remember when I started posting on TT but it was around sometime in the Houllier era with Liverpool I think around 2002/2003. TT in its day was just great, not just the club forums, but the main site was a real hub where the whole setup just encouraged you to read and engage with all the latest stories and conversation and you really felt a part of the fan community from all the clubs (even lower league clubs). Some great characters and hilarious comments and reactions on many of the articles and stories. And by moderating and refreshing new posts every few hours, it generally stopped anything getting too out of hand (though it could still get heated) so it kept a lid on it and things just moved on with the next news stories. It was certainly more fun, (though this new instant posting is a lot better when having more constructive discussions). The new format has killed much of it and I can understand why posters have left it in droves and what’s left of it has retreated to the bigger teams club forums. Still enjoy the club forums and this site which is good for more serious debate and thrashing things out.

I went back on team talk a few weeks ago and I just remember getting a ad popping up quite often when typing a post. When I tried removing it, it took me away from the page I was typing and I could not go back, which resulted in me needing to type the post again. Such a shame really, the place has its characters, but it also has a fair few decent souls on there.

Yes,nearly forgot sandbagger,Chris,Rob Walton,Ginolashair,Evratime,metaxa,Mike Majorca,Ronaldos left leg or something like that,and many,many,many more! Mark too was brilliant on TT,used to even do a live chat with the posters sometimes,it was a brilliant place.Like the Irish wasplicker says,its only a football forum,some people take it far too seriously-like that Aussie naughty girl Banjo for example-where is she btw these days?
One of my all-time favs on TT-the Boro fan,what was his posting name Smoggydunk or something???What a character he and Rob Walton were.Bring back the old times!

I started posting on the main TT site about 10 years ago. Cannot believe how time flys. My objective was to become the King Troll but unfortunately for me I was way out of my depth. And even more sadly most of those type guys have disappeared.

I started following the TT forum probably around 10-15 years ago now. I don’t think I ever posted on the old format but used to read it a lot. I found it through playing the old Championship Manager games where they often referred to Teamtalk.com as a news source for transfer news on the game.

I noticed people moving over to footyplace.com and that was where I started posting before eventually signing up on TT under the revamped format.

I then grew tired of the problems on that site and the lack of any visible presence of the people who ran the site and so started this place up. I’d love to put more time into not only posting but also helping this place to grow but I just haven’t been able to. Hopefully I can at least start posting a bit more soon. Yes where is Banjo? He seemed to disappear after Sean said he’d changed since Brexit!
