Sean, Palace are a bit of a bogey team for us and they always raise their game v Chelsea very tricky game on Saturday especially with Jorginho suspended and possibly no Mount through injury too.8th November 2019 at 10:53 am #52097
I’ve got a bit of a dilemma on Sunday normally I would be watching the Liverpool v City game live on Sky but we’re committed to Acoustic night in the Pub from 6pm on Sunday so now I don’t know whether to watch the first half and record the second half or record the whole game and hope someone doesn’t tell me the result which tbf applies to both solutions.😊
Haven’t a clue how the game will finish but given what’s at stake my inclination is to say it will end up as a draw which would suit both teams probably Liverpool more than City.
The odds on all 3 outcomes reflect how difficult it is to call.

A draw would be fine. Just to be equal on points with City if we account for Palace would be an achievement I reckon. Within 6 of Liverpool having lost to them already would also be something. Those results would leave us going to City in the following game hunting points to shoot 3 clear of them. I can relate to that. #thefutureisbrightthefutureisblue

I think we need to beat city. 1 point from 6 cost is last year againest then. We need to be winning the big games at home.
A draw be good for city as they will be very confident of closing the gap on 6 points. Dec/jan is going to be a crazy month for both sides
City have had a blip already and Liverpool are going to go through a rough patch/blip at some stage so we need to get as many points ahead of city as we can
A 9 point lead is still not a huge gap in nov. If we were 20 points clear I still wouldn’t be confident
The gap could even be 3 come Sunday evening. City are more then capable of beating us. I’ve no idea how this going to go 😆

Don’t look at points yet, just each game. Actually I like to look at the next block or sequence of games, say between each international break and see if we can win those. Worrying about a 3, 6, 9 or 20(!) point lead will do you no good.8th November 2019 at 1:21 pm #52110
A draw and wins for Leicester and Chelsea would make things much more interesting!😊8th November 2019 at 1:42 pm #52114
Ederson out of Sundays game.
Given all City’s injuries to key players Ederson being the latest Sunday is a massive opportunity for Liverpool to go 9 points clear.8th November 2019 at 2:31 pm #52118

Talking of goalkeepers, someone told me today that Ben Foster has had more shots on goal this season than Jesse Lingard, is that right?….Pagan8th November 2019 at 3:14 pm #52121
“A 9 point lead is still not a huge gap in nov. If we were 20 points clear I still wouldn’t be confident ”
I have thought about this previously. I didn’t come to this conclusion before, even though we talked about a hypothetical 20 point lead. I’m just uncomfortable considering any league scenario over, before it’s even half way. For the same of discussion though and nothing else, I will say that if we were to magically have a 20 point league, I would call the title. By calling it, I mean that any losing position from that is 100% bottling/throwing it away.
9 points though is just a nice buffer but as Threeps says, we need to forget the gap and take it game by game. I hope the players forget potential totals and just go in with blinders on. 3 points up for grabs? Get the 3 points and move on to the preparation for the next opportunity to get 3 more points. Too much focus on a gap offers fear when results are going one way and complacency when they are going another way.
I want nothing more than a win against City. If we play for the draw, I’ll be incredibly disappointed.8th November 2019 at 4:09 pm #52125
Draw wouldn’t be a bad result from our point of view but naturally a win would be Fab ⚽️⚽️⚽️🕹🎲8th November 2019 at 5:08 pm #52126

Threeps and mak, good advice lads. Still so much of the season to go. Blocks of Hanes it is!
Nine, ole said the same about de gea on the Friday before utd played is and he played 😂 so we wait and see but ederson be a massive loss. World class keeper8th November 2019 at 5:18 pm #52127
Sean, you just never know but Pep usually plays it with a straight bat we’ll see.
If Bravo plays which currently looks most likely he could be a disaster or he could be MOM you just never know in these circumstances.
But City stripped of their No 1 Keeper, best Centre back and their most accomplished defensive midfield player weakens them enormously defensively.8th November 2019 at 10:25 pm #52131
Far too much Analysis on one game without a Ball even being kicked.
