I personally don’t believe Liverpool will run this close to City again, it’s going to be very difficult for them to match this past season though they still could end up 2nd.

Waaaayyyyy too early for Fatty-Bum-Bum to take over Chelsea, so I would obviously love it to happen, and I’m guessing so would the Goonies and YooUtd boys, make the 3 horse race for 4th slightly easier for them…

Moos, I agree but I also wonder if City can sustain this. Maybe next season will be fine for them but the season after, or the one after that? They have some core players to replace over the coming years. Maybe it’ll go well and the replacements will be better than the originals, or maybe they will be a step down. Given how well they mesh together in this system now, I think the odds are that they might not be as good.
I think Liverpool might have more “legs” when it comes to this and also further development.
I don’t think 97 points is an achievable goal for us again next season. City’s last 2 tallies and our one last season give us a false representation of them not being freak occurrences. For these sides maybe they arent and they will continue in this manner for a while but likely not, especially for Liverpool who have done this only once.

I think a lot of this discussion is rooted in how much we think FFP is changing the game. Either way, itβs clearly having some impact because without being able to constantly throw money at the situation, Chelsea have undoubtedly had to look to become more sustainable in the way they replace and renew their playing squad. A lot of the old guard from the big spending days are now ageing or moving on. So Chelsea clearly need more of a developer and someone to instil a real togetherness in the team. Allegri may still be that man, but you could sympathise with Chelsea thinking a bit harder this time around (particularly with the transfer ban looming) before they make their decision.

Ah lads we can put whatever spin on it you want & dream up a myriad of scenarios but in reality I think deep down in the cockles of your stomach we all know c$ty will win the EPL again next season. As Iβve said time & time again itβs all about squad depth & they have more than anyone. Yes I hear you Liverpool pushed them close last time round but Iβm certain they wonβt get that many points again but as the moneybags proved they can repeat such a high tally with all their depth.
