From the world health organisation – “When you look at how many people have died, you need to look at how many people where infected, and right now we don’t know that number. So it is early to put a percentage on that”

Threeps – As the pandemic is still ongoing it isn’t possible to accurately calculate the mortality rate, so any figures you have seen to say it’s 2% could be off by orders of magnitude.
9 – I worked in the NHS for 10 years, and know only too well how medical professionals lose the will to live with people that go to a&e with contagious diseases.

It’s important to note that the common cold is a form of coronavirus. At present most cases are extremely mild, and most if not all fatalities have been linked with pre existing health conditions. If you think you might have it, DO NOT GO TO HOSPITAL. Phone 111, and self isolate. There seems to be an element of chernobyl here, where the chinese seemingly buried there heads in the sand.

From potential bottlers, to being handed the title by VAR, and now the season that never was. Is it really going to be that painful for everyone if Liverpool win the PL?

Agents really aren’t needed in football. It makes sense for people in the entertainment industry, but only ones that aren’t big stars. Hire a decent lawyer ffs.

One of those lucky wins today. Nowhere near our best, Wolves very unfortunate to walk away with nothing.

I will admit, disallowing the wolves goal was very harsh. I seem remember we suffered the same fait a few weeks back though

NB – For sure Keita has upped his game. If he can provide consistent form he will be money well spent. Hard to do if he isn’t playing every game, but I have faith in the lad.

NB – it was a great performance, and very good to see. Maybe our trip away has turned into a bit of a revitilsing warm weather camp, with a trophy on top. Atm it really feels like nothing can go wrong, and I don’t know whether I like or not. I think I do haha

Just a general FYI. I will dig someone out if I feel they are trolling, but it seems to be non existent on this site, so no need.

HH – I watched the offtheball roadshow where Roy Keane and Gary Neville were guests. Keanes views on why Man Utd became the dominant force in English football are very interesting. He obviously mentioned the talent that had come through the ranks etc, and Fergie being given time, but ultimately the point he made, was that it came down to professionalism. He said the liverpool lads at the time loved a drink and believed their own hype, and weren’t taking the game seriously. That is a complete contrast to today, where our captain and vice captain are t totals. This is a great example to all the younger players and new additions, and sets the tone for what the club is about at the moment.
9 – That thread is beyond an embarrassment. I made my points a few pages back I think, and it’s being going in circles even since. I do wish people could post without the personal insults. It’s so easy to disagree with someone without personally digging them out. It’s a lesson that needs to be learnt on these boards, and in wider society.

I appreciate you were after a non liverpool fans perspective. I’m not in a position to give you that though 🙂

HH – I do think an awful lot of what Henderson does as captain goes unnoticed. He doesn’t have the hollywood moments of Gerrard, which seems to draw him some criticism, unfairly imo. Gerrard was a captain that would win you a battle or two, but Hendo seems to be a captain that might win us the war.

23rd December 2019 at 3:03 pm in reply to: Week 18: Yule Never Have A Better Chance To Win…. To Win… With Hope In Your. #57341Spurs have appealed against Sons red card. I guess with all the confusion regarding the different events they are trying to get in to pay off the new stadium, they must have thought this was some kind of UFC royal rumble.

tbf she is 16, if she was in care, she would be expected to be moving towards independence now.

In decline or not, the fact that Chelsea were able to sign Torres as basically a squad player, gives an indication of how good chelsea were back then. Chelsea IMO changed the game in the PL, but I suppose that predated this decade. If they can now make a long term model work with Frank, the horizon looks pretty good for them, and the moneyball strategy that they were much derided for, seems to be saving them somewhat. Chelsea have been sticking 2 fingers up to everyone else and doing it their own way, which seems to work for them.

9 & NB – Even though I agree with a lot of his policies, I do agree he’s been a weak leader, and agree with nil that he has baggage, whether all of it is justified is another matter.
This was a brexit election though, and Corbyns stance on brexit came under constant scrutiny. Party split about 60 40 in favour if remain in terms of voters. Damned if he did, damned if he didn’t tbh, but I suppose shame on him for not being able to see that, and resign I suppose. The next Labour leader would have been in the same position though, I guess hopefully without the afore mentioned baggage.
Respect the result though, and am sort of relieved the plaster can just be ripped off now. I will end on one combative note however. If you did vote conservative, please hold your party to account for their failings going forward, no more excuses about the other guy please.
