I would imagine the move has been influenced heavily; Agent-Salary and of course Fee.
If it takes off well for everybody, then happy days. If on the other hand it doesn’t, an injury unfortunately occurs, and then there’s no real look in after that, it’s a failure in essence. He then I would imagine is advised a move abroad.
I have mentioned this repeatedly on various platforms and here so often that the fees for players are ludicrous. Β£35-40 at Best.

That could be said for literally every single transfer.

19th July 2026 at 8:04 am #250823The inflated player fees are a PSR scam, and as for the Premier League once again allowing City to continue their spending with the 115 (or whatever it is now) charges…it just makes the league a little more smelly.

19th July 2026 at 8:54 am #250824Ah ive been off the football radar for a while chums with regards footy news.
Rogers makes no sense. Are chelsea not currently being investigated for transfers? Silly fees for good English players, no were near elite. You only have to look at Anderson v argentina to see that.
As for us, very very quiet. I agree with fingers assessment and were actually more short up top then last year.

19th July 2026 at 8:58 am #250825I think ginger or threeps said Bournemouth didnt play with a 6? I thought they did with either Adams or lewis cook sitting? So we dont need a 6 lads with lads we have now. Not questioning it just wondering.

19th July 2026 at 11:54 am #250849I don’t disagree at all with your point from last night Ginger. Sure there’s always a risk. But I feel the greater the fee spent on the player, the more he will be under scrutiny.
If they don’t take off sooner, they will be some out there ready to pour criticism whether rightly or wrongly this is justified.

19th July 2026 at 1:51 pm #250856Don’t think either of us said that Sean to be honest. Iraola I think played with a double 6 but one sitting or even forming a back 3 and one doing more running.
Unless Gravenberch returns to be only a 6 that seems to be a massive void in our squad. I think we are looking for a Wharton profile rather than a Joao Gomes no 6. Not entirely sure that would be the best move if correct.

19th July 2026 at 2:28 pm #250860And the holding midfielders at Bournemouth werenβt 6s in the strictly traditional sense that some on here want.
They were more holders.
Which Iβm not against if they are positionalky disciplined and mobile enough._____________________________

19th July 2026 at 5:18 pm #250881We might get a couple of these signings, before this kid Mora is mentioned for a lot more money and the same rule should apply to him but I’m not sure when his birthday is

19th July 2026 at 5:59 pm #250885Mora cannot sign this summer, it would be January at the earliest as birthday in October.
Thing I find funny about his u18 situation I’d so many have no idea about it. I don’t mean people on here but elsewhere but even worse were professionals in the football industry when we were linked with Eichhorn. Kept going on about a buy then loan and didn’t get that you can’t even register an u18 from outside the UK so cannot control the loan.

20th July 2026 at 1:08 pm #250943Hearing terms have more or less been agreed with the player so a first bid will likely happen very soon. As with most first bids (unless there’s a release claus) expect it to be rejected.
A bid wouldn’t be submitted unless terms were agreed, or close enough with maybe a few little tweaks needed.

20th July 2026 at 2:15 pm #250945I donΒ΄t mind paying 20 million for a kid now that joins a year later if that kid is one of the top prospects of South America.
Rob I think we will see a new signing in about a week or so, then probably a couple of more players next month.

20th July 2026 at 4:21 pm #250952Leoni might not be fully fit until December
Gomez be injured soon. We need a cb
We need a rb,a 6 and a right sided attacker and a versatile forward as we only have isak. Thats at a minimum
You cant buy players on the premise that someone might get injured but isak has no backup. Gakpo is not the answer
Unless elliot is not being reconsidered as an option for the right
We look very short in some areas.

20th July 2026 at 5:34 pm #250956Does look Threadbare when you put it like that Sean mate. I’d sound daft in saying this, but what about the options short term like a player from the Championship?
If we’re struggling to attract Top names or we simply can’t find someone sooner, then just thinking of other options.
