He fits the profile we need, he can do the job on the left for sure, I have not watched him on the right flank but he can play both flanks as I am led to believe. 25 years old, only around 30 million for him, which is really low in todays market. I don´t even know why he is leaving Spurs but he is on the market. I think he would be one of the smartest moves we could do this summer. I don´t even understand his price tag as his contract runs out in 2029, it might be a release clause or something as he signed for Spurs in 2022. He has already played for a few clubs or 7 clubs. That´s a lot of loan moves I reckon he would love a permanent home.

The way we need to look at this window is that both of our targets for the wing remain available, both Diomande and Barcola remain at their clubs, I genuinely believe we want both of them. Plus that fullback but every transfer target for the midfield will depend on whether we got a rejuvenated Macca or not. If he is up for another season instead of a big signing to Real Madrid we are not signing another midfielder. We just don´t have the minutes for it. I also seriously doubt any centerback signings as the lads are putting their faith in for a Gomez farewell. It´s his last season for us, I wanna see a testimonial just for him in the pre-season. I want him as vice captain and nobody else. Szobo and the rest of the lads can fight for 3rd place in that competition. It has to be Gomez who will be our vice captain this season. Even if he gets injured he still needs to be our vice captain. This will be his 11th season for the club <3 I respect that so much. He has survived every manager and might even outlast our new one. He needs to be vice captain and he needs to captain the club as well on his own this season. He would play in the cups when we can give Van Dijk a break, he loves to help other players around the club. He is a gentleman and we need him this season, he is the most senior player at the club! We need to respect that! I do not like Szobo for the vice captaincy, I don´t like him for the captaincy either, he has too much of a EGO for that position! He needs to be put down by the likes of Gomez or Van Dijk, like everyone got put down by Henderson and Milner.

Alex Scott who we’ve been credited with interest in, has turned down an improved contract with Bournemouth.

Whether these has anything to do with us remains to be seen.

Good player but not sure he adds anything that we dont already have in abundance.

We need a DM and whilst Scott can play there he likes to roam like all our midfielders. If Jones left then sure he can rotate with Grav and Szlob, but he doesn’t solve our main midfield issue.

I am slightly worried that we will start the season without a DM. Maybe we get Wharton but he too isn’t strictly a DM, he wants to get involved in the forward play.

Its now been over 2 weeks since I raised my concerns over the amount of transfer work that needs done and the lack that has been done in order to build a squad that can last and compete this season.

Still nothing has been done.

I fully expect transfers to happen over the next few weeks but will it be enough with the time remaining?

Take it with a pinch of salt, but two people today told me that those in the signings side of the business only are wanting Diomande….which seems rather nuts considering the drama behind his ownership.
Bar-Cola is looking almost as impossible to sign as Diomande, the figures keep going up on his sale.
Basically, we’ll probably stick with Chiesa….

PSG have apparently walked away from Diomande. As I said a few weeks ago it’s likely us or staying st RBL.

Don’t think it’s just Roc Nation that are making it difficult, think RBL want to keep him for one more year.

Nil, Edwards going shouldn’t have any impact. The club would have known, targets will have been worked on and still being worked on, and besides he shouldn’t even be involved in transfers it wasn’t his job.

Ferran Torres name was bouncing about a few weeks ago and has reappeared recently.

Can, but much more importantly, does play across the front 3 to a good level.

He’s a very flexible which we know Iraolas likes.

Could be that back up to Isak AND get plenty of game time from wide also.

We’re looking for fast, direct wide players and Torres isn’t that. He’s a technical player, would suit a tika taka or possesion team. Don’t think he is what we need.
