Asian, Spurs are dark horses every season and then they get well, Spursy, very quickly. They’ll be better than last season but they’ll be 7th or 8th for me come May.

18th July 2026 at 10:32 am #250741I’d sell Mac Allister all day long, and for the highest price possible.
Totally turns up for Argentina, although being helped by being in a free attacking midfield role, but for Liverpool he was abysmal last season.
He’s way too slow for the Premier League, and gets outmuscled too easily, and worst of all, gives away the ball so cheaply. Who can forget how easily Caicedo took the ball off him to score at Chelsea?
And he doesn’t show any real passion for Liverpool, like he does for his country, let him swan off to Spain, where he is more suited to that type of football.

18th July 2026 at 10:37 am #250744Forgetting about transfers for the moment, our pre-season squad, even at this early stage looks strong with a starting line up below (Frimpong on the wing only because no other senior winger is back yet).
With a new manager like Iraola, it’s a new slate, and he will look at the players from a different perspective than Slot. Thus it’s up to the players to get a real head start, and take their chance, and some squad players may even be elevated to become regular starters, or at least start more frequently, once the season starts.
Marmadashvilli
Bradley Jacquet Gomez Kerkez
Szoboszlai Endo Jones
Frimpong Chiesa NgumohaSubs
Leoni
Tsimikas-

18th July 2026 at 10:44 am #250754Songman just out of interest how do you manage to have to edit a reasonably short and simple post 9 times?
By the way you can stop edit notifications showing.
Edit: 10 times including the below post

18th July 2026 at 10:46 am #250755Correction, I forgot that Elliot is back.
In fact the squad players like Elliott, Chiesa, Endo, Nyoni, Gomez and Tsimikas now have a good chance to stake their claim, if they can prove to be up to the task.
Thus an even stronger line up of:
Marmadashvilli
Frimpong Jacquet Gomez Kerkez
Szoboszlai Endo Jones
Elliott Chiesa Ngumoha
Subs
Bradley
Leoni
Tsimikas
Nyoni-

18th July 2026 at 10:57 am #250759Shows me you’re a fucking idiot.
Are you going to actually venture an opinion on football matters this season? Or just your usual rubbish?

18th July 2026 at 11:08 am #250760You stinking little cunt threeps, you just can’t stand me defeating you in every argument?
The fact that you have to resort to an incredibly weak insult to a purely football post about our pre-season team, shows my you an infantile loser of the highest order, and clearly obsessed with how often I’ve made a fool out of you – and I’ll do it again and again.
Now go fuck yourself, little boy, before you even think of debating with grown men on this site.

18th July 2026 at 11:30 am #250765These should be winnable games to raise our levels of confidence which is something that essentially was stripped away last season.
Only Macca left really to join and onboard with the rest of the players. Circumstances otherwise from the World Cup of early eliminations has been in our favour for players to rest up and recharge.

18th July 2026 at 11:44 am #250768I think preseason isn’t necessarily about winnable games and confidence, it’s about seeing how the system works and how players perform in certain situations, tweaking if needs be.
Losing a game isn’t a bad thing, especially if there’s a difference in preparation time, but losing because theirs obvious flaws in the system is very bad if you don’t learn from it.
Anyone see us vs Milan last season? They just ran through the middle of us. That should have been a big warning sign to Slot but that vulnerability continued for more or less the entire season.
I don’t expect perfection in preseason especially with a new coach, but I want to see a system and ideas that look like they could work with more time and training.

18th July 2026 at 11:53 am #250769Particularly these pre season games Threeps with Iraola trying to ingrain his style of play.
A removal from last years style.
It will be about getting fitness up to the right levels/intensity and getting across his style of play.
However many will be behind the curve as they join pre season later and any new players will also have to catch up.
I donβt expect us to be pulling up trees in pre season gamesβ¦..I never do tbh._____________________________

18th July 2026 at 1:06 pm #2507703p’s of course, those elements have to be factored in because of a brand new Manager.
It is how we settle in most importantly as a group and doing all the necessary things needed from a preparation point of view which should ultimately result to us being READY.
But in my view, the winning is equally important. Personally, I’ve traditionally read into a pre-season prep as a way of shaping how we start a new season.

18th July 2026 at 7:42 pm #250785This is what I mean Sean.
Every few years the market just jumps and a new level is set. Chelsea seem to be a lot to do with it too.
Enzo, Caicedo, Rogers.By the way I agree about the price.
