Final whistle at bridge 1-1, gutted to drop points today despite all our players missing Everton had it MUCH worse and have to give them massive credit for their efforts. They did what any team with their form and selection problems would do and sat in deep with numbers looking for beak and did it well.
Created ton of chances first half, again we failed to take them but we had very few good chances in second half. Set piece goal from Everton for equaliser but it was a good delivery and can’t begrudge them it we should have taken our chances.
Heard pep talking about his barca once saying he coaches them how to dominate first 2 thirds of pitch and move the ball around but relies on quality of forward players to create and score the chances when the spaces arrive. That’s the problem tuchel has with chelsea imo, pretty much as good as we can be first 2 thirds but despite the quantity of forward players at his disposal they are nowhere near the quality of city and pool.
Not making excuses just explaining that we are just not as good as the top 2 that’s all.
Hope the club puts faith in tuchel and give him the time klopp has had at pool, I know our rotating door has brought successes but this time I think we need to realise the level of competition and play longer game.

Yeah great credit to Everton Sean the players that came in settled into that 523 well were defending in numbers and full of bravery and energy when they won the ball.
I be honest before mount scored I thought they were gonna get a goal like utd got against us as we were having to push more and more higher and higher such was our impotence up front. Big sigh of relief with our goal but as soon as they equalised again I thought it was just as likely they get goal on counter than we manage to create a good chance and score. 2nd half we were awful up front we had to bring saul and barkley into front line 🤣

BTW, those Newcastle lads should really be suspended for 3 games for trying to take advantage of the head injury rule.
I already don’t like diving but to pretend to have a head injury is not only about trying to cheat the rules, it’s going to mean that refs might think twice about acting on future genuine incidents. It’s highly unethical to try to game this particular rule and really, it needs to be condemned very strongly before it becomes a thing.
Can we at least all agree on this?

I’d use stronger language too but I’d get myself in bother for it but I just re-watched it and there was absolutely nothing in it, they just pretended.
Most rules are about the game and the proceeding of a sporting event. The head injury rule is about player safety and should be totally off limits from this kind of BS.

I actually thought it was a foul on lsscalles by konate mak mate. Not sure what happened to Hayden. Didn’t see him hit his head but I thought konate defo was to late on lascalles and was surprised a free was not given. Lascelles did get a knock in the head but got up and played on.
