I don’t think you can go to Stamford Bridge and expect to be comfortable. But we’ve completely lost any mojo we might have had from our opening 5 games. Devoid of confidence, ideas and fairly easy to play against.

And there we go. We’re poor at the back, poor in midfield and in transition up top. The attack somewhat papered over the cracks last year. We don’t have that anymore. Boy I’d love Caicedo in our team.

We have been poor in the first 5 games, being top was not reflective on how we have played. Now we have some tough games after the break amd arsenal ones you’d expect maximum points with.
Tactically we look lost, both going forward and also the press. Not sure what Slot is doing but it isn’t working.

Slot has work to do, he’s undone a lot of the cohesion we had last year. The changes he made over the summer a lot of use called for, so we’re reaping what we’ve sown to an extent.

What a mess.
First choice keeper injured.
No idea who the first choice full backs are.
Konate in poor form. Only one other recognised full CB.
No consistency of selection in midfield.
Salah doesn’t seem to be able to hit a barn door.
Gakpo cuts and shots ad verbatim.
Two in form players sat on bench and chiesa didn’t even get off it.
and Wirtz doesn’t seem to be able buy a goal.

It’s not the players he’s changing that’s the issue, it’s this more passive style. First half was pretty much last seasons team and they were awful.

A mainly improved performance in the second half, we were still poor but could see some energy and plan. Gakpo was very frustrating today. He got the goal but was so wasteful and put us under pressure on the turn over …. especially in the last few minutes. You could put salah and macAlister in that bracket too. Konate is now a big problem for us.

What ever the issue, were currently not winning football matches and that needs to change.

Salah is contributing nothing to the team at present either in defence or attack. I’d put chiesa in there and bench him.
I’d also tell Robertson and szobo they are the first choice FBs and I’d put Gomez in with VVD.
Konate, Frimpong, Bradley, salah and Kerkez not delivering the goods. Wirtz needs time but still disappointing given our expectations.

Two points, firstly we were very poor with our passing today, too many players gave the ball away far too often.
Secondly, it is only 7 games into the season, and Slot has more than enough time to turn this slump around, and I’m sure he has identified the numerous problems we currently have.
So let’s come back with a big bang after the international break.
