If Arsenal beat West Ham at home (which they should) and Palace win at Everton (could easily do) and we lose, we’re third. Three points a must after what really has been a shitty old week or so with two defeats and three injuries.

We face a Chelsea team no different than last season with no wins in the league since the end of August. We, on the other hand, are a little all over the place this season so should make interesting viewing!

We got bounced here last season 3-1 after we had been declared Premier League winners and haven’t won at Stamford Bridge in the league for over five years.

Who will start?

Mama, Bradley, Konate, VVD, Robbo, Grav, Szobo, Wirtz, Gakpo, Isak and Mo is my guess. If I had my way Gomez would replace five a side Dad Konate in a heartbeat and Chiesa, if fit, ahead of Isak through the middle but suspect the likes of Chiesa, Jones et al to come on later in the game. JJones could easily start though to add a little more defensive presence.

Despite Chelsea’s absolute averageness and injury concerns (missing a shit ton of defenders and Palmer I think is out too) they will still cause us problems, but I’ve a sneaky we’re gonna bounce back.

Chiesa should start for me

If you look at writz other night, he created some great chances. Really want him to succeed so start him. Palmer out should be big for us but i think enzo will start as ten with lavia coming in beside caciedo

I don’t see Slot starting with this team.
Completely get there may be discussions over who should be VVDs partner at the back.
I doubt MacA is ready to play the 90 yet but id have him starting then change him on the 60/70.
Who come on for him depends on how the games progressing…could be Wirtz, could be Jones, could be someone else.
Isak also unlikely to play the 90 but its looking increasingly likely Ekitke may be ok for this after all.
Id like to Chiesa come on at some point and not the last few mins of normal time. He could play either wing or the 10.
Bradley another unlikely to last the 90 as he gets back to full fitness.

Ye no probs with that team except if have chiesa in for gakpo. Wont y but he deserves a start especially as gakpo offers nothing at the moment.

Slot has to get back to basics here, and play the same team and patient style from last season, like we did against Everton.

Apart from Ekitike who has settled in immediately, Slot should ease the new players into the team gradually, where relevant e.g. coming off the bench, most notably with Wirtz.

Now let’s win this game, we can do it if team selection is right, and we play to our potential, so cut out the wayward passes and silly mistakes.

Even if fully fit ginger, i doubt slot would start chiesa but he really deserves a chance. He probs wont even be on bench if eitike fit. Its frustrating as he is playing well while gakpo has been poor but gets every chance.

Gakpo along with others has been poor. Midfield be key battle as i think they will go with lavia , enzo and cacedo

Also isak is not fit , might be better to start eitike if he is fit. Hes in form. Isak then gets more game time with sweden and hopefully comes back injury free and fitter.

Isak may not be fit to play 90 but he’s injury free.
The same can’t necessarily be said for Ekitike at the minute after the was subbed off with injury midweek.
We know how reluctant Slot is to play players carrying knocks/injuries or just coming back from injury.
That’s not to say he won’t start.

There’s a few lack match fitness but I feel always better starting such players knowing when you will take them off, like give them 60 minutes. Only way to gain match fitness is tk play matches. If Ekitike is fit then he starts over Isak however as I think currently he’s playing much better.

Use width and tempo, press much better. We’ve been too passive this season in the press, allowing opposition time to look up and pick a pass. Chelsea are very strong in the middle so we need Szoboszlai in there for the press and why I’d have Jones over MacAllister.

Adidas20, there’s quite a number of London clubs in the PL so back to back games against clubs from the capital will happen here and there. We won’t be only ones either in the league to have this happen. A truly bizarre and odd claim.
