More mid-week European games… arguably Barca vs Sausage Munchers being the pick of the bunch… unfortunately, noboby is in any danger at all of being knocked out, so expect all teams to be playing slightly weaker than usual sides and rotating a bit…

Maybe change the rule to something like nobody allowed in the 6 yard box until the corner is taken or something… would certainly put a stop to it and would still allow players to “run-in” while the ball is in the air…

As already mentioned, it’s all about consistancy with those calls… I’ve seen an awful lot worse happen at corners not given, so if they gave it for that, I’d be bloody annoyed…

On a seperate note, glad to hear Danny Wellbeck’s broken back, an incident which occurred in the 84th minute while his team were defending a 1-0 nil lead away from home and which took 7 minutes for the medics to carry him off the pitch has miracously been cured and he should be fit to play next weekend…

You’re 100% spot on when you say consistancy is the key here…. personally it’s a contact sport, and whatnot etc… and giving off-sides etc.. for what Wee Bernard was doing is basically diluting the game into a wierd version of hopscotch… I’ve seen an awful lot worse not given, and I don’t think today’s should have been given… I just hope refs don’t start blowing for every “minor” infraction… every game would take two hours to play and finish 0-0…

I’ve seen the Goonies, 2 and a bit times this season, losing to the 115, where they were 2nd best before they went down to 10, their win over us Spuds, when they were 2nd best in just about every aspect of the game except the one that counts, and the last 10 minutes here, were they basically lost… nobody wins the League in October, but you can lose it, and I reckon they’ve already lost it… down to the 115 and the Micky Mousers now…

Brighton looked like they deserved it based on what I saw, had a few opportunities to extend their lead, Bone Saw Boyz never really looked like scoring despite all their huffing and puffing… not sure what happened to Wellbeck, the challenge didn’t look bad at all, see those types of nudges 30 times a game… if it was just time wasting then that really was taking the piss… be interesting to see if/when he’s back in training…

Behave, B-Day Boy, I’m amazed they even let him play on considering the amount of time he took from the incident anyway, let alone to the other (at least once) time he got patch up after the orignal patch-up… maybe if your medics did it right the first, no second, maybe third, then he woudn’t have need the 4th sticky plaster…
