Very happy with our CB “collection” if I’m honest, when they’re all fit, just leaving them far too open with the FB’s up the other end of the pitch having a cup of tea with Solonke, something which is certainly Angie’s decision.

Don’t think there’s an single Spuds fan who doesn’t agree we don’t deserve to be where we are… as you say, we were at the right end of the table after 12ish games… then the injuries struck… again, not really Angie’s fault but where he lost us (certainly lost me!) was continuing the play the expansive “we’ll score more than you” game when it was obvious we were not going to score more… and then, when the injury list eased somewhat, continually chopping and changing the team so he could “wrap-up” those coming back from injury for the Europe League… just no realistic chance for any level of cohesion to build up, not when you’re changing 5/6/7 players every game… everybody is all over the place.

Angie’s just not a good enough manager for challenging for Premierships… simple.

Just checked, Goonies don’t have a single player who’s reached double digits in the Prem (Havertz leading on 9)…

Goonies “issue” was simply not having the sort of striker who was likely to be chasing the Golden Boot… it was obvious to me after about 12 games they were not going to give anybody a “decent” race for the title but stay at the top of the chasing pack… never going to score enough.

As you say, 115 completely collapsed after Rodders got injured, they were never going to catch-up, and quite frankly, nobody else was good enough…

Not taking anything away from Pool, easily the best team in the country this season and deserving of the title.

Roll on next year… (I’ll say it now, of the Goonies buy Isak they will be a lot closer!)

Nope… take away the decent 10/12 games at the start of last season, so the 3/4 of that season and this season, I think he’s lost somewhere in the region of 30 games out of 60… admittedly this season we had quite a serious injury for the middle third or so… but even so, we’re getting worse and looking like we could very will be losing the few half-decent players we’ve got as he has seemingly lost the dressing room.

Nice fella, and would be quite chuffed if we do win the EL, and he could leave with his head held high (and keep his “2nd season” streak!)….

But if we do win, and he stays, I can see us sacking him around November time, most certainly in the bottom half of the prem, and very, very likely to be in the bottom 8 of the silly CL table…

Maybe not sack him during the evening (if we win!), give him a couple of days to “bask in the glory” and every opportunity to resign with some dignity would be my preferred “option”…. (I’d even tell him we would pay up his salary even if he resigns!).

It’s the ultimate irony, cyber chum, genuinely can’t remeber a league campaign so bad yet the jammy bugger could end up winning the Europa League… a trophy is a trophy, and I’m certainly not sneezing at it, but I would like to think Angie wins it and takes the high-ground, quits with a “told you I alway win something in my second season” level of dignity… because if he starts next season, he’ll be out by Helloween, the moment we lose 3 or more games in the CL…

And obviously, he’ll be out the moment the ref blows if we don’t beat the Norwegian lot…
