If that wasn’t reckless/dangerous I don’t know what is… German goalie should be walking…

28th April 2025 at 9:29 am #219086But… he could still win the EL and get CL for you next season. Surely you’ll keep him with that?
Hope it’s an all English final with spurs winning of course.

28th April 2025 at 10:01 am #219087Nope… take away the decent 10/12 games at the start of last season, so the 3/4 of that season and this season, I think he’s lost somewhere in the region of 30 games out of 60… admittedly this season we had quite a serious injury for the middle third or so… but even so, we’re getting worse and looking like we could very will be losing the few half-decent players we’ve got as he has seemingly lost the dressing room.
Nice fella, and would be quite chuffed if we do win the EL, and he could leave with his head held high (and keep his “2nd season” streak!)….
But if we do win, and he stays, I can see us sacking him around November time, most certainly in the bottom half of the prem, and very, very likely to be in the bottom 8 of the silly CL table…
Maybe not sack him during the evening (if we win!), give him a couple of days to “bask in the glory” and every opportunity to resign with some dignity would be my preferred “option”…. (I’d even tell him we would pay up his salary even if he resigns!).

28th April 2025 at 10:59 am #219091From listening to 606 y’day, I picked up on apparently Notts Forest fans turning on Nuno. Why? Obviously it’s a disappointment. But haven’t they progressed beyond expectations? I also see them dropping off, but perhaps this is down to tiredness in players and not having the depth.
Ange actually got off to a good start during the first chunk of the PL Campaign. But unlike a comparison to Forest, Spurs have fallen beyond expectations as far as the League Ladder goes.
It’s this though during appointing somebody, down to planning and contingencies? Teams can be struck with player injuries and sadly, there’s very little they have control of when dealing with that scenario. It’s ultimately a measure of 45-50 games. There has to be investment in players and youth development to integrate players and keeping hold of your better ones.
I would like Spurs to achieve a Cup, but in their best interest, it’s better for Ange to part-ways and allow somebody new.

28th April 2025 at 11:07 am #219093Don’t think there’s an single Spuds fan who doesn’t agree we don’t deserve to be where we are… as you say, we were at the right end of the table after 12ish games… then the injuries struck… again, not really Angie’s fault but where he lost us (certainly lost me!) was continuing the play the expansive “we’ll score more than you” game when it was obvious we were not going to score more… and then, when the injury list eased somewhat, continually chopping and changing the team so he could “wrap-up” those coming back from injury for the Europe League… just no realistic chance for any level of cohesion to build up, not when you’re changing 5/6/7 players every game… everybody is all over the place.
Angie’s just not a good enough manager for challenging for Premierships… simple.

28th April 2025 at 11:45 am #219094Valid Point Chucks; Strategy on being more Tactical. Unfortunately as far as defensive performances go, I haven’t seen too many this season. Definitely in need of a Centre Half and a DM. Ange yes, perhaps a bit too proud for his own liking. I thought this too is where Klopp went wrong in the latter part of his tenure, not refining the 4-3-3 to 4-2-3-1.

28th April 2025 at 1:36 pm #219097Very happy with our CB “collection” if I’m honest, when they’re all fit, just leaving them far too open with the FB’s up the other end of the pitch having a cup of tea with Solonke, something which is certainly Angie’s decision.

2nd June 2025 at 3:49 pm #219429Come on Danny-boy, make your mind up one way or the other… us fans have got plans about day-dreaming for next year…
Still think we’ve a Top10 side quite easily, it was injuries and putting all our eggs in one basket which created our final league position.
Three/four smart buys and better luck with injuries next year will see us back in the top half, no problem, regardless of who’s manager.
Keep:
GK: Vicky and Kinksy
RB: Porro/Spence
CB: Cuti (although I think he wants out so another CB if he does!), Micky, Danso, Dragusin, and that young lad who’s been on loan for a couple of seasons.
LB: Destiny (although Micky can cover there and I’d still keep Davies as a sqaud player)
MD: Madders, Bergvall, Sarr, Bentencur, Grey (sell everybody else and get another 1 or 2 in).
Forwards; Sonny, Kulu, Tel, Solenko, Oddbert, Moore (Sane has been heavily linked?), Eze too? Sell Richy if we can get upwards of 35 mill for him._____________________________

4th June 2025 at 10:01 am #219491Ye i think ang is gone
All the rumours are floating around.
Frank and marco silva the contenders
Franks club is Brentford. Everything fits there and its a perfect match. He would fail at spurs. So would silva
But its a difficult one. Fans want ang to stay after winning the cup but he be gone like ten hag if he stays

4th June 2025 at 3:01 pm #219498The biggest issue for me is more along the lines of who we’re going to get… can’t help feeling both Frank and Silva are a sideways step at best, and part of me does think Angie deserves a crack at the CL…
Sure, we finished 17th, but if at the start of the season you offered us Spuds a nice shiny pot AND Champions League footy for next year, we would have bitten your hand-off!
Yes, we finished 17th which is bloody awful, but having pretty much our entire back line missing for the middle third of the season, comnbined with wrapping them up in cotton wool for the last third of the seaon didn’t help… just highlighted the lack of quality outside the first 11…
Leaning towards keeping him now, if I’m honest… but we depending on who we get in the summer, we could be panicing come November time…

4th June 2025 at 5:51 pm #219509Very good Candidates as potential replacements to succeed Ange.
What I would say personally is an all round best solution is for Ange to leave while the going is good. He’s achieved a Trophy and will be remembered and respected I’m sure in good light.
Give either or Silva and Frank this opportunity. If I was a Spurs Fan, I’d have this in mind as a positive new Chapter.
It’s possible too that those names have taken their respective clubs are far as possible so the timing could be perfect.

4th June 2025 at 6:33 pm #219514The thing with those two (Frank and Silva), is the idea they’ve been doing great with a small budget…
Give’s me the heebie-jeebies thinking Danny-boy is hoping those two can continue to perform miracles on a slightly less tight budget… and that’s not what we need to challenge for titles… Top7 in a good year and decent cup runs is all Danny-boy seems to aiming for…
Lots of chatter about Sonny going too… that will be a sad day for sure, love that fella!
